this is good new no? that means they're satisfied with Yuuna's current sales
It is haha. But you know about my half a million per volume campaign I keep bringing it up. So that post is more of a joke.

So Boruto Naruto Next Generations... It was good. Not anything groundbreaking but good. It´s good to see how Boruto, our MC, is setup as a sort of no-fs-given kid with a heart of gold. And his chemistry with Denki cements more his character. The second half is something that needed to happen later in the series, but at least wasn´t unnecessarily over-the-top.

By now the series should be more of school life and slice of life, to flesh out the ninja world, the characters and so on, before it goes into Naruto action.

BHA rating is just fine. Its growing. In 5 weeks it will be 6-7%. Consider the amazing sales of the manga.

Speaking of hero academia's ratings, how exactly do tv anime ratings work in Japan? Also they did a rerun of the first season before airing the second one right? Did that have good ratings?

First episode was surprisingly good, after the Sarada troll arc I have no faith in Boruto and the monthly manga. But I'm looking forward to the slice of life/missions/new academy filler students

I mean, 3.4 is a good rating, but not so good in the context of that timeslot, right?
For the past 5 or so years it's been getting numbers within the 3-4%. The last show Time Boken 24 got amount those same ratings every week. In short its doing fine as long as it doesn't get Otaku Teacher numbers.

Damn son Its pretty low for the timeslot
With the exception of Otaku Teacher which bombed hard its pretty standard. The last time a show on that timeslot averaged above a 4% was The Kindaichi Case Files

Ah, fair enough! Hopefully it can stay in that range for the majority of it's run then.

Does anyone want to make a comprehensive/summary on how these rating work? Like who rate them? Something like that. Thanks

It doesn't need to. Even Toriko had high ratings in that timeslot. Lets be real airing before One Piece is free publicity even for Dragon ball super.

The tv ratings we see are the percentage of households in the Kanto region that tuned into to watch that airing of the show that week.

Wait, so that means that doesn't take into nationwide account? Which means it could potentially be bigger?

The Kanto has the largest population of the regions, so it stands to reason that they'd use that as a base line to figure out the ratings.

It's possible but keep in mind that about a third of the population live in Kanto and the other regions aside from Kansai are a lot more rural, so it's unlikely that there'll be much of an increase.

Plus even if the show did get better ratings elsewhere Kanto would still have more people watching because of how many people it has (Kansai's the second highest in population and it's still only about half of what Kanto has).

I know what the ratings number represent but...do the TV ratings represent the highest amount of people watching the show at a specific time or does it represent the number of people who watched it entirely through?

I'm under the assumption that it's a little of both (the number who watched it entirely through while watching it at a specific time)
