I sat in a statistics course with someone who was trying their hardest to get me to read Lone Wolf and Cub and I couldn't it was too old and the art was fairly bad.

I also did attempt to read a Osamu Tezuka work and similar to the above statement its age made it hard for me to get into anything and the character designs were woefully lacking as well.

Fukumoto works would have the same problem, do you really think people would ignore that art style and character design to actually give the series a chance? It seems very doubtful and similar to why I have never tried one.

Ive tried and dropped manga/anime with all female/mostly female cast, just couldnt keep my interest as they are boring and if I cant get behind a character why keep reading it? The stories are flawed at the core. Same for nonhumans as well. Day Break Illusion - il sole penetra le illusioni is the only show where a nearly all female cast has kept my interest, and same for the first three episodes of madoka magica but then it became really terrible and bad since the rest of the cast is aggravating and annoying.

I don't see anything wrong with that. If a writer wants to write a good manga then they should include hot boys. It doesnt seem hard to write a good manga imo but so many writers fail.

People seems to be sure that Assassination Classroom and Gintama are going to end this year. How AC is going? I stopped reading it when that competition to decide whether they would kill Korosensei or not ended. It is definitely near of ending?
Gintama is don't know anything about... People say that it is ending for a long time now...

Katekyo Hitman Reborn!-23 volumes-19 million, avg- 826k
Toriko- 30 volumes- 20 million, avg- 666k
Fairy Tail - 35 volumes - 25 million, avg- 714k

Don't really care about those shitty discussion of which sells 50-100k more and is the uber super cool series due to that. But when you compare, at least compare things correctly. Reborn is 42 vols, not 23. At it's end, its sales started to decline. Just like now Toriko sales have declined. So either compare the sales of Reborn for 42 vols or for Toriko in it's 20th vol. You either compare both at it's prime or both at it's decline, not one in it's prime (by ignoring half of it's vols) and the other in it's decline. And then you go and blame the other person of comparing Toriko in it's best and others in it's worse, while you just did the opposite of that, nice!

I think everybody already noticed that Toriko is declining, but I think that it is still going better than Reborn when it comes to position in the TOC. Reborn was permanent resident of the bottom, while Toriko falls there sometimes, but it is in the middle or above most of the time.Still, it really feels like it is ending, maybe in a year or so...
As for sales, I always following them and Toriko always gives the impression that it is falling, but I would have to put all the day side by side to see.

Happy new year everyone
there were many disappointments last year, especially from the returning mangakas (kagami/bc/platinum end/best blue/buddy strike...).
you know last year was bad when the best manga I read in 2015 which came out in 2015 is (Tomo-chan wa Onnanoko) which is a friggin' 4-koma from a friggin' ****** artist.
well, here's to hoping for a better 2016

Yeah, I agree that 2015 was kinda disappointing, but there were also some positive surprises. Among the new series, I'm enjoying Mononofu in Weekly Jump, Platinum End in Jump SQ, Ad Astra Per Aspera in Weekly Sunday, and just before the end of the year we got a new Shinobu Kaitani series in Weekly Magazine. And, even if most new series weren't really good, a lot of good manga were animated and became more popular last year.

Well, I also hope for a better 2016 in the manga world. Last year there were some interesting oneshots so let's see if they will be able to become good serializations this year.

Unless the newest nisekoi chapter is putting us on an onodera route then I doubt nisekoi is ending this year. It wont end until ichijou realizes his romance feelings for her his first love. I pray mondays chapter puts us on a non gorilla path.

They had an arc to "kill off" Marika forever by sending her to a different continent. The teacher, forgot her name, lost too. Tsugumi never had a chance. Onodera never took part in anything important in months. Everyone else like Onodera's sisters or some minor female character like her are like Tsugumi, no chance.
And in the last chapter it literally ended with "This is love." while the MC looked at Chitoge.

This won't take any longer to end, but it still took too long.

Nisekoi is going to its third year of school where everything that has yet to be settled, will be settled. I don't think that the series is going to end before the end of the third year according to my theories of where Komi Naoshi is going to take the story, but it all depends on the next chapter which I'm going to read Monday. However, it is safe to say that it is going to end this year.
