I loved Bleach's anime more than the manga, TBH. I think it depends on WHICH Pierrot we're getting here. I'm not gonna cry foul just yet. Still, it's odd they'd give BC long runner status over MHA, potentially. Aren't long running anime a bigger financial investment?
Anime in general is a big financial investment it doesn't matter if its long running or not you're going to lose a lot of money. Shuiesha giving Black Clover to Pierrot means that its pretty disposable.
Honestly I depise Black Clover so for me Pierrot doing is bad in the sense that even in the worst case scenario it'll be competent enough to be successful. If nothing else, Pierrot has almost never failed at churning out hits (well except for Twin Star, that seems to have really missed it's mark in Japan)
In order for BC to be a hit it'll need good marketing is all regardless of the quality of the source of material. The Tokyo Ghoul anime bombed but it boosted sales of the source of material by a lot.
That's not my point
Twin Star Exorcists is a 4 cours show, the manga is 50k seller
When Toei adapted WT it was 100k seller, they made it a long runner, same with Toriko
manga sales are meaningless in the choices what will be a long runner or not
List some episodes that aired this year and have better production quality (animation, direction, music)
NS #476, #477 and #478 are some of the best anime episodes of the year. The only ones that come close are some Rakugo episodes, some of Mob Psycho just for the crazy sakuga and Re:Zero #15.
You can say what you want about their usually iffy composition, but when they're good they'r pretty good.
TG and Kingdom are both an abomination, but BC being a Shonen Jump I'm expecting them to bring their quality staff.
And on top of that, they usually know how to market their anime, so that's the most important part.
I think this is pretty 50\50 at this point. Pierrot can make huge hits with shit adaptations (Tokyo Ghoul) or complete flops by doing the same thing (Twin star).

Now as shitty as Toei is nowadays they are a highly well recognized and respected studio and have worked on Jump adaptations for many years (Hell Oda stated that he wanted Toei to animate One Piece ever since its conception just as he created Luffy with a voice similar to Mayumi Tanaka from the start) so Toriko and WT getting adaptations from them is a big deal.

again, I'm not disagreeing with you but that's not the point I'm trying to make
I'm saying long runner anime depends on who's adapting it, not how good the manga sell
Ohh, so someone on Pierrot saw how Black Clover its just Naruto 0.8 and thought that was a good idea to adapt it.
I think it will be a long-runner, 4-cours at least, let's wait to see who is the director, if is someone with good contacts, it can have a good animation, at least.
Lupin The Third Part IV 20, My Hero Academia 07 and 12, Macross Delta 13, most of Haikyuu S3 and MOB Psycho and the episodes covering the past portion of Bungou Stray Dogs Season 2. Those episodes of Naruto weren't even the best looking ones of the series nor had Pierrot's best animator working on them, they were only good because they came after a year of bad fillers and that terrible Kaguya boss battle.
TG and Kingdom are both an abomination, but BC being a Shonen Jump I'm expecting them to bring their quality staff.
You're incredibly naive. Funny how Pierrot was the bane of everyone's existence whenever they get their hands on a property but since they got BC its going to be a huge success now? Please.

Honestly having spent most of this year watching the Bleach anime as a dare it's actually a pretty strong adaption with some really strong visual direction. The filler arcs are garbage sure, but they aren't nearly as numerous as Naruto's and it's easier to defend Pierrot at having to cram them in considering the manga's pacing was so awful that a single fight could take up to a month to finish at minimum.
I'd say Naruto's the real stinker but even then, the anime continued past it's expiration date largely because of TV Tokyo and the fact that it's one of their biggest money grabbers. Goes without saying that Pierrot doesn't mind the paycheck and they are part of the production committee but they weren't the ones pushing to extend it.
I mean, it wasn't amazing, but I don't get what's so bad about it. Is rate Tokyo Ghoul season 1 like a 7/10. If I never went into message boards is never think the anime(exclude Root) was so hated.
And Naruto Vs Sasuke fight was done flawlessly. And I agree it's one of the best things in anime this year

Let me see...when you try to squeeze in 60 chapters worth of material within 12 episodes you're going to run into a lot of problems with character and story development and you're probably not going to get things across as accurately as possible worse yet you might even skip some key important details as well. Neither season of Tokyo Ghoul are good but I guess the two things the first season did okay are worth more than whatever the fuck Root did.

I think the manga is better, but I saw season 1 of the anime before reading the manga, and enjoyed it enough to make me pick up the manga and get hooked on that

They're just a studio they don't handle the marketing
MHA doesn't even come close.
I already said Mob, yeah.
HQ!! S3 had its moments, but that's it.
Not naive, I'm just not a mindless hater. TG was bad? Horrible. Kingdom was bad? Yeah. Is SnO bad? Yes.
But what about Yona? And Baby Steps? What about Naruto when it's not filler?
Black Clover would benefict from filler so as long as they just add one or two filler arcs in between it should be alright.
Ya know I can use sakugabooru and cherrypick good cuts from the MHA anime to counter your points and you didn't even use the best cuts of the episode and you didn't even refute any of the examples I used like Lupin The Third Part IV guess you didn't watch it.
Had a lot of great moments of tension and direction which was something severely lacking from those episodes of Naruto because there's more to an episode than looking pretty and showing off .
You're naive for believing something is going to be good despite evidence showing the contrary. So Pierrot is only good or bad depending on how it suits your tastes.
Pierrot is pretty consistent in giving us anime adaptations with pretty good production values and staff for long-running series.
They also have the best fucking director working with them.
Noriyuki Abe.
A man who is consistently able to make adaptations far superior than the source manga.
He's worked on a some big name Jump series, like; Yu Yu Hakusho, Ninku, Midori no Makibao, and Bleach.
He's also done some popular non-Jump series like Great Teacher Onizuka, Flame of Recca, Tokyo Mew Mew,
Also, as shown clearly by a few of the above examples (not pointing them out as to avoid needless discussion), he has a very great way of taking pretty mediocre of generic series and making them feel really magical and powerful.
The only thing announced for him in 2017 is the Black Butler movie that's already completed and just needs to be released so here's hoping he wants to do this.

Also, filler with Black Clover is a great idea.
The world of Black Clover has some potential, it's a whimsical fantasy world, but it has this underlying sense of grime and reality to it. It could be really neat stuff if it was fleshed out properly or at all.
The problem is Tabata can't write for shit, and has no idea how to properly execute and build this world he has.
A decent anime team however, creating stories in this world might create some stories much more memorable than anything in the manga, and might actually make the characters bearable and interesting/
