I don't know anybody who went to any author's Twitter and complained about his manga, much the contrary, they praised it. I think there is no problem to talk with the author about the impressions you had about a chapter, if done respectfully. I never had the curiosity to follow an entire thread where an author is present, mainly because most of the authors I like don't have Twitter, but some say ”感想ありがとうございました” often. Webcomics websites have commentary spaces and some authors also interact there and so on. Everything can be done within the borders we consider respectful.
Juvia and Gajeel deaths reached my timeline and I'm certain that Hiro Mashima had many comments about this. Probably he had a great time seeing the reactions.
I know what you mean. I received two replies from authors. One from Kazuma Kondou (Deadman Wonderland, Smokin' Parade) about the meaning of a chapters name. The other one was from Murata about the possibility of using furigana on One Punch Man. Both were amazing

Kazuma's reply:

OPM does have furigana in the volumes, I'm still not entirely sure what the point of leaving them out on the website is.

Probably because the volume version is the "final" one, since Murata does a lot of changes.

If that were the case then every series would have them in the volumes. I'm like 99% sure it's because the volumes are targeting a younger audience (which is why they're sold under JC instead of YJC), I just don't get why they'd leave them off on the website releases because it's just adding more work to put them in later so they may as well put them in then.

I love how one of the only artists with an NSFW tag got it for a series published in a kids' magazine. Ogino is truly among the most based of authors I know, now if only he would do something that isn't a oneshot.

Haha I'm loving people saying things like "you should not let other people opinions affect your judgement" when we're talking about a whole industry/art/forum based on that. Also were are our opinions coming from? Pretty much you learn everything you know based on other people's works/opinions, you can't just simple imagine all the truth of the universe by yourself.

But wtv, like somebody said: "we're all expert critics". And Fornever is our warlord.
the industry listening to feedback IS NOT letting other people control your own feelings
people in this forums having to a discussion IS NOT letting other people control your own feelings

when you say you took everything we know from other people is basically admitting you don't have the mental capacity to do your own thinking

Now that I think about it, is Mashima the first mangaka ever to reach 1M followers? That's a pretty legendary achievement.

I never said anybody is controled by any means. But your opinion is never only your own... You're just not willing to admit that =)

Well, the other famous mangaka are not willing to/can't/won't use twitter so it's hard to compare.

Horikoshi seems to be well on his way to reaching Mashima's numbers in his 5th year, assuming MHA blows up in popularity even further.

"Pretty much you learn everything you know based on other people's works/opinions"

you just said everything you know you took from someone aka other your knowledge is controlled by other people work/opinions

IBut your opinion is never only your own... You're just not willing to admit that =)
what is the point of repeating another person's opinions? you might as well be a parrot

my opinions are always my own, but I understand if your opinions are not

thinking is hard =)

I said pretty much. You seem to have a hard time understanding the real meaning of people's sentences here. But its ok. Let me ask you a question, everything you know about manga (or anything else entirely) you imagined by yourself right? You never learned anything from other people? haha. Everything is just "yours". We have the Fornever's sensei here, guys.

It's completely different to form your opinion based on other people's and to just repeat them. That's exactly what makes us different than parrots. And just because you can imagine something, it does not mean that you are the maker of this concept or that it is "yours"... That's what you're not willing to admit... Your opinion is NOT only your own. It's a complex mix of your experiences, everything you learn, your beliefs and views about the world around you. But if you still think it is yours only...Well, yeah... Thinking should be hard haha.

you're asking to 2 different things and expect one answer

knowledge and opinions are 2 different things

you gain knowledge, you form opinions

that's why opinions=/= facts

if you don't want people to misunderstand you be more specific, instead of constantly make vague statements then backpedal when some someone tell you how stupid it is =)

so I'm forneverworld? I see you fell back to using strawman argument as usual, at least you didn't call me a a pedo like last time

I think it is more about the media than anything else. It is hard to see any manga published online having furigana. I wouldn't be surprised if it there were laws involved here.

I'm gonna see all of them. I just follow a few from the list.
Yamamoto Souichirou (https://twitter.com/udon0531) is just the best. I bought all of his works because of his Twitter. The arts he posts there are great, but he advertised that the 1st volume of his series were free for a limited time and then I picked all of them. Ended up buying everything because it is great. XD 期間限定無料 is the word! :derp
Publishers really should do this more often... Most of the samples don't even have an entire chapter. :(

So Black Clover sells more than it's "rivals" on JUMP (and has better positions at TOC for that matter), more than TSE and Dragon Ball Super (both having anime)

Wow...
