Argentine news site, no reliable source. :derp
It's from Spain, ignorant :oh

Speaking of that, Hardy would've been in the top 100-150 entrants on ESPN.com if he'd just picked Germany to beat his own country. :P
Which is what I did in the first place in my other bracket... but I'm a dumbass :cookiehand

I already said it, Robben deserve it and it's not even close.
Why? Because he's bald?

Why we can't stand Argies chapter 100: Argies scrawled our Sambadrome, one of the symbols of our culture. :cookiehand

Isn't that the place where you left the Argies (and mostly them) stay there, almost live there and watch matches? ... what did you expect?

They repay the hospitality not messing around! But it's too much expect it from Argies after all. :nah

That only shows he's the best player of the last decade, doesn't really mean he was the best of the WC.

Use informations outside the World Cup to elect the best player of the World Cup is awesome, Pelé was the best of the World Cup then. :XD

Really, Robben by far. Netherlands is not Netherlands without Robben, he is a monster.

" The stats " about the WC are also widely available and no need to post them here really
And if people don't consider those as enough... I might just say that Messi's presence alone helped Argentina quite a lot defensively, but then again people will say no no bla bla James/Robben or whatever deserves this bla bla, while if you ask me, all of them are nearly equal in their performance this WC, but this is just my opinion anyway

Oh, so Argentina are great without Messi ?
No need to be butthurt about this... I can feel your pain, but come on...

That article is more toward people who shit talk about Messi mostly

I've been saying that Messi > Robben for a while now. I just don't think he had a better WC than James honestly, even if he played the final and created more chances.

On the other hand, yeah, it's pretty obvious that a lot of people just love giving shit to Messi and say he didn't deserve it at all.. which is just dumb but wtv.

Argentina lost like 98679576 shots in front of the goal. Maracanã was rejecting their goals. :XD

Higuain is still commemorating that goal. Everybody saw that it was offside but him. :3c

I fucking hate Higuain so much, I understand Aguero not being in top shape, but Higuain and Palacio, god damn it

Joseph Baltter was caught by surprise for Messi election as best of the World Cup. When FIFA president is caught by surprise, certainly something is wrong. :p

LOL

Part of it has to do with the fact that for a lot of these journalists, Messi is the most visible figure. Regardless of when the vote takes place, his goals often look more spectacular. Like, a twisting run that ends with a curler from outside the box edging inside the far post. Messi had moments of brilliance, but overall, he was marked out of matches for the most part. Germany lost Khedira and then Howedes and Hummels couldn't cope with the combination of Lavezzi and Messi together. However, as soon as Lavezzi got subbed off, Messi's danger vanished for the most part, as there wasn't a second runner to track.

Still, Messi didn't have a bad tournament, he just didn't shine as brightly as some of the others. In terms of Robben, I think the reason that people see him as not as worthy is that he lost to Argentina and thus didn't make the Final. James lost in the QFs to Brazil, so he played two fewer matches than Messi did. Muller had more goals and more assists, but I think that some of them are weighted a little less than Messi's because some of Muller's came in routs (a brace against Portugal and a goal against Brazil). I think that one of James, Muller, or Robben deserved the Golden Ball more than Messi did, but I can understand reasons why Messi won.

Admittedly, almost everyone's come out and said that Messi shouldn't have won it, but...

Thomas Müller didn't get the Golden Boot, but he is the best comedian of the World Cup by far. :fan

I picked it in a news talking about his "educated" opinion about the Golden Boot. :fan
