When was it ever stated that Gray was holding back? Ur still overpowered Gray and Lyon in a couple of exchanges.

Even with DeS mode, Gray's feats are still only comparable to base Natsu's.
It was implied in the CR translation, while Gray himself is literally able to eat Ur's magic. Gray hasn't gone all out yet so I doubt he would have great feats yet.

Why does it need to be stated? Pantherlily sparred evenly with Erza, so we can say Erza held back, same thing here. Gray was holding back against Ul immensely even in base, that is fact. Hidn't use any of his usual strong ice make attacks/no Ds/Demon mode, no DeS Spells in DeS Mode and was slated in one position instead of going with his usual charging.
So I guess Natsu didn't held back on Bluenote right?

What does that have to do what I said?

Gray was holding back against Ul immensely even in base, that is fact...,are you clueless? He didn't use any of his usual strong ice make attacks/no Ds/Demon mode, no DeS Spells and was slated in one position instead of going with hhis usual charging. This is proof right here, something that you keep denying because it doesn't suit your bias. Ul was defeated by the time of the unison raid. Mashima doesn't need to elaborate on something that is obvious.

Erza's enemies disappeared because she had the will to defeat them. Ul disappeared by the time Lyon's will was strong enough to get over her along with the attacks. That is enough evidence that all the historias were defeated mostly due to will-power and of Neinhart's defeat. Ul was defeated by the former with Erza's defeating those three as the former as well.

That was not a Natsu lightning attack. That was Natsu fired attack with embued lightning. Dual modes, are different than pure modes. Base Natsu Mode and FDKM rely on power. Once Natsu is in trouble or gets fully serious he relies on FDKM. He was using FDKM mode in both scenarios, the only difference is the magical power. Magical power from Igneel was used to fight Zeref, compared to Natsu using his own magical power to face those armies. Difference.
UR DID NOT DISAPPEAR BEFORE NEINHART WAS DEFEATED. I seriously can't believe I have to keep explaining this to you. If we don't SEE her disappear before Neinhart was defeated, then you can't claim that she did. You keep bringing up this point as if it were fact when you have no evidence whatsoever that she was defeated by Gray and Lyon. We don't see her disappearing, we don't see her defeated, heck, we don't even see her take any damage throughout the entire fight. So you claiming that she was beaten before Neinhart was is definitely an assumption.

If that didn't count as a Natsu lightning attack, then what does? When have we ever seen Natsu use LFDM attacks that aren't just fire with some lightning in them? Were you expecting to see a pure lightning attack?

So if Natsu was in FDKM before he fought Zeref, then why did he go into it again? And don't tell me "oh it's because he was unleashing Igneels power" because he was clearly using Igneel's power BEFORE he went FDKM.

Do you not understand the situation and context? I can't believe I have to explain this to you very clearly. Lyon overcame Ul thanks to having a strong will to defeat her+ combination of attacks used to punt Ur. Erza had the strong will to defeat Ikaruga, Azuma and Kyouka because she got over the emotional trauma Kyouka laid upon her, both situations are extremely similar. The fight was more of a emotional one to begin not a physical one like the others. They held back hence that's why Ur was not damaged, until Lyon resolved the issues, and Ur got pastered.

It's a pure flame type attack with slight embued lightning. The spell itself is fire based. Which is much different than pure lightning+fire mix, good job in contradicting yourself.

He went to it again, to borrow Igneel's powers and use it against Zeref. Common sense.

Where? In any case, Natsu hasn't gone all out either. Not going all out is not the same as holding back immensely. I can accept that Gray didn't go all out, because he wasn't putting in max effort. However, there's no evidence that he was holding back immensely. Given how much resistance Ur gave him, mid-difficulty should be more than fair.

It needs to be stated otherwise it's just an assumption.

It means, I considered Ice-Devil Slaying magic in my analysis.

I looked at the panels, Natsu was using primarily fire dragon slaying magic and it's tints of lightning embued. Elemental embued is different than a FDKM fucking spell. That was Base Natsu with primarily fire.
Raienryu = Lightning Flame-Dragon
No Gekitetsu = Iron Strike.

This is the same technique Natsu used against Jackal and Mard Geer.

Gray held back immsensely. Show me how many ice attacks Gray used in the fight outside of a low key move as Ice Geyser. Show me where Gray was charging against Ul in his base mode.

Sure, then I guess Natsu didn't held back against Bluenote, because it wasn't stated. That's your logic.

Not an assumption, when you use common sense.

