Yes, Natsu was holding back. So?

The point of the mater is, even if he were holding back, the only reason Jacob lost was because Lucy & Happy came to save the day and plot. Without them, Natsu is on a one-way ticket to being transported.
The point is you are underestimating BKDM Natsu when he never failed to 1 shot anyone based on a false resolution
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---
eh Natsu needed to use his strongest mode (excluding DF) with one of his strongest attacks to finish him off so saying that he beat Jacob with little effort or easily is bullshit.
if this is bs then all of your assumptions and drama about Jellal > Natsu are just as bad

I never even said anything regarding speculations. I just said Jellal wins. I don't wanna argue in this kind of debates, especially when it come to Plotsu.

Yupp, even in your manga panels the tower is still there completely in tact. Yes, Natsu did some good amount of internal damage. But to say he destroyed? That's a bad choice of words.
So according to you TOH Natsu and Tartaros Natsu is same.No improvement in power?

Even Bluenote is small city level.Base Natsu is city level because he Engulfed the entire GMG arena in flames from casually releasing some of his magic, and GMG arena is as large as a city.Effortlessly oneshoted Bluenote, who almost stalemated Gildarts, who casually accidentally completely destroyed a small mountain in one blow.Even Acnologia is no country level and you think Jellal is?
No, I'm just saying there wasn't much that happened in the Tartarus DF (as it was so short) that didn't happen in the ToH DF. I'm sure there were more power behind his attacks, but we did not gain much new information.

I mean Jacob is an easy target for Natsu and one shotable material for Natsu in BDKM that's why Hiro wrote he was holding back. Are you reading a different manga ?
Give me a sound argument as to how Natsu wouldn't fall prey to Jacob's hax. Then question whether I'm reading a different manga, because I could say the same to you!

As @Rain Cloud very well mentions, Natsu only won because of plot. Or will you tell me that Happy preventing a Spriggan from using his magic is not plot?

ToH DF and Tartarus DF are very different, ToH DF used the Etherion charged Lacrima to give Natsu an extreme boost to his Magic Power putting him into DF. Tartarus DF happened because Gray's apparent 'death' emotionally invoked DF which ran off Natsu's own MP instead of being super charged by Etherion. ToH DF definately had more power behind it relative to Natsu's power level at the time.

I don't know what you are talking about when you claim that the GMG arena is as big as a city. Does the arena here:
look anywhere near as big as this?:

Like, you can even just look at the first image to see how tiny the arena is compared to Crocus (which probably isn't even big enough to be considered a city by real-life standards).

Correct, Etherion gave Natsu a power boost in MP only, which allowed him to maintain the DF longer, by no means gave him a power boost in 'general' (speed, attack or durability wise) any more than emotion-triggered DF. The only difference being that, while the two types of DF spend the same amount of MP, if it is triggered by pure magic, then it kind of fills your MP gauge.

Well not instantly, but the tower was crumbling and about to be destroyed, and that was from TOH DF Natsu's punch, so wouldn't you say that current Natsu, who dwarfs TOH DF Natsu in power(even in base mode), could destroy the thing with demolition fist?

I will hereby kill your entire argument in one sentence.

No Fight was ever won by anything else than plot.

So now that your argument is lying dead on the ground let me kick it a little more, k?

Your entire point about that Natsu won because of Plot has a grand total of NO relevance whatsoever because the Plot demanded Natsu to punch Jacobs Face to what would normally equal mashed potatoes. Jellal only Beat Neinhart because the Plot demanded this to happen to make him look badass. Natsu only beat Bora at the beginning of FT because the plot demanded to show that Natsu is strong as fuck already. Yes guess what the Plot has always and in every time been the driving force of every fight. So please never argue with the plot argument ever again because it hurts your argument more than it helps.

Hmm, well maybe he didn't instantly destroy it, but the fact is, His attack spread throughout the entire tower and it was crumbling and about to be destroyed, and that was from TOH DF Natsu's punch, so wouldn't you say that current Natsu, who dwarfs TOH DF Natsu in power(even in base mode), could destroy the thing with demolition fist?
I said I don't know. I feel like his roar could, since it's an attack like abyss break, but demolition fist is more of a piercing attack.

No, you're wrong Raven. Jacob could easily have clapped his hands together and defeated Natsu the reason Mashima didn't bother to do it? They were on the last page of the chapter. Simple as that, he cut the fight to end there. The whole fight in itself was a disgrace.

Looking at their powers objectively, we can say that Jacob would defeat FDKM Natsu. Unlike Acnologia, FDKM Natsu doesn't have the speed necessarily to over come the time it takes to clap your hands.

Jacob couldn't do shit against BDKM Natsu, Tell me How Jacob will defeat BKDM and you didn't see the extent of BDKM not even DF Natsu ?
Easy. Jacob joins the palms of his hands, sends him to another dimension. By means of stealth, he goes invisible, cuts his neck.

I will hereby kill your entire argument in one sentence.

