Holy moly, this is the toughest fight so far in this tournament:eek: and I am still absolutely indecisive:hi!!!

Attack power: Laxus=Jella ( both are trully impressive and it's hard to tell which one is better / Laxus has better finisher spells for a 1vs1 but Jellal has better AoE spells)
Defense power: Laxus>Jellal
Magic power: Laxus=Jellal ( Their mp should be the same, I just see no difference between them)
Endurance: Laxus>Jellal ( Jellal has as well good durability but Laxus has the best endurance of the good guys in ft so far)
Speed: Laxus<Jellal ( Laxus is fast but Jellal is probably the quickest good guy in ft so far)
Intelligence: Laxus<Jellal ( Laxus isn't stupid but Jellal thinks and uses more strategies in battle)
Versatility: Laxus=Jellal ( both can use many different spells which are destructive, too )
Laxus vs Jellal / 2:2

One of them wins this with totally max high diff!!!
I guess, that the winner will the person who gets as first the chance to use his mightiest spell to finish off his enemy ( fairy law vs sema which one will hit first:gaw!?!?!?).

It's speed but you could consider it defense, Jura sent loads of those rocks at him and he managed to set GC up before he got hit.
Not really, while that is semi decent he still got tagged in the end, Laxus has outspend stronger people.

Voted for Jellal.
Let's compare their feats. Before timeskip Jellal was portrated to be a lot stronger then Laxus. In his boss fight he was against DF Natsu and Erza and hold back his power not to ruin tower. He survived Etherion cannon explosition from Counsil and manage to keep Natsu and Erza save from it. While he was badly damaged after self-destruction spell and fight with Midnight, his power was enough to activate DF mode of Natsu and Natsu told it feels like etherion itself. He could destroy mountain in age 10 and was portrated a lot stronger then Brain. He could easy win GMG Jura (with Sema but no killing intent). He took 4 of OS. Also his mere projection was considered WS lvl. Lexus in his boss fight took Gageel and normal Natsu while not being restricted himself adide of fairy law. He could destroy all Magnolia with thunder palace yet this spell require a lot of lacrimia and time to charge them all. He survived Hades amaterasu 100. He win GMG Jura with high dif. He took solo all Raven Tail. So it is clearly that before current arc Jellal was ahead.
Now what we have in current arc:
Jellal oneshoted Ninehart with GC. Sime people say that Nineharts durability is shit yet it was never portrated so in manga. Ninehart is Sprigan and if overwise is not stated in manga his durability and attack power is above mere mortals (fore example Jura). And Jellal GC was in full power first time in series: even sky became clear and stars responded to his power. So it is not surprise he can oneshoted Sprigan as he could took out tower of heaven. And GC is his main casual spell. Jellal was struck while defending Kagura and fall underwater. Yet water in lungs is not about durability. Before timeskip he took Counsil Etherion explosition and survived and now he is stronger so he has immence durability.
Laxus could potentially oneshot Ajeel with unnamed casual spell. Also in battle with Wahl he managed to win high dif yet it was unfait fight due to Wahls lightning immunity. Durability: laxus took wahls attacks and survived.
IMHO even now Jellal is slightly above Laxus:
Both have immense magic and attack power.
Both have immence durability.
Both have immence spead but Jellal can cast while meteor is active and laxus cant while in lightning body, only when he materialise. Yet non lightning body Laxus still can enchant speed with lightning.
Jellal has more different spells and scools of magic then Laxus.
Jellal is smarter then Laxus as it was portraited Jellal is "mastermind" type, Laxus is far from being a fool tho.
So while it is hard to say who win I give this to Jellal cause IMHO Jellal wins 51 of 100 their fights. Laxus could also win of cause but IMHO has less possibility to do so.

I think anyone would have got tagged tbh, that many projectiles being thrown at you at those speeds, I think that's pretty tough to avoid.

No, they are multiple people who have dodged rapid fire projectiles.

Nonsense portrayal?

Could you provide some examples? I can't really think of any but I have a crappy memory so I'll happily concede if so. :)

Jellal was rekted by DF Natsu. Laxus lost against Natsu and Gajeel with usual PIS. his one roar incapacitated both Natsu and Gajeel, not to mention that he tanked both Gajeel's and Natsu's roar with no damage. then he wanted to be stupid and wasted his power on Fairy Law.

pre Laxus and Jellal are now irrelevant.

