Bradman - You kicked Gajeel's ass (which is why I cant consider Gajeel as a Spriggan level) but your moves were very small in scale. (Sorry bro, you roar was only Silver level)
Tbf his moves don't really need to be grand in scale, the only reason Gajeel could even fight him was because of his Iron Lungs, anyone else would have been suffering from the MBP's. Even then, he has Tenchi Kamei, the Sensation Curse, Enhancement Curse and Macro. His hax is insane, he could insta-freeze (IDS Magic), make himself stronger and control his opponent one after the other. His defense is also insane, he has his MBP body to evade physical attacks (which unlike Invel's Divine Rainment kills passively) and due to the Absorption Curse he can steal the souls of any spells that do manage to hit.

If Hax is the law of the land then he should at least be above Ajeel and Wahl.

Erza and Gajeel did. Erza fought Ajeel while he was on a flying ship rendering him unable to use his big AOE moves while Gajeel was immune to Bradman's death particles. Gray's resistance to ice let him escape insant freeze but his DeS advantage never came into play and was only mentioned when it was moot anyway.
Erza was unable to use her magic most of the fight and she had the advantage, when she is a CQC mage and most of Ajeel's spells are AOEs? Erza hardly had the advantage, when her field of vision was hindered. And yes, Gajeel became immune when he metabolized the iron in the particles. He didn't start the fight immune... Gray was able to resist everything Invel threw at him from the get-go, minus Ice Lock.

All 3 had an advantage but only Gray actually won without assistance (and it was a beatdown)
How convenient to forget that the tables turned in Gray's favor, due to Juvia's sacrifice.

I don't see how that is relevant; both spells have the same effect: the suppress the target's will. If Gray was alone, Invel could simply subdue him with Ice Slave.
Not really, the attacks are totally different.. Ice Lock prevents people from escaping and turns their actions against their own will. Ice Slave literally imprisons a person's body so that they are easily vulnerable.

Saying Invel can just freeze Gray with Ice Slave is a total assumption. Not only is Gray unaffected by the cold or ice for that matter, but if the attack is really that powerful... Then how come Invel doesn't just freeze Acnologia?

Yes, but 99% of Gray's fights involve Ice. I mean, the only opponent he ever faced (as far as I can recall) was Mard Geer. If we are talking about Natsu and Erza specifically, they have far more fights on their counter than Gray, and more diverse opponents, too. So yes, Gray fights are indeed repetitive.
I'm not even sure if we're reading the same manga at this point. How does Natsu and Erza have more diverse opponents? Whenever their is a dragon slayer/flame mage or a sword user, the match-ups are always predictable. This is the only arc where their fights were unexpected. Meanwhile, Gray was never really predictable in his past fights. The last two arcs were the only times we could tell who he was going to face.

Is that why both Gray and Lyon were having their ass whooped by their former master, for a short period of time? You're probably going to say that Gray was warming up lol
No... If Gray used the attack he used on Invel against Ur, he would've defeated her easily. I think it is ignorant to say Gray had trouble against Ur when Lyon was the one having trouble overcoming his emotions.

Erza used logic to defeat Midnight, not because she had some natural resistance to it. She simply used an armor that would make her invulnerable to his magic. Wahl was vulnerable to lightning? He admitted that lightning didn't work on him... And you are calling me biased. :/
I don't deny that it was an intelligence feat. But, at the same time she did have a natural counter. For example, Midnight's illusions didn't work because of her right eye. As for Wahl, if lightning didn't work, I guess that is why he was one-shotted by Red Lightning... I don't even care to debate this anyways because Laxus was also at fault for pulling off such a feat.

Not really, Gray owned Invel in CQC then proceeded to mold his Ice the same way he did against Doriate, it really isn't POF
Isn't Zeroth Curse Power? Nakagami doesn't affect Curse Power
Still gray just saw juvia commit suicide
It would effect him.
Don't know. Technically nakagami cuts through space so it should be fine.
but I was wondering about damage output

Erza fight was very complicated
Water wasn't an advantage. It allowed erza to hurt him. Wind sword was advsntage
But ajeel also had a lot of advantages.
And no just like aconologia didn't lose to serena. Erza didn't lose to ajeel
It was an advantage, water allowed her to hurt him while with wind she could blow away his attacks, Erza had way too many things going for her in that fight before Sand World was activated...that doesn't compare to Gray's resistance to Invel's ice.
But ajeel also had a lot of advantages.
His one advantage was blown away from the moment Erza donned her Sea Empress Armor, Ajeel had the advantage of being untouchable from the beginning of the fight till that one moment
And yes, Erza did lose to Ajeel, having someone bail you out from a tight spot already means you lost the battle

I'm really afraid at how strong gray and natsu are going to become in the future
When you saw natsu owning a spriggan like nothing and gray stomping invel like a scrub..i mean they beats their spriggans without their full powers..
Natsu has end powers and his df
Gray has his ace in the hole..

Probably because Acnologia is way out of his league. This magic most likely only works on mages who are below or close to him in terms of power. This was suggested in the latest chapter, when Brandish was unable to use her magic on a stronger opponent.