No Fight was ever won by anything else than plot.
So what? It's not like you """killing""" my argument gives Natsu any more chance to beat Jacob on a 1 vs 1 lol

Your entire point about that Natsu won because of Plot has a grand total of NO relevance whatsoever
So what? As if I'm talking about the relevance it had in the manga... I'm just saying Jacob would beat Natsu on a 1 vs 1.

because the Plot demanded Natsu to punch Jacobs Face to what would normally equal mashed potatoes.
His clothes were burnt save his underwear and yes, he was KOed (not like I'm questioning FDKM's punch being a spriggan-level attack) but he was still in one piece.

Jellal only Beat Neinhart because the Plot demanded this to happen to make him look badass.
It's like you are suggesting that on a 1 vs 1, Neinhart would defeat Jellal; whereas Jellal can defeat all the historias rather easily, as he did with O6; or he can go directly to the main body, or he can cast a large AoE attack that kills all of them at once...

Natsu only beat Bora at the beginning of FT because the plot demanded to show that Natsu is strong as fuck already.
Not like Bora was portrayed as a very strong mage either lol... Besides, beginning of series Natsu was strong but not a big deal either... Macao had finished 19 Vulcans on his own and I'm not sure to what extent beginning of series Natsu would've been able to achieve such a feat before being taken over in the same fashion as Macao haha

Yes guess what the Plot has always and in every time been the driving force of every fight. So please never argue with the plot argument ever again because it hurts your argument more than it helps.
Very well but I was not using plot to defend my argument... It still stands... Jacob is superior to Natsu... not phisically, not in durability, not in attack potence, but in hax.

Simply he will enter BDKM and melt all his weapons, try again

In one of the days in GMG an entire city was hosted in that stadium. This was commented by Gray i think.Infact the concerned person was surprised on seeing a city rising in that stadium.

Alright, that when Jacob uses stealth, and provided Natsu activates BDKM even before he throws the knife.
If he uses space magic, then Natsu is under Jacob's dominion, similar to Erza and Lucy trapped in Marin's dimension. Natsu won't be able to do anything there.

You try again.

@Solitrine I found it it is in the first day of the GMG.I directly quote from the wiki
"Gray steps up as the eight representatives are called out, and is shocked when a huge city is magicked into the arena".

Again with the assumptions and drama ? who told you jacob can overcome Natsu even in his dimenison, he just change places. Natsu can kill Jellal and Jacob in a blink of an eye with a king fire roar. Jellal or Jacob can't endure this.

So Jacob uses Stealth and Natsu is in FDKM. If Jacob used a knife, whats to say it wouldn't just melt like the knife he threw at Lucy at the start of the fight? Even if he did move Natsu to his pocket dimension, its still not certain what goes on there so Natsu's magic could well still work there so he mightn't be able to kill him due to Natsu being able to melt his weapons.

This is my opinion on pre-skip DF Natsu and pre-skip Jellal.... they're both oneshottable by X792 base Natsu.

Other than speed (for meteor and DF), they would stack up quite poorly compared to current Jellal and Natsu.

Think about how strong Jellal is in Tartarus. He wasn't as strong as Gildarts. He'd probably beat Bluenote with high difficulty. Physically, Bluenote would have better feats than Tartarus Jellal. X792 Base Natsu can therefore oneshot Jellal with a roar. Simply put, current Jellal/Natsu would low diff pre-skip Jellal.

So I wouldn't really bother at all with those pre-skip feats. Unless you want to say Jellal and Natsu have their former levels magically and physically... which is obviously not the case.

Jellal and Natsu should have better durability right now. It seems to get better when you train. And we know Natsu trained as much as he could, and it seems Jellal trained a fair bit too.

If you really look at it, ToH vs. Tartarus DF -- the only difference in enhancing Natsu was that we got to see a secret art used the second time.
ToH DF and Tartarus DF are very different, ToH DF used the Etherion charged Lacrima to give Natsu an extreme boost to his Magic Power putting him into DF. This depends on how you want to look at it.

Imo, Tartarus DF >= Etherion DF Natsu. For mine it comes down the amount of scales/dragonification Natsu has undergone. Essentially he's more dragon in Tartarus than he was at the ToH. Mard took on more powerful attacks than Jellal did imo. Of course there is more MP in the ToH version, which is why I put it as >= and not >. The extra MP I believe will allow ToH DF to last longer, but not necessarily be a stronger mode.

Wendy also has 2 stages of DF in X792, and the more dragonised form is the stronger one.

Natsu only won because of plot. Or will you tell me that Happy preventing a Spriggan from using his magic is not plot?
I'd probably use plot as an argument for power ups (like Igneel's MP), but probably not for this. I mean you can just say Natsu didn't solo Jacob, which is true.

You're the one assuming. It's Hiro who had to use Happy to prevent Jacob from using his spatial magic, proving it would be quite the win for Jacob if used.

Who told you Natsu's heat is enough so as to instantaneously melt steel before the top pierces through Natsu?

And agian, you're the one assuming Jellal and Jacob won't be able to tank a king fire roar.

That knife still pierced through Natsu's arm.
