Conspiracy Theory: Togashi was already replaced. The last 11 chapters were only testing if the readers would notice it.

Why would they hamper their own series anyway against Togashi's will?
Hunter x Hunter brings a lot of money when its on.
The sales would probably be hurt if they replaced togashi.
Why would they do that? If HxH is not on, they can just show another series without losing anything.

Anyway, i think atm togashi is collecting enough chapter to finish the boat arc and will come out of hiatus once he has them.

He has been replaced a long time ago. Why does the CA arc tell us that the real Deigo has been gone for decades? Why does Silva tell Killua that Alluka is not human but 'something dark'? It's a clue to tell the readers that the real Togashi has been gone for decades hanging out on a beach somewhere and SJ resorted to summoning an ancient evil to keep churning out HXH.

With all these hints, I'd say it's very likely.

I think togashi will most probably reappear when the tankubon is finished.

I suspected togashi might go for a ten chapter/year schedule, but possibly he will make only shorter haitusses after ten chapters from now on to edit the tankubons and then keep going.

It makes somewhat sense.
Togashi can start all over with everything. he has a lot of playpieces and is not restricted by having killuah and gon as mainchars anymore.
So he can go wild and dark.

What is a nice thing to know to me is that togashi actually works in his hiatusses (if it is true that he already got 12 more chapters prepared)
I do actually think togashi has a plan about how to handle the workload in his lifetime.
I don't think he intends to do another manga (except for a oneshot or something) after HxH, so it is probably better to take his time and nail this one perfectly, even if it takes very long.

No, because Togashi is a stubborn old japanese man who will not stop doing things the way he always did them

I read the source which they relate to. it didnt say anything about 'not until next year', it just said togashi has backpain and won't serialize now.
It is doubtful anyway if it is true, the source was kinda obscure and i think shueisha just told them what they have stated anyway : Backpain-nohxh-kthxbye

It's not true.

Some more hope. Togashi drew this cover for a japanese magazine. If he has the time and the will to do this, I think that the chance of a short hiatus is even more reliable now.
