The Promised Neverland had a hell of a chapter this week... I think now they cannot delay the escape anymore. First place in the poll for me most likely. After the chapter I though "I have to have this on my shelf". Two questions though: when VIZ will release the volumes? They cover will be as well designed as the Japanese ones? I will make my decision in the future. For now I will enjoy it weekly.
Honestly wouldn't surprise me if it ranked terribly. I know so many people who are on the verge of dropping it after that. I think it was an amazing chapter because it's impressive a series can even make you so pissed off after 1 event. But it literally has to proceed to the escape next chapter, don't see how they can screw around anymore.

People really don't understand death for the sake of the plot and impact. It was an awesome chapter, I'm not pissed at all.

I feel like it might have gone a bit too far for the jp jump audience, edgy stuff hasn't been doing too well recently.

The Promised Neverland was never the conventional battle shounen we normally see in Jump, it has similarities with Death Note I think... The series was a success so far despite that so I think the Shounen Jump audience can be flexible enough to accept a series like this one. Let's see... This a great test to see if the readers can get some maturity.

The thing is, no matter the outcome of whether the character is actually dead, people will still be angry for one reason or another. If he dies then one side will be triggered that their favorite character died, but if he lives then the other side will be triggered that the author wimped out. This event could possibly split the fan base or even cause a loss of readers. Wonder how this chapter will rank.

On the subject of Study-koi, it's nice to see a chapter focused on the actual studying part of the plot and not have it take a back seat to fanservice or romcom shenanigans. I feel like this sudden development in her Japanese was too soon though, it just sorta seemed like it shouldn't have happened this early.

I applaud the writer of Neverland for actually taking a risk. I love writing that's uninfluenced by worry of fan backlash. On the other hand, I doubt the backlash will be THAT severe, since it is a relatively new series.

I guess now we'll have to see if Emma can keep the fanbase satisfied.

Hibiki - "Some of our most cherished manga characters are blessed with magical powers...others have an extraordinary combination superhuman strength and cunning intellect. But Hibiki? Her only real skill seems to be making a pot of delicious tea... Or is it?! This heartwarming fantasy story will have you believing in the power of Hibiki's magic!"

Never heard of it till now. The art seems not too bad though. Maybe i'll give it a try.

Neverland never had a chance. Shonen jump only make manga for kids. What do you expect? Those kind of mangas only win kids awards.

@EmDee people are so reactionary lol but yeah I agree that's what will happened. Neverland caught readers by being something out the norm, like no cool powers or hot girls, so it's a series that already is kinda tipping a fine line. I think the idea of rage-quitting something is lowkey silly, who the hell gets that mad at pictures on paper but I've been seeing it that people are gonna be triggered if they turn out alive moreso dead...

Dungeon Meshi lost to Hibiki? tsc...

And why people would drop TPN? The manga is superb... I LOVE this week's chapter.

I hope we can see limbs everywhere.

I read Hungry Marie chapters 4 and 5. The only interesting plot point is the one with the taoists that probably want to kill Marie for reasons that we´ll know later. And it was done in like 5 pages. THAT´S IT.

The rest of these chapters was mostly wasted time on comedy that I don´t know if it doesn´t work with me, or it doesn´t work in general. Chapter 5 tried too hard to be funny and cool with Marie fighting a guy in a restaurant, but for some stupid reason, a cliffhanger appears.

Dr Stone chapter 4: The villain twist apprears outta nowhere, because at first Tsukasa seems so good, and suddenly he explains his ideals for why he´s evil. So it fails to make a good impression. But I liked the rest where these guys where using clam shells for 4 interesting uses. So far it seems it´s trying to find its footing, between the survival and educational science stuff. Also, it seems that the impair chapters by now will focus on de-stoning humans, while the pair chapters will be more science.

That doesn't make any sense. Just because he helped the main characters out from being eaten alive doesn't automatically make him a good person. Everyone has different personalities and moral concepts and before we judge someone to be good or bad we must know these things.

I wasn't to thrilled with idea that Tsukasa was going to join them after he was unpetrified, helping them out was a given considering they where surrounded by lions, but it felt a little to on the nose to have him join them especially when in the near future he's more then likely leaving them anyways.
