I wonder if Nakaba isn't setting up a confrontation between Escanor and Mel. I don't think the allusion made to his power is just there for show, maybe when they find Escanor he'll refuse to come back, and he and Mel will be forced to fight. Or it could be that he reacted to the news that Mel is a demon, especially if it turns out he's somehow related to the Goddesses. Would be interesting to see them fight, since they are definitely two of the strongest sins, which automatically places them above other holy knights.Yeah, I agree, the discussion is pointless. Merlin already said that Escabro was the strongest Sin. And since we are using the authors other works as a measure of series progression, in the authors oneshot, Owner of the Sun, the main character, Gawain (who looks like Escabro) slayed a demon dragon with a power strangely similar to Sunshine, which obviously means, at the end of the Nanatsu no Taizai, Escabro will destroy Mel in a battle since the oneshot ended like that. The sword he used to kill the demon dragon even had a face on it, similar to Rhitta. I don't know about you guys, but that's all the proof I need and you know what, it's more closely related to Nanatsu no Taizai because of the time period, which makes me doubly correct. Prove me right!
The way Hendrickson calls him "Sir Escanor" means he respects him, what if of all the sins Escanor was the one who acted really like a knight? I don't think we've seen enough of him in the special to completely dismiss that. Also could be he fears his power, which isn't surprising. He did look tense while saying that.
