Well, as long as it's a better team... yes?

No offense, but Ghana could had easily won today, but derped around a lot, I don't see why you'd have more chances to qualify than Portugal even with this circumstances.
Hmm, so we could have lost easily if Ghana had scored? What kind of argument is that? They created some decent chances, they just couldn't finish, unlike us.That's why a lot of teams lose games. Don't know why that's a noteworthy thing lol. They had moments where they were threatening on a more consistent basis, but they couldn't get anything out of it. And unlike other teams, it wasn't because they were robbed, despite shit officiating, which is remarkable IMO.

It's just based on odds, the goal differential, and the fact that Portugal HAS to win, whereas we don't.

I know, but you really believe that Portugal won't play better against you or that they can't get that 6 goals difference (which is huge, but still)? Even with all that, I don't see you having better chances than them, and it's obvious why.
Well, CR7 should be healthier than he was for the match against Germany. On the other hand, Pepe's suspended, Coentrao's certainly out, and Almeida might be out, but he's not that good, so I'm unsure whether that's a good or bad thing.

They certainly could turn over a 6 GD with 3-0 against Ghana and 3-0 for Germany against the US on the final day, but that's only if the US snatch a draw in the first place. The US certainly weren't convincing, nor did they hold possession or pass all that well, but we play the matches because anything can happen.

BTW, I'm not saying it'll be easy for us or anything. But it's a less uphill battle than Portugal's IMO.

I'm talking about the level you showed...

Yeah, I know it's based just in statistics, and that's why it isn't accurate, lol.

They don't need to score 6 goals. They can do 3 and Germany 2 to you and they'll qualify, because they scored more goals. Same if they win by 2 and Germany wins by 3... etc.

Give me the point :arf

In that scenario (Portugal doing 3 to Ghana), it would mean that you have to score 2 goals against Germany... and I don't see it happenning, lol.

Yeah but in this scenario Portugal can 3-0 a team that should have beat us. So what happens if we draw with Portugal? What then? :kappa

Oh, right, I forgot that goals scored would be the tiebreaker at that point. I was thinking that Portugal would've needed six to beat us out, but that's not the case.

So for me who only watch the first 10 minutes and the last 5 minutes of Ghana v. USA think that match is better than Portugal v. Germany :kappa

I've failed so much in my predictions this far, I ain't even bothering anymore. But Brazil should be interesting to watch, Mexico might even give a fight. Also curious on Russia vs. South Korea.

Oh and congrats team USA. Didn't see that one coming. Saw a replay compilation, and indeed was epic when squeezed into 15 minutes.

Belgium will do an one-sided match, but I'm gonna watch even so, I'm curious to see Belgium style and all, they seem skillful. Also, I respect Belgium since 2002 allthough they didn't make into WC since then.
I predict 2-0 Brazil, Mexico is tough, but if we play like we usually do, we win without problems.

South Korea x Russia will be the most balanced and it makes the match interesting.

Why in all heavens does Brazil play its second match before Russia had its first? Sense

As for the matches, expectations are high for Belgium to score high against Algeria, Brazil will probably be lucky once again despite a Mexican crowd and then there's the faint hope of an outsider victory of South Korea, a Russian success is more likely though.

As for the statistics :rofl
What are the group stages even based on? The first and only match? If so, they're in for one or the other surprise. England having a 2/3 chance of dropping out xDDD

Now Brazil victory was product of luck? You should make career as comedian. :lmao
Brazilian crowd will always be bigger than any other here, we're at home anyway.

We don't expect an easy match, like I said many times, Mexico is tough. However, we won Mexico at this same stadium last year in the Conf. Cup and the team has a slightly better relationship with the fans there than in São Paulo. Brazil team will have much less pressure upon them and Mexico will be more offensive than Croatia, which is good for our playing style. Everything leads to a good match and victory. :)

German journalism at its finest? Good sports? :s

I don't even need to read it to know it's mockery. Why do journalists focus on such negativity instead of objectively judging performances without needless mockery and bashing?

It's funny how you see everything that remotely brings luck and Brazil into one sentence as comedy. What was it that convinced you so much about your team? The penalty goal or the one in overtime? It could have well ended in a draw and the result does not reflect how the match went in a 100% way. That doesn't mean it was luck and neither does it mean it was this exact match I was reffering to, but hey, as long as you can cheer for your team and see everything critical as comedy.

As for the crowd, naturally yours is bigger than anyone elses, because, as you wrote yourself, home world cup *duh* But in the match of the confed cup you mentioned there were a lot of mexicans if I understood our pre-report right, and that's likely going to be the same again with some 30.000 Mexicans around. More than most other teams could ever hope to get.
