Kimetsu no Yaiba's art isn't great but it isn't bad either. I like his style it fits the story and there is always room for improvement. My only complaint would be the character designs, I feel like Gotouge might be able to compete with Ashihara with his lack of variety, but the fried hair and boar mask restored some faith to be honest. Art doesn't need to look clean to be decent, I would honestly take KnY's art over Red Sprite's boring art.

Wasn't Horikoshi's previous work about the Zoo received well for the most part? It lasted 5 volumes and has nearly a 7 on MAL, which is far higher than most Jump series that get axed.

And I agree that Kimetsu needs more variety in character design. I mix a lot of female characters up. The background characters look standard. But I think the main cast are pretty well designed. As well as the recent villains.

BHA and BC are wayyyy better in evry aspect than kimetsu no yaiba. After all they sell better.

Horikoshi has been active in the manga industry since at least 2007 and Tabata since 2001 but with a big break between 2005 and 2011 from two one-shots.

while if you are axed once or twice, you already gain a small following(depending on how you did) and you can learn from previous mistakes.

I've always had the notion that Jump knew that Horikoshi would fail both of his first two series, but they let him have a shot because they saw that he was a massive bundle of potential, he just needed some experience.

Not sure, but I do remember Sasaki(former editor-in-chief) say that about Horikoshi in the English SJ Podcast. I think it was the issue with chapter 69, which had

and they were commenting on how the art was really impressive. Sasaki mentioned that he always knew that Horikoshi had a lot of potential as a manga artist. Although I don't know how unique that is for him to say about one of the mangaka.

I dropped it after the current arc, but prior to that I enjoyed it more than Haikyu and Soma.
I would say Clover was very enjoyable around last winter when Yami was relevant but ever since then it has been declining rapidly in my books and that is thanks to one trick pony Tabata. Might read it later if something new comes up, but I am calling it Clover's ranking are going to drop hard in the upcoming months.

If they pull a: "I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, ..." speech in the next chaps It will drop even faster, after the whole "despair, despair, despair, despair, ..." BS monologue, I dont think much readers will sit around to watch the next negative monologues showing up and drop it instead, it´s worse writing than some of the Sternritters had with their obsessed schrift monologues and a lot of them were quite heavy with them. BC, the new most boring long running manga shonen Jump has to offer! (After certain long running series rewashes of course!).

it won't drop until the anime happens. then if the anime doesn't do much or anything then it likely fall.

every single arc of black clover have been villains invading/showed up and we need to do something about it

every single conflict have been resolved with Asta swinging his swords around

the manga have been serialized for more than a year now& it have been working for it, so I don't expect Tabata to change this formula any time soon

& speaking of bad dialogue "MAH MAGIC IS NEVER GIVING UP" makes me cringe so hard I tear my neck's muscles every time the author use it

I'm not too eager to see a redo of the Despair fight with Hate girl.
Maybe Tabata should do a Red Sprite and have Asta oneshot that Hate girl and her friends. He could even use the demon of Asta to make it a oneshot, i don't care, but please don't repeat the same "DIE; I WON'T GIVE UP; DIE ALREADY" formula.

One of the best decisions of my life was to never put my eyes in Black Clover, I strongly believe in this. :P
It sounds very cliche when you guys talk about it, like it is gaining readers with the yells of the characters only. XD
Well, easy to read no-brainer series really is appealing to a portion of the readers.

At this rate it won't run too long. I would say he wouldn't reach 200 chapters at his current pace.


If they want the anime to do something then they should give it to a studio like Perriot or Toei and air in the summer with a morning time slot and hope kids get hooked.

Indeed, it seems like the new generation of Long running anime is gonna be a shorter one, thats for sure.

what's with black bulls members and other magic knights treating Asta as some kind of inspirational figure? I can somewhat understand when it happened to Naruto
but Asta haven't done anything big enough to earn that level of acknowledgment