I blame mashima for knocking out Jellal with an unnamed attack from Neinheart just so he could reconcile him and kagura. Jellal survived far more destructive attacks in the past, how the hell did he got taken out by that unnamed attack from neinheart? his durability should be on par if not above laxus. for every other stats I think they're really close but jellal is slightly above laxus.

I give this to Jellal with extreme high diff

This is a difficult decision tbh. Both are pretty strong, but I think seeing Jellal is a bit faster with Meteor he could avoid some of Laxus' attacks, and thus he'd eventually win in a tough fight.

People saying Jellal was portrayed above Laxus because of their fights. Jellal fought DF Natsu and got stomped from start to finish while Laxus fought Natsu and Gajeel and was stomping them and only lost due to expending too much MP on FL and everything else.

why does everyone think that Meteor is the define factor here???? Jura threw a bunch of rocks at him and he managed to hit him. Laxus' one nuke can cover a lot of area and he would have been definitely caught by it.

Ah right, thought that you were addressing part of my argument there lol. Tbh the fights can't really be compared, it relies to much on whether DF Natsu is better than Gajeel and Natsu and about other factors like the sword slice Jellal took, how serious Laxus was, etc.

Jellal has always been stronger than Laxus, and this is spamming from the first moment he appeared in the series:
-His thought projection was able to fool everyone in the Magic Council, Makarov included, while when Laxus used a thought projection in the Fighting Festival Arc, Makarov was able to deduce it pretty easily..
-He had an easier time against Jura in the GMG than Laxus did on the last day
-He one shotted a Spriggan 12 member while Laxus had to use Red Lightning to beat Wahl, after a fight in which he nearly died
So final verdict, Jellal is definitely going to win this

Jellal use strong spell with huge power up from clear sky to defeat Neinheart (spriggan with low def).
Laxus oneshot 2 of spriggans with casual attacks. Yes, Red Lightning is casual attack. Laxus use it to be able to do damage to Wahl. Laxus' strongest attack is Roaring Thunder. And even Dragon Jaw is much stronger than RL.

Ranged: Laxus = Jellal (I believe that Jellal has the stronger ranged spells with Grand Chariot and Sema, but Laxus has more free reign over the very skies, he can simply raise a hand and drop huge bolts of lightning with complete ease, not to mention his Roar and Heavenward Halberd )

CQC: Laxus >> Jellal (I think we can all agree on this one)

Speed: Laxus =< Jellal (Meteor may just edge lightning body in speed but lightning body isn't far off at all, I think that Meteor is faster in combat, but the only problem with it is we haven't seen him use it while in CQC or while casting a spell, he can use it to draw magic circles but he hasn't shown the ability to cast spells while in that form and that's a big problem)

Durability: Laxus >>> Jellal (If what Neinhart did knocked him out, then the casual Laxus bolt most certainly will do the job, Jellal's durability is sub-par compared to all his other fantastic stats, Laxus has some of the best durability feats in the series)

Stamina: Laxus >> Jellal (Laxus could fought on par with a Spriggan who had a natural advantage against him while he was in so much pain because of the magic barrier particles, he defeated the Spriggan and after that, he managed to stand and defeat Hades, that is some of the best stamina shown in this series, I can't actually remember someone doing something better)

Intelligence: Laxus < Jellal (Outside of battle, I would most certainly give Jellal the edge, but inside battle, they are very comparable, but the masterclass that Jellal pulled against the Oracion Seis is what tips this in his favour, Laxus tactic against Wahl is perhaps veiwed as equally brilliant because we simply did not expect him to pull off something so clever, hats off to both of them in this department)

Diversity: Laxus < Jellal (Laxus has normal lightning, dragon slayer lightning, red lightning, fairy law, runes, organic link and thought projection. Jellal has thought projection, true heavenly body, water magic, earth magic, fire magic, dark magic, telekenisis and telepathy. He takes this.)

