Jump isn't actually kind with veterans either ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. We shall see.

You can count with your hands how many series success the 2nd time. (only count author 2nd series, not author 2nd series pair with another artist)

Go Nagai, Yūsei Matsui, Akira Toriyama, Hirohiko Arakim, Togashi, Tsugumi Ohba, Yōichi Takahashi, Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro.

You forgot Kurumada.

Yeah I agree, they don't get to receive special treatment. That's the whole point. Even so, I'm confident that these 4 gentleman will blow our minds and the rookies at the same time.

Shame on Horikoshi for attempting to give his characters depth through inner monologues

Except it doesn't hurt in any way to show their interactions? In fact it just adds more to the characterization
The problem is not the depth itself, but how poorly (in my opinion) he does that.

Pretty sure it's subjective then because I'm not sure exactly how he's developing Deku in a poor way lol. Maybe you just don't like how it's constantly being done

No no, I did not mean Deku... I mean the "sir" guy that wants people to make him laugh...

Yep just like how Watsuki and Takei crush the competition with their respective works. And it was even more embarrassing because unlike Beelzebub Rurouni Kenshin and Shaman King were both exceedingly popular so I'm not sure where all this confidence that his new work will crush anyone. Let's see if Fujimaki can strike the Fujoshi well again to distract his exceeddingly bad writing but I doubt golf is as popular as Basketball. Inagaki has not done anything of worth since Eyeshield 21 ended worse yet it seems like people don't even associate him with it anymore since Murata seems to hog the spotlight of everything he does even when he doesn't write it (OPM)
This chapter of MHA was beyond annoying... Lot's useless phrases and bubbles and unnecessary stuff... I mean, to me Horikoshi tries to be like Togashi too much... There's no such depth in this series, much less in this arc... Why he needs gazillion's bubbles to explain a simple character personality etc?
Impossible, the text given has actual meaning in it and isn't just overbearing repetitive, useless exposition because he was too lazy to draw like Togashi does all the time.

Neverland for an instance has much more text and it's completely consistent with the plot, storyline, the characters and even the art... You just NEED to read the next bubble to comprehend the situations.
Ironic because the characterization is the weakest element in it thus far.

Rurouni Kenshin and Shaman King both dropped in popularity a lot towards the end with cancelled anime and notably less well received final arcs. It's not too much of a surprise that their falling popularity continued into the writers' next works, especially without the big well known brand name attached to keep them safe based on recognisability alone.

The anime was cancelled long after the manga ended if any case while both mangaka have not had a hit since then (nobody cared about Ultimo) it hasn't diminished the brand of those series given they're still pumping out new merch and installments for them (or in Watsuki case still exploiting the Kyoto arc) can't really say anyone cares about Beelzebub as a brand nowadays.

Well I agree that Watsuki and Takei failed miserably after Rurouni Kenshin and Shaman King. Even so Watsuki made Busou Renkin receive an anime (I still don't know how this was possible) And Takei was able to do Ultimo with Stan Lee (who da hell ever did this?) and Jumbor is not a bad series at all (obviously it's not a Shaman King though)

But most important of all... Their next series after the successes were bad... But definitely not as bad as U19 or the previous week romcom or pretty much any other series that were recently made by rookies and canceled. Sorry to tell you guys that.

I still prefer a "possible" failure from a veteran mangaka, than a 100% failure from a rookie that does not know what he is doing and has no experience.

It took Takei 5 years after the weekly run's rushed finale to give Shaman King an actual ending. It's a bit early to say whether people will care enough about Beelzebub for it to get another spin-offs or sequels yet, that's something that usually doesn't happen after they've tried (and failed at) a couple other things first.

I'm surprised it got an anime too even moreso I'm surprise that people know about Ultimo and the third iteration of Jumbor which fell off the place of the Earth due to hiatuses

We'll see. I do admit I'm looking forward to Dr. Stone the most though and any manga that cover an alternate sport that's not soccer or basketball (or sports in general) has my attention and it can't be as bad as Tokyo Wonder Boys so I'll give it a go just to see how he injects "magic" into golf as he did with basketball.

It's amazing how well BHA sell even with no anime.

Hori to me is doing a good job so far balancing his cast with it expanding. Iceemperor's words were the truth: some characters are meant to be either fodder, fill-ins, and glued to background... even in Class 1-A which is the main cast simply cause to fill 20 heads to a classroom. Do people want to see an arc dedicated to the animal quirk dude or Satou? Miss me on that. With the other schools entering from the provisional license exam arc and not just UA of course it's gonna be some character missing in the development/screentime department. Still Inasa had a good backstory involving Endevor and Todoroki, Camie got some passable (from what I've read up to 113 so she could still have more) screentime with her may be Ochako's theoretical love rival. Overexposure syndrome is when you introduce a multitude characters and do barely anything or say anything, which is what Bleach most memorably suffered from. I understand future concerns but he's doing good for his cast size atm.

What was so bad about Tokyo Wonder Boys? I remember skimming through the one-shot and noting it had really fujo friendly art.

Except the one YTV channel is rerunning in the same slot that the second season will be aired in.
And the gazillion of advertisement, 2 spin off manga (Boku no Hero Academia Smash and Illegals), all the merchandising, and the color pages promoting the 2nd season of the anime.

There's no way it would not sell

I know I'm still relatively new, but this is something thats bugged me, people have been saying that certain series are getting pushed by Shonen Jump while other are not. The example being Black Clover since I see this series talked about being like that a lot, but wouldn't all of MHA's: advertisements, merchandise, and multiple spin-offs running be considered a type of push by Shonen Jump?

A combination of the hilariously inept writing and inconsistent art, fujos couldn't save this one like they did with Kuroko and Prince of Tennis. The manga is still a meme on 2ch and a lot them cite that the reason Ole is doing badly is because of it though I think its easier for a sports manga covering an alternative sport to do well in Jump over stuff that's exceedingly popular like baseball and soccer.
