As for Ryoma, that only happened in the anime and furthermore it was at the very beginning of the nationals. Before the national finals he was in Karuizawa, training with Nanjirou (and that's where he lost his memory).
For the difficult question, I assume you answered 3 because there's version A, B and C, but there's the regular version with all nine singing too, so the correct answer would've been 4.
