The way Nakaba avoided the question back then you could suggest Merlin was Meliodas daughter because what do her knowing him the longest has 2 do with being in love with him.

I'm pretty sure Merlin was around before Meliodas met Elizabeth, though. And besides, Meliodas would treasure Merlin far more if she were his daughter, I'd say.
If Merlin was around before Meliodas met Elizabeth why will Merlin follow Meliodas from evil 2 good. Merlin not knowing people commandments also make no sense if she around, one more thing Merlin reaction 2 Fraudrin death is also strange if she saw prime Meliodas with her own eyes.
Because the demons know Merlin - if she were born just before Elizabeth's death, which should be somewhat near the end of the war, the demons wouldn't have heard about a survivor from Belialuin, and it doesn't mean that because she was around she'd meet the demons or prime Meliodas. Additionally, I don't think a daughter would be jealous of the attention her mother receives, but on the other hand, it makes perfect sense if Merlin is jealous of Meliodas' and Elizabeth's lover relationship.

He did something bad huh... Elizabeth was a kid back then, kinda odd how their relationship changes like that. It's always been the case but I have never been more aware of it that today.

I agree it's the most obvious and boring route Nakaba could've gone. Since he's the one Merlin confessed hoping it's the supreme demon. So all the main females characters all loved Meliodas at some point annoying. Not even Luffy has that going for him.
