It is a shame though. If they had put a bit more money/time/better team behind it the anime might have increased the sales like it did with NnT. Instead it is what it is, an anime that follows the story but doesn't do a good job at the animation. And sometimes not even a job at all. Which sucks after reading spoilers for ch.80.......

Quite sure the popularity of 7taizai is a timeslot effect and being a more mainstream series, than just "animation quality".

Though did people truly expect world trigger to explode in sales like 7taizai and tokyo ghoul and haikyuu?!

Well yeah, but you know that TOC placements are not an exact science, and what I was referring to was the hype of that battle that is been happening since this arc started.

It certainly is the ranking for the chapters around that time though, and no one knew for sure if the mentioned event would actually happen. My point was that the whole arc was/is great and that's why it's getting those high rankings, not because of a potential hype (or at least far from being the only reason).

I didn't expect anything like that really!

That is one of the most difficult things in the industry. Manage between what you spend and what you potentially will earn with that. Is always a risk, and the previous success of a title is always a big indication. I believe that is the producer role to manage and gather funds and staff.
I just can see the hard work that the producer must had to convince the investors to give more money or the company to reserve good personnel. Certainly just saying that better animation quality will bring more money wouldn't cut it. But I believe that if World Trigger shows is worth even with this animation quality it will soon or later(I hope is not to late) will get a significant boost in quality. That happened to Majin Bone and Marvel Disk Wars: Avengers, but they never got such a low animation quality as World trigger.

To say the truth my main problem right now with the anime is not the animation, but the Music and scenes Direction. The music never seems right, from romantic music in the first meeting of Osamu and Kuga, to a "ohm" like sound, to a "helicopter" like sound and relaxing jazz music(or something similar) in inappropriate scenes like in the class new student introduction. It simply seems like is done by a totally amateur or a person with a lot of bad tastes. The scenes Directing also is not that good, majority of scenes take 2-3 seconds to much to end(or even more) and it seems like a lot of scenes could be more fluid and dynamicbut just seems more stale what they should be, even without the good animation.

I actually expected WT to be the next Beelzebub, but at this rate it will be the next Medaka at best...

To be honest, you say such stuff about all the new series you admire. I remember Stealth Symphony being called a "literary masterpiece"

I would like to see WT go on till ch.300 at least. For now it is safe due anime and many newcomers not being as good as hoped. Maybe with enough time it will climb the ranks again and be safe on its own. Still, I find it a shame to see it get an anime so early, and it really got it early, I remember lots of people discussing that back then when the announcement came, just for the anime to be like this, in a time slot hardly anyone watches or most are still sleeping, with an budget so low that it feels like "whatever" and still not in the 150k sells before leaving Oricon Top50.

Maybe the situation will look differently in 6 months, hopefully much better. Right now it looks pretty dark and disappointing though. WT had or even still has a good chance to become the next Naruto, at least it reminds me a lot of the old times when teamfights and wits were important and not who had the biggest jutsu-laser. Maybe once Naruto ends some of its readers will flock to WT?

Not really! It certainly doesn't have as much people as some favored timeslots shows, but significant number of people is awake at that time and even kids.
World Trigger airs at 6.30 a.m. in TV Asahi. At that same spot before it was:
- Matsutarou
- Saint Seiya Omega
- Digimon xros wars
- Hatara Kids My Ham Gumi
- Negibōzu no Asatarō

All of those titles, except Matsutarou and World Trigger that we don't have data, got some times in the top 20 TV rankings and for what I seen got rankings of around 1.4% to 3%.
Is not a star timeslot, but it isn't like a night timeslot either, and it is a well known spot with a good audience.

I dont know if some of you even read WT up to the latest chapter to call it soon to be cancelled series. I cant spoil it but Im sure it will be back on mid(or higher, i hope)rank because its effing epic and exciting. And remember what Hattori sensei said?

Epic and exciting or rushing toward an end? The current arc is the longest by far, and now, for some reason, things are at a sudden turning point. Yes, sudden, because [not much of a spoiler]

You could say that Beelzebub's final fight was epic and exciting as well, but look where that went.

I actually read it and I sincerely think the only actually really good chapter of this whole invasion arc was the last one, and it was mostly because it just means the end of the arc is near... Seriously, WT's biggest problem imo is that it just takes way too many chapters for something actually important to happen, I think we could easily cut like at least 1/3 of the chapters and get to the same place without losing much info
Also, as Stark said, criticizing a series doesn't mean you hate it, it just means you disagree with how some things are done in it