Magic Power: Laxus = Jellal (They are comparable)

DC: Laxus <= Jellal (I think Sema had more destructive capacity, but Laxus' casual nuke wasn't far off)

AP: Laxus >> Jellal (Laxus has some of the best attack potency in the series, Roaring Thunder downed the 5th wizard saint and Red Lightning basically one-shot a spriggan and there's also Jaw of the Lightning Dragon that downed Hades and Tempesta, the only potent attack that Jellal has that I can think of is grand chariot)

Laxus' primary fighting style is to immediately go straight for the opponent with lightning body, if Jellal engages in CQC then he'll straight up lose because Laxus outclasses him in CQC and a punch or a kick that Laxus lands will be devastating for him because his durability isn't impressive at all.
His only option would be to use meteor to get away, Laxus would pursue in order to engage in CQC his next option would be to use to cast grand chariot, this will be hard with someone as quick as Laxus on his tail, if he does draw the circles and casts the spell, I'm pretty sure Laxus would dodge it because grand chariot is a spell that is fixed to 7 different points on the ground, a guy like Laxus should easily be able to dodge a spell like that, Jellal would need to find a way to get himself far enough away from Laxus and cast Sema, that would be extremely difficult with Laxus so close behind him, if he stops to cast it, then Laxus catches him and destroys him in CQC. He isn't outrunning Laxus becaus he will run out of stamina before someone like Laxus, if he somehow gets far enough and begins casting Sema, a Roar, Heavenward Halberd or a casual Laxus nuke coming his way would end him. This is Jellal's problem, if he could withstand some of Laxus' attacks then he could quite possible win but his durability lets him down. We also don't know if Sema would down someone with Laxus' durability, there's a big chance that it will, but we don't know that.

I compare this fight to a fight between a horseman and an archer , if the archer can get far enough, knot, draw and fire the arrow, then he he could possibly win, but if he can't, then he get's trampled by the horseman and loses.

As wizards, I would give Jellal the edge because of his knowledge and combat prowess, but in a fight, my money is on Laxus.

Laxus wins extreme difficulty

Laxus high to extreme difficulty. While offensively and speed-wise they should be around equals, Laxus seems all the more durable to me. It could go either way really, since I think Jellal has got the edge on MP (Kagura was even shaking at sensing his overflowing MP when mad. But nah, sticking to Laxus overall...

I will not say Jellal's stamina is worse than Laxus. He was soaked in Etherion for few months, casted a self destructive spell on himself and after that gave a little bit of energy to Natsu who entered DF and defeated Zero.Neinhart's spell didn't actually defeat him.He was just knocked in the sea and the poor guy didn't know how to swim.:p
This situation is one of the few unreal feats in the manga (the etherion thing, can't remember exactly what happened or if it was explained). That tower had huge MP. I mean Natsu went DF off a few chunks, that would be equivalent to Jellal's MP. That said I don't use it as an endurance feat when we're talking about combat. A brief fight with Erza + fighting DF Natsu was something Jellal couldn't endure (ToH version).

I agree with Neinhart's "drowning" of Jellal. This shouldn't be a cop out on Jellal as he was submerged and simply ran out of oxygen (IIRC Natsu and others were drowned in Torafusa's curse but Gajeel didn't). Although I will say this certainly doesn't help Jellal either.

Maybe Jellal didn't take any swimming lessons so if Laxus punches him into a lake then it's a oneshot :) <= obviously not.

I pretty much agree to that. On the MP I would say they're comparable but if I had to say who has more I would say Jellal as well. But with their amount of power and how close it would be, it nearly becomes irrelevant. They can probably do things easily/casually that will do a lot of damage to the other.

Lol i agree with Laxus one shotting him in lake. But he was soaked in Etherion for many days in one portion of the tower. His skin was strong enough to endure it.

Damn this fight is... Really hard. By far the hardest fights we've had in the tournament so far.

I agree with pretty much everything that has been said in this thread, so right now i really can't decide. In any case the winner if the 1v1 would have an extreme difficulty.

I feel like Laxus' better durability could make him have the upper hand. He has been proving over and over again, how durable he is. Whereas Jellal got knocked out by a random spell from Neinhart.
But Meteor is a highly versatile spell, can be used for offense and in order to increase Jellal's evasion tremendously...

I... Just don't know yet. This battle is really difficult.

Grand Chariot is a basic spell from Jellal, it doesn't exactly take a lot of time to power up, and this time considering he didn't hold back like all the other instances he used it in, it's pretty safe to say Jellal's spells are more destructive than they look...
By portrayal of feats, NeinHart is stronger than Azir or Wahl, think about it, he was able to fight an entire front on his own, consisting of several S-class and high tier mages while Azir had his hands full simply by fighting Team Natsu and a retreating Makarov, and Wahl (fake) was beaten by only 4 mages while the real one had his hands full fighting Laxus..
Jellal taking out NeinHart is more impressive than Laxus taking out either Ajeel or Wahl since Neinhart is stronger than them
