Every team succeeds with luck, there is nothing dishonest about such a thing, and this isn't new or unique to Brazil. The USA made it through with luck. People are allowed to have opposing opinions without being unfair in their criticism. You're Brazilian, you want to see your team succeed and win is a win at the end of the day, but how each team gets their can differ.

I still don't understand what Germany were trying to do with this set piece routine. http://gfycat.com/SickDimGreatargus There's faking out the opposition and then there's faking out your own players.

I think that they also did one in the group stages where four players ran over the ball and then a guy kicked it.

Müller falling was funny. :lmao
Maybe it is a typical dancing in Germany. :teehee

Müller is indeed known for being funny. Ask around. I wouldn't be surprised if that was a part of the plan. But without Reus, our freekicks are worth nothing.

He is known for being funny, but falling during a set piece routine? That's probably going a bit far even for him.

Well, yeah, when you're missing your best offensive player, you're going to have problems. It's been patently obvious in this World Cup so far that, apart from the Porugal match, Germany have desperately missed Reus. His free kicks, his runs, his passing, his interplay, everything.

I said at the beginning of the tournament that this WC would be diminished by Reus missing out, and the WC has been great, but not seeing Reus has been such a shame.

Argentina was not that good either. If the matches continue like those today, Switzerland will surprise everybody and make Argentina suffer.
Better than Switzerland and with enough quality to beat them. That's all that really matters. Sure, it might not be an easy victory, but there's no reason to expect an upset just because there have been surprises in this WC.

Hopefully, it will be a surprise because the matches are better that way. However, the match I'm looking forward to watch is Belgium vs. USA; putting Brazil vs. Chile aside, it's the match with more equal teams in force IMO. That's what we said here about Belgium uncountable times, won 3 matches, but didn't convince. USA is playing better than I expected. So, they are quite even for me.

I actually haven't seen Belgium play live yet, since all of their matches were early in the day. I just know the two Belgians posting in this thread have both been underwhelmed with their performance in groups.

Belgium haven't performed as many have been waiting or expecting them to, especially considering the talent they have in their team. They will find USA to be a different caliber of opponent to those they've faced in the tournament so far. It could really go either way here.

With Reus I would've hoped for the trophy actually. Without him, there is no chance we will win this tournament. Best of 8 is already something if you look at the combination of a missing Reus and Löw - meaning four central defenders... :facepalm

i don't think reus is THAT important for germany, he is indeed very important for dortmund but not for germany at least not now
many people compare his injury with the one of ballack 2010, that's ridiculous

but you're right with löw, germany will never win something big with löw (and özil :D)

Go compare Reus to the rest of Germany's AMs and come back. You'll find that they rest of them are just lacking in comparison. Sure, Muller scores goals at times, he's not always that effective. The rest just don't get it done usually.

Who else can take free kicks for Germany? Who else can drive at defenders the way Reus can?

Löw could win something, as long as he went away from silly tactics and just played to the strength of his players, but he doesn't know how to do that.

Reus is important for Dortmund but not for Germany? Wow this is wrong on so many levels... Reus has been the best german player for two years in a row now. His freekicks, his runs, his passes, his awesomeness... He is exactly what you need to win a trophy. Look at Kroos' freekicks or corners. Thanks to Özil being a ghost since he left Real, you need an outstanding player like Reus. That and side backs...
In the end Löw will yet again prevent Germany from winning anything.

Well, if that's how thing are... Please, lose to France. We brazilians have some things unfinished with France, we'd like to play against them if possible. :p

My bets for tomorrow:
Argentina x Switzerland
Belgium x USA

"Löw used Brazil hard time as example and valorize qualification: 'Should I be sad? The important is qualify''"
This is the headline of a news here in Brazil. At least he was humble.

I think you deserve it. You were really lucky versus Ghana based on what i heard, but against us i would say that it was exactly the opposite. You are also lucky that Germany didn't really need that much from the last game, cuz if they did i think they could had went at least for the 2-0.

But you guys deserve it ... even if the only reason i say this is because i think Portugal didn't deserve to get through.

Anyway in the case where Belgium doesn't play that great today, i hope you beat them. They have to show today that they can do something nice with the great lineup they have ... if they can't show it, i hope they get eliminated and you guys get through XD

I have seen bits of both teams. Argentina indeed has what it takes to outclass Switzerland. It's way too linear to think that they will keep underperforming, anyway. I expect them to turn a switch on, especially if they get to QFs and realize how close they actually are to winning it all.

We have two matches today. Are "2" and "Both" the same thing? :hmm

I'm taking Belgium to win 2-1 in a match that'll be closer than it should be on talent, but the US have impressed as a team so far.

I'll take 2-1 for Argentina as well.

Both matches will end in 90 minutes.

I'd love to see you after Neymar was injured or something... Because without him even Brazil is not worth mentioning.

How do you intend to play against France after Colombia kicks you out? Is a friendly match after the wc already scheduled? :derp

What should he say anyway? Saying that everything was awesome? He knows that he fucked up big time. Problem will be, that we probably see a similar line-up again... <.<
