If we're talking about a manga with a female lead, I totally agree.

Besides that, I think Jump has a really diverse group group of manga at the moment. Not sure what's going to happen once Naruto or Bleach end, though.

But, I think shounen manga with a female lead pretty rare (except for Jump SQ) and not sure it is very popular.

If Illegal Rare doesn't count, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't, I'm still waiting for a mystery/suspense manga... and the wait's been the length of Nisekoi already.

Maybe it's too unrealistic a wish, but it doesn't look like any new battle manga fare any better chance of coming in.

Mizushima Shinji (author of Dokaben) is 74; yet, he is still serializing in weekly magazine since 1972 (4 years older than Kochikame). So, the age doesn't really matter

And if you know anything about real life, then you know that susceptibility to illness and death increases with age as well. So I ask, realistically, how much longer do you believe Kochikame will go on? 20 years? 40 years?

Surely it's not beyond us to make an educated guess.

Or even beyond that, much like how Usui's team took over Crayon Shin-chan after his death.

Point is, it's not going anywhere soon (probably), so just let this go.

this whole debate is kind of redundant, relying on subjective views on the various hard to define traits of entertainment. IF you like such and such, and don't like such and such, THAT'S FINE. And vice versa. But isn't this just getting tired? C'mon, positive thoughts, nerds.

Let's talk about... I dunno. How are you all feeling about the current line-up of Jump titles. Are you satisfied with the genre spread, or is there a certain type of series you're hoping will come into the anthology this year?

As I've talked about previously, I wanted a new adventure battle manga that just focuses on being fun and doesn't take itself that seriously. Something like Nanatsu no Taizai.

It is also a battle manga (but not pure battle manga). This series is kind of mixture of several genres.

Plus, I think he isn't really talking about just battle manga; I think he is talking about unconventional/unorthodox series.

It wasn't meant to be a discussion lol. It's a really straightforward question.

Either "until Akimoto passes" or "team may take over after he passes" would have been an actual answer.

I'd be pretty interested in a satire/action combo like Medaka or BoBoBo-Bo to crop up again, for sure.

Beyond that I'm pretty satisfied. Sports titles, quirky twists on classic formula, romance and gag manga are all crazy well-catered for at present.

I would like to see a new action manga (Iwashiro, Amano) but only after naruto ending, bleach isn't exactly taking anyone vote anymore, to clearly open a space for a new manga success in that genre.