I'm not even sure if we're reading the same manga at this point. How does Natsu and Erza have more diverse opponents? Did you really not predict that Gray would fight Invel, from the very moment Makarov made it clear he was an ice mage? It must've come as a shocker, then, for Gray to fight the only ice mage among the twelve...

No... If Gray used the attack he used on Invel against Ur, he would've defeated her easily. I think it is ignorant to say Gray had trouble against Ur when Lyon was the one having trouble overcoming his emotions.
The main difference between the two fights is that Gray was in-character when fighting Ul, while he was bloodlust when facing Invel...

Yes, but that was her only fight where she benefited from a natural counter, whereas all the fights Gray had he benefited from a serious advantage: Ul, Silver, Mard Geer and Invel fights, mostly.

I also think the Red Lightning thing was bullshit, but most fights nowadays are bullshit. But Laxus started with a huge handicap, unlike Gray.

Jellal also saw Erza get mangled by Neinhart's Historia before proceeding to cream him, would you say that was POF too? Gray beat Invel mano a mano with no POF involved

That would be your definition of lost. But erza with jupitor help beat ajeel with marin help.
Personaly I think jupitor thing was entirely plot related. Erza coukd have easiky requiped a sword to block the axe. She had no way knowing that bisca would fire so fast.

Water allowed erza to hurt. That is not exactly an advantag. Wind was no doubt.
But sand world allowed ajeel another advantage of remobing erza sight. And she doesn't have much aoe.

I don't compare gray vs invel and erza vs ajeel.
Gray used brute force to ovrr power
But ajeel is more slippery fighter. He can't be overpowered like that because he hides and attack instead.
I do compare zeroth punches with nakagami.
Don't think there is a huge difference in power there

The difference is that gray has counter to their ice magic while people like erza and natsu doesn't necessarily have counter to their opponents magic .

I hate to admits but gray fighting ice mages over and over again really is unfair , becoz he's being compared to his others peer while his fight are mostly a fight against someone that he had counter to .
Thats the opposite of the truth.
Silver - immune to Gray's magic
Urtear - has a magic specifically designed to counter Gray's magic and able to make his spells vanish
Rufus - also able to vanish Gray's magic. Stated by Mavis to be a bad matchup for Gray

Who on earth has Gray had any advantage over before Invel?

Invel was fighting with one hand behind is back. And saying stuffs like now you got my attention.
....That's just the way Invel fights. It has nothing to do with his level of effort.
If Hax is the law of the land then he should at least be above Ajeel and Wahl.
Eh, I would need to reread his fight before reevaluating his status on my list but I probably will. Wahl has wayyy too much raw power imo and he's a machine so he wouldnt be affected by death particles.
Erza - Yes. She was in CQC (where she is strongest) on a ship in the sky against a guy who's biggest moves are only released at ground level (Ant Pit, Sand Tsunami, etc)
Gajeel - He wasnt affected by Bradman's death particles due to his iron lungs, remember? Just as Gray couldn't be instant frozen like Natsu and the others.

Gray was not immune to Invel's ice before using Devil Slaying though. He was clearly hurt when hit by Invel's moves in base and was even starting to freeze over. Gray was never hit when he began using Devil Slaying except for when Invel used a moved that ignored his immunity. His only advantage was being able to resist instant freeze which is a natural affect of his ice magic.
How convenient to forget that the tables turned in Gray's favor, due to Juvia's sacrifice.
Possibly? Ice Lock only landed because of outside interference and they were matched before then. Nothing indicating that Gray going all out would have lost to Invel and Gray clearly wasnt going all out to start with.

Gajeel was immune from the start, everything in the panels supports this, from Gajeel outright saying his lungs are made of iron to Bradman going "So they are. And that is fine by me.".

Apparently.
Gray is being portrayed as a guy will battle one of our final villains, still has a trump card, and was portrayed alongside Natsu after the timeskip started. Now even after the chapter titled Fire and Ice where Gray and Natsu both smash Spriggan, people still think he is below his peers in strength just because. -_-

Exactly. And Gray's MP is not far from Invel's. So your point earlier is invalid.

Did you really not predict that Gray would fight Invel, from the very moment Makarov made it clear he was an ice mage? It must've come as a shocker, then, for Gray to fight the only ice mage among the twelve...
I did and I clearly stated that in my last post... The past two arcs were an exception. Before that, I had no clue who Gray was going to fight. On the contrary, I knew who Natsu and Erza were going to face. For example, Natsu obviously was Zancrow's opponent. Kagura was obviously Erza's opponent.

The main difference between the two fights is that Gray was in-character when fighting Ul, while he was bloodlust when facing Invel...
The only difference is that Gray was not trying against Ur, but he was against Invel. I don't see why it's so hard to comprehend that Ur was Lyon's opponent.

How was he at an advantage against Silver? He was actually on the disadvantage because his attacks did not affect Silver. Besides, Gray was only given Ice Devil Slaying Magic after the fight ended.

Technically natsu just one shot an enhanced springgan
Gray pretty much used his most strongest spell To win.
So I wouldn't compare them but I do think they will be equal

Woo with his trump he might bump up to Laxus/Gildarts' level. But yet somehow he's still below Erza....
