You can criticize a series whenever you want, just go to the thread or section of the series (the right place to discuss such thing) and post your arguments there. Obviously, you have to be prepared for the answers...

And yes, I agree. It's a popular series, THAT'S A FACT! STRAIGHT UP FACT! And I'm not saying the series will fall apart any time soon. Nope. Matter of a fact, I think the series will become more popular once the anime comes out. Big time. But once that anime series is over, Baku No Hero will be just another fun WSJ series. I'm NOT SAYING IT WILL BE AX, nope-nope, but nobody going to try and copy No Hero.

The hype is coming from how strong it's debut has been, comparing it to giant series of the past. It isn't unfounded in that regard.

Not really. Success means an accomplishment of a goal. The goal of any series, in short, is to end as popular as possible. Neither Reborn nor Bleach accomplished such objective because both were more successful than when they ended (or is now in the case of Bleach). The commercial success of the as series is strongly connected with whether it fills the expectations of the readers or not since they are the one who buy the series. A story that the readers doesn't enjoy is a commercial problem as well.

Even if a series is popular and dies a horrible death, it's still financially viable for the company. Profit is what determines success for Shueisha, nothing else really matters. Especially not what us dorks think of the literary value of <insert series here>.

I agree that the real success for manga is financial success, but even putting that aside, Bleach is successful as a manga with true artistic value.

Many of you may have forgotten how good it was because it's gone to shit since, but scenes like Ichigo saving Rukia from the Sokyoku should go down in history as some of the greatest manga scenes in existence. It's legendary.

It kinda correlates, the success of the magazine is for it's series to be as popular as possible, and the success of a mangaka would be to complete his manga without getting cancelled. By those criteria, Reborn is a success, and it has achieved very good sales as well, at it's best on oricon it has reached 483K and ~600k on the half-yearly sales.

On another note, did anyone read Roggy chapter 2 or Kagamigami chapter 4 and can share any information?

Wow! Chapter 1 of UBS has been amazing,but I think it should be more suitable for a seinen magazine.
But the character of protagonist,the female co-protagonist,the story,the fighting scene.It was all really amazing.It remember me a manga of 1990's.
I wouldn't be surprised if this will be successfull.Cross finger even for this.
So this is the list of what of 4 I liked most:
1Black clover
2Ubs
3Kagamigami
4Roggi
They have all of 4 big potentiality in my opinion,so I would be happy even if one or two of those survived,but if it was for me all four are promoted to a long serialization

Roggy=UBS=Kagamigami>Black clover.
I don't decide with one of the 3 is my favourite for survive, but in my opinion BC is the worst (I hate the characters, the plot is cliche (become the best) and the author don't use the cliche in a good way (one example: Shingeki no Bahamut)).

Because its just that good? I dont see anything wrong with one thinking a series with only two chapters could be a 10/10. I would support such a claim for a few recent series.

Can we stop with those nonsensical questions, whose only purpose is to attack somebody else. It's his subjective opinion, this thread would end in a disaster if we had to question those, especially SharkBaits. ;P

Will have to read the translation next week, but I've enjoyed the first chapter of UBS. Is there more behind the "fighting app", are there any special powers, will we see more of those tactical fights? Let's see at the end of chapter 8-10, if there is really some potential behind the premise.

WOW, I can't recall a serialization round alive enjoyed this much before. This incredible. There are all so distinct and I find redeeming qualities and potential in all of them. On the other hand, it sucks they couldn't be spread out about. The last two serialization rounds were pretty amateurish, with only Gakkyuu Hottei's Art. Man I'm gonna be heartbroken in a few weeks.