Thanks for helping me out. It's now clear that Natsu used LFD Mode against Gemma.

Natsu has gone all out, BDKM or whatever is called is him going all out. Gray was holding back a lot, the second he peeped talked Lyon he beat her straight away along with Lyon, if he was serious he would of just eaten all of Ur's attacks.

Again, NO PROOF. We can definitely say that Erza defeated her Historias because we SAW THEM DISAPPEAR. We DID NOT SEE Ur take damage, we DID NOT SEE Ur get defeated, and we DID NOT SEE Ur disappear before Neinhart was beaten. Look at Ur when Gray and Lyon used their final moves against her. Does it look like she took any damage at all?

And why are you saying Lyon defeated her now? You're seriously confusing me at this point. Are you saying that Gray could beat Ur, or that Lyon could beat Ur?

We know that Natsu wasn't going all out against Bluenote because later, he STATES that he "didn't even get a chance to get warmed up" meaning that Bluenote wasn't even a warm-up to him.

Did you even read my reply? Natsu was using Igneel's power BEFORE he went FDKM.

How is it not proof? The point of the fight against Ur was overcoming the mental hurdle akin to how Erza overcame the mental hurdle in defeating her past opponents with her will power. We saw Ul get punted out of the way, not disappear. Those weren't final attacks from Lyon-Gray, they were simply a unison raid of attacks.

Gray on his own can defeat Ur in Base, Lyon got over the mental hurdle of Ur and Gray supported him in taking her down. Simple.

Based on Axiomus's response, It's now clear that Natsu used LFDMode against Gemma. Your arguments have been debunked.
Natsu wasn't using Igneel's magical reserves before he went FDKM.

Sure. Natsu didn't hold back against Bluenote. Holding back would be like against Ajeel's troops, where the manga goes out of their way to say that they had to conserve power. There's a difference between holding back immensely and not going all out.

This still doesn't change the fact Natsu had less difficulty with Bluenote than Gray had with Ur. Natsu oneshotted Bluenote while holding Chelia up by the shirt. Gray defeated Ur with Lyon, after having been overpowered in a few exchanges. I'm willing to say that Gray did more damage, and didn't receive any major damage. However, the amount of resistance Ur gave her still makes this fall in the mid-difficulty range.

There is no more reason to assume that Fire Dragon King spells is Natsu going all out anymore than there is any reason to assume that going in DeS mode is Gray going all out. FDK mode is a mode just like LFD mode is a mode. Natsu has still yet to use multiple FDK spells in a fight, or use any secret arts in that mode.

You can use FDK spells without entering FDK mode the same way you can enter LFD spells without entering LFD mode.

You just said that since it hasn't been stated, it's an assumption. So your claims over Natsu's behalf is an assumption The difference is how many attacks you use even in your regular mode. The fact is Gray used ONE single spell, and that happened to be one of his low key low tier ones.
Gray using Base itself is holding back, and then not using a single medium or high level spell even in base means he was holding back immensely, especially because he's not resorting to DeS mode or using his medium or high tiered ice make attacks in base.

Gray held back, hence he was overpowered. Stop saying that it means something. Overpowering a character who's holding back immsenselly means nothing. If Gray was taking Ul seriously even in his base mode by releasing spells outside of Ice Make Geyser, then you can rate the difficulty of the fight, otherwise, you can not especially when gauge all the aspects of how the fight went and transpired.

Des Mode Gray has yet to use his secret techs or multiple attacks.

My arguments have been debunked? Huh? You know what you just did? You used Natsu using a LFD move as proof that he was in the mode, which IS LITERALLY WHAT WE'VE BEEN ARGUING ABOUT. My whole argument has been saying that Natsu DOESNT need to be in the mode to use the move. You used your opinion to try and prove that that very same opinion is true.

No it's not that simple because WE HAVE NO PROOF THAT UR WAS DEFEATED. Just because Lyon was facing a mental barrier DOES NOT MEAN that if he got over that barrier then he would be able to defeat Ur. Do we have proof that Lyon was being held back emotionally? Sure. Does that automatically mean that once he gets past that, he's able to defeat Ur? NO.

Natsu WAS using Igneel's power before he went FDKM. Natsu was kicking Zeref's ass, so Zeref asked Natsu about his magical power. Natsu said that it was power he inherited from Igneel. THEN he goes FDKM.

