Promoting and pushing something is always a business decision and as I said Jump won't support something unless it showed promise. Only Jump accurately knows how big Clover's audience is, you can speculate all you want but you will be surprised by the number of people who actually enjoy the series. It recently made the NY best seller list with volume 3 and It supposedly did well in Germany and France. I doubt the manga has a huge insane amount of supporters but it probably has a respectable amount if they decided to push it. It is all a business decision but that decision is made based on the reception the manga gets and the potential it has and the state of the magazine. I would say it sold decently for what it's worth at the start and Jump saw it as a potential prospect and ran with it. Jump gave it two color pages prior to every volume release and they probably pushed it up the rankings based on how it performed. Bleach and Naruto ended and Toriko is at the door, leaving One Piece and MHA the only two long term battle manga. They need it to succeed and they wouldn't push if it didn't have anything backing it. Now back to the 2 cover pages it will apparently receive, It makes sense if you look at how much Clover has been selling, the numbers are stagnating and as a potential prospect a big push is the best decision right now, specially with the OVA and potential anime on the way. There isn't as much to lose if it bombs this early then it would get canned as soon as possible and Jump will replace it with the plethora of possible projects from promising authors like Yusaku Shibata, Takamasa or someone that people here like to hype like Kei Monri and Tabata's own assistant Asahi Sakano.. When AssClass was heating up there was no question that it's success was largely due to readers actually liking it so its promotions makes sense and it wasn't nearly as excessive but how much of Black Clover's appeal is just business versus people generally liking it?
