How is it a sign that something's wrong? Wouldn't it be a sign of how weak a candidate Hillary is?

Welp, the most we could reasonably expect from the electoral college at this point was there being an unusual amount of EC voters that went rogue. But that did not seem to pan out for the most part unless the 2 that went rogue already make for an unusual amount. That said, the system is weird and pointless. Whats the point of having this if voters can't vote to their conscience? I know there is the whole "big states imposing over small ones" but lets be realistic, that is a bit of a bullshit argument which justifies a minority imposing over the majority.

How long until trump suggests adding his face to mount Rushmore? Or build a second mount rushmore except that its made solely of faces of him with different expressions. And each one is painted gold. He would have made them of solid gold but as it turns out that would have required more gold than currently exists.

Well, the "plan" was to have democrats change their vote to a more palatable republican alternative (john kasich) and in turn convince 30 republican voters to switch to him. However democrats for the most part did not change their vote (except to vote for simon powels and bernie sanders IIRC) and republicans were not interested either. As far as the hamilton electors were concerned, hillary clinton was a non issue.

It's a sign that they've allowed an unfit candidate to lead the nation, that's the issue. There were more than enough reasons why the EC shouldn't have picked Trump, but it seemed that they've ignored all the signs.
The issue about Hilary being weak isn't problematic, because the EC aren't bound to vote for either Trump or Hillary. They could have the option to vote for a different candidate instead.
On the bright side: the first Native American has achieved an EC vote.

But I doubt the E.C. will be abolished. It's something that does need a reform tho.

They picked Trump because they thought he was a better choice. How would another candidate have won? More democrats voting or more EC voters voting for them? If it's latter, then there's no chance as the republicans would have stuck with Trump.

Hillary being weak is problematic because they seemed to be divided in choosing her.

There would have had to have been someone who voted for Kasich and then got enough of Republican electors to abstain from voting to prevent Trump from getting enough votes, and then a joint-session of congress would have had to have had enough state delegations agree to elect someone other than Trump.

It would have never happened.

Well, at least trump will be slightly more honest about this. I wonder if people really are so stupid that they will forget they voted for trump to drain the swamp and instead will forget about this because trump isn't saying it anymore.

I'm quite pissed off that his supporters don't realizes that he directly told them that HE FUCKING PLAYED THEM (he admitted that he only used the "Lock her up!" and "Drain the Swamp" during the election and that it's no longer applied anymore).
But at this point, I've convinced myself that Trump could blow up half of the world and commit the worst genocide in human history, and his supporters will love him and defend his actions by any means necessary while throwing the "But Hillary/her emails!" arguments.

I think it is a matter of time until people realize the extent to which trump duped them. What will help him hold on is his demagoguery though. Trump has a number of attitudes which are familiar to anyone who has seen what recent two bit dictators from south america. Among the many things he shares (demagoguery, attitude towards the press....) there are the rally things which he has continued even though the race is over. I wouldn't be even a tiny bit surprised that he continued them through his term(s?). If he does that he could easily make a weekly show just trash talking everyone and saying stuff he makes up and passes up for the truth. It gave the guys in venezuela 20, ecuador 10, brazil 10, and argentina 16 years. And to anyone who thinks such shameful spectacles can't happen in the US, well, you probably thought trump couldn't be president so shut up and be terrified already.

Well, yeah, the US is fairly more strict about that specific issue, I will grant you that. But my point was more along the lines of trumps popularity being sustained by this sort of thing and even riding it to a second term. Trump is a showman and it does not seem like he will stop with the rallies. He is able to distract people enough from actual stories using his twitter, imagine if he gets a weekly podium to distract people from his corruption. Sure, it likely won't go on for 16 years but riding that wave of populism for 8 years is entirely possible.

I don't know, I think the best barometer will be the midterm elections in 2018. They are almost always an indictment of the sitting president, and with it being entirely controlled by the GOP in both branches of congress, they can (and probably will) only fuck it up for themselves. There's not many figures in the GOP who have a knack for foreign policy, and I don't think the electorate will react kindly to Trump lying about not being a warmonger as well, if it indeed leans that way, with all his talk about destroying ISIS, etc. The moron is still on Twitter talking about Iraqi oil fields as if ISIS is producing crude oil as a means to fund itself...

This fact is what is often overlooked on purpose by those trying to make excuses as to why she lost.That and the fact that nothing in the leaked emails was proven false and the detailed content all together is just avoided despite the DNC chair having to step down. No it's all Russia's fault.

Republicans are trying their damnedest to defund Planned Parenthood... again. If there's proof that they don't give a shit about people, this is it. You got it the wrong way round.
Nothing in her emails or any other leak proved any criminal behaviour.
Nothing at all.

She lost because of the media (and 'altmedia' are media too) campaign against her which was based almost completely on lies.

And what makes it better if not ALL of it is russia's fault?
Another country meddled in your election and managed to get the candidate into office that they liked.
How is that not a problem to you?
