Replace Black Clover with Hinomaru Zumou and you have a pretty exceptional top 5 this week.

Not a terrible first ranking for Spring Weapon, especially given that it's a gag manga.

Oricon really should start to count digital sales so that we can have a broader picture of the sales. We know that it is 2016 and many people are starting to migrate to digital content and it is starting to be a important part of the overall sales.

It is the fourth volume, Shueisha already has a good idea of how many they should print.

I don't think digital purchases has taken off in Japan to the same extent as they have in America or the rest of the world. They still encourage the support of print media so if they did count digital sales it probably won't be that huge of a difference.

With an anime HZ could be much bigger than KnY will ever be but I am not sure whether the series has a future or not. I've seen people say Kawada is wrapping it up , and I know it sells very poorly, but with the color pages and the relatively high rankings it sometimes receives I wonder if they truly gave up on it.

Arguably, volume 19 is the worst volume because it contains The Survivor Hunt arc, and Eishi match. All in all, it did reach top 10 this year so that's still a plus. Hopefully it will continue for years to come.

Next year Yuragi will be in top 20.
