TOH Jellal is faster than OS Racer. Not sure how you can even debate that. The only reason why Racer seemed fast was because he wa able to fool people into believing he was fast. Basically his magic slowed the time for people's movements, giving him an advantage. He's average speed fighter when people figure out how his magic works. In one year time without using magic, Jellal was able to punch Racer and catch him. Jellal was able to figure out the mechanics of how Racer's magic is utilized.

It doesn't matter if Jura is plot wise irrelevant, feats show he isn't anywhere near Laxus anymore. Sure it's illogical especially when they were equal in one year's time with Jura portraying to get stronger, but it is what it is.

IIRC Erza was able to stop Racer's movements, or not get rattled from him, while her teammates had trouble.

The fight itself was off-panel, so we don't know whether Gray was serious or not. Considering Base Gray's feats afterwards, it's clear he wasn't really trying. Erza accordingly was completely serious in comparision.

Base Gray was infected with CIS/PIS, as he could've easily eaten Ur's ice and destroyed her. Considering his feats against Invel, it's clear Gray was nerfed badly for Lyon to get some shine. What feats laxus has above erza. Fighting wahl. Well erza was faught someone who could pretty much stomp wahl. What hype. People keep on saying laxus has better feats but no one actually give them.