Gray didn't defeat Ur, he along with Lyon low-diffed her, once they got serious. Gray didn't put much effort into facing Ur to begin with, when he played the motivating friend to overcome emotions role and held back psychologically, mentally and physically.

and remember Gray is still has his DeS mode, which he hasn't been using because none of the situations has forced him to use it outside of the Ajeel skirmish something that impressed Ajeel which is also a feat considering Ajeel is the cocky type.

\

Protrayal is a feat. We know both are around the same level of difficulty shown to face each other. Same as Base Gajeel being equal to Cobra on portrayal on the spin off make. That's all that's required to be put on each other's level. Combat feats belong in vs thread where Base Gajeel has more feats than Cobra in that regard.

You still haven't proved that Base Natsu can use lightning spells.

I said, do you have a problem if someone says Gray and Gajeel are on Base Natsu tier?, which is different than being on Base Natsu's level. I'm arguing Gray is on Base Natsu level meaning equal level like it's a toss-up draw. Being on his tier means you can give Base Natsu a high diff fight.
Plus Gray has the slaying advantage to pound Natsu with Natsu being half etherious, this is fact.

We just saw Natsu getting pissed off and angered and dedicated this spell to his father king of Flame Dragons Igneel for this purpose alone, which hints that Natsu wasn't in his base.
This is FDKM Natsu using FDKM spells against WarGod. Don't deny canon material.
Post panels of what makes them different. Side by side immediately. Appearance and magic wise they aren't any differences. so yeah FDKM Mode Natsu can only use FDKM spells.

On the other hand we know Base Gray can use DeS Spells (shown against Ur) while Gray can use much stronger enhanced version of that spell against Ur with his DeS mode.Based on his hair and markings.

What's the difference between Natsu using FDK spells in his spell? You want to know the answer? it's non-existent, meaning Base Natsu using FDKM spells doesn't exist.
This is not overhyping. When he activates FDKM he clearly mentions it and we see an immense aura coming from his body that evaporates a lake(a mountain level feat) and burns a Spriggan.I will give you an example. The panel you posted where he destroyed Ikusa he used FDK Spell there was no mention of FDKM.Can you show me otherwise. On the other hand in chapter 464 he for the first time he showed FDKM.Immense aura in the picture of FDKM and FDK Spell in Base clearly distinguishes it.

Do you recount that you originally said Natsu in Base can use lighting attacks? Then you resorted to using the Gemma reference. You're contradicting yourself again by changing the context around. Natsu used LFD Mode, thanks to Axiomus's translating the spell.

We have proof that UL was defeated because one reason to defeat She was dispersed the same way Kyouka, Ikaruga and Azuma were disperesed. Lyon overcame it, Gray assisted him. Simple as that. Tell me how Erza defeated the three then? She beat him through mental alone, the same way Lyon broke through the mental barrier while Gray assisted him.

. Natsu revealed his bandage against Zeref from the start and started kicking his ass. He was using FDKM from the start of the battle, and to the end of it. The tattoo has the form of a dragon king. Heavily implied he didn't start at Base.

How are they an assumption? Bluenote though that Natsu was dangerous because Natsu reminded him of Gildarts, and tried to crush him. Natsu overpowered his attempt, and then oneshotted him. He was doing all this while holding Chelia up by the back of her shirt. Gray was being pushed back by Ur, who overpowered him on some exchanges. Then, with Lyon's help, managed to take down Ur. Natsu had considerably less difficulty with Bluenote than Gray had with Chelia.

Now, notice how I didn't say Natsu was holding back, much less holding back immensely? There's no reason to assume he was holding back. There's a difference between holding back and not going all out. Natsu roared at Bluenote as seriously as he would roar at anyone else. Bluenote simply couldn't push Natsu to the point where he was going all out, because all it took was one clean hit to take him down. This is an example of when someone was holding back immensely:

And just like there was no proof that Natsu was holding back immensely for Ur, there's also no proof Gray was holding back immensely for Ur. Gray wasn't going all out either with Ur, but there was no reason to believe he was holding back.

Oh my god. Your reasoning for Natsu being in LFDM against Jemma is because of Natsu using a LFD move. But why? Why does Natsu using a move automatically mean that he's in that mode? That's literally what we've been arguing about.

Show me the panel where Ur was dispersed like Azuma and the rest and I'll agree with you. You know how we know Erza beat her Historia? BECAUSE WE SAW THEM GET DEFEATED. The two scenarios are completely different; stop comparing the two and using that as evidence.

So are you saying that Natsu yelling "BLAZE DRAGON KING MODE" in the middle of his fight with Zeref had absolutely no meaning all? My god.

How are they an assumption? I haven't made any assumptions. Bluenote though that Natsu was dangerous because Natsu reminded him of Gildarts, and tried to crush him. Natsu overpowered his attempt, and then oneshotted him. He was doing all this while holding Chelia up by the back of her shirt. This is an example of when someone was holding back immensely:
All this equates to Gray holding back immensely or by a very good margin:

The fact is Gray used ONE single spell, and that happened to be one of his low key low tier ones. Gray using Base itself is holding back, and then not using a single medium or high level spell even in base means he was holding back immensely, especially because he's not resorting to DeS mode or using his medium or high tiered ice make attacks in base.

The fact that Gray rather spend time talking to Lyon than fighting Ur is even more evident that Gray was holding back immensely.

"Why does Natsu using a move automatically mean that he's in that mode?" Because we need to be clear and certain that he's using Base or is in that mode;

Tell me how Erza defeated the trio then. Answer the question.
Why does it need to be shown? Does Ul getting punted not meaning to you? The scenarios of the two are very similar, especially from the mental aspects of it.

It does have meaning, it's just Natsu is using every one of his last magic of Igneel to Zeref, and announcing to Zeref the mode he's using when Zeref asked him about his newfound powers.. Doesn't change the claim that he wasn't using FDKM earlier.

Again, where's the proof that Gray held back immensely? Just because you didn't go all out doesn't mean you held back immensely. There's a middle ground. That's what mid-difficulty is for.

Of course getting overpowered in a few exchanges means something. It means if Gray faced someone like Bluenote, he wouldn't be able to just casually neglect someone like Bluenote's attempt to crush him by throwing a random punch his way. It would take effort on Gray's part. He wouldn't be able to just pick up Lyon lazily by the shirt, and roar him away.

Let me ask you something. Where does Ice Devil's Zero Longsword rank on Gray's list of spells? Where does a normal fire dragon's roar rank on Natsu's list of spells?

"Why does Natsu using a move automatically mean that he's in that mode?" Because we need to be clear and certain that he's using Base or is in that mode;

You know how we can tell if Natsu's in a certain mode? When he yells the name of the mode. If Natsu could enter his different modes without saying it then there would literally be no reason for him to say it at all throughout the entire manga. We've had multiple occasions of Natsu yelling the name of his mode before going into it. Are you saying that during the other times, Natsu was already in the mode and he was just saying the name because he felt like it?

Ur getting punted means nothing to me because WE DONT SEE HER GET PUNTED. We don't see her take any damage at all from Gray and Lyon's attacks, so you can't claim that she got punted.

Natsu wasn't just announcing that he was already in FDKM, he was going into it. There is a clear change in magical power once Natsu yells it; he gains a destructive aura thing around him and the ground gets set on fire.

Different cases meet Different results. Which brings to my single point. Natsu used DFKM mode against War Good, because of the spell itself and the name of it. Natsu used LFD Mode against Gemma, because of the spell itself. Spell is more than enough to dictate which mode the character is in regardless of whether he announces it or not. There are special conditions, like change of appearance (and to a lesser extent magical presense) that indicates which mode the character is in where spell name isn't required.

She got punted away. Read Chapter 484, page 16. Don't waste my time.

Natsu was already into it, when he took off the bandages and revealed it. When he revealed the tattoo, it was clear that he was into it.

He didn't even go all out in his base mode. Let alone use DeS. You would've have a point IF we See Gray attacking Ul in base with something that isn't low key. like Gray using ice make attacks (high-medium end) against Ur. The fact that he didn't do this, proves my point. Gray in both of his modes, didn't muster a single spell outside of a lowkey one, and you have the nerve to say he wasn't holding back immensely?

I just provided the damn proof. I literally posted it twice for you to understand, and yet you again telling me where's the proof?
Here simple terms
-Base Mode Gray (Again holding back from using DeS)
-Lack of any high term or medium spells in Base
-The fact that Gray rather spend time talking to Lyon than fighting Ur is even more evident that Gray was holding back immensely.
-The fact Gray doesn't even charge in base is full proof of that. He is just in casual stationary position, convincing Lyon the whole time do snap out of it. Which he has been doing for the whole fight.
Does that look like someone who's holding back immensely? Damn right it does. Nothing you say can change that.

Your Natsu example doesn't apply because he was using his MP sized roar to
disintegrate him.

You originally stated that since it hasn't been stated it's an assumption, so Natsu was not holding back when he fought Bluenote.
