Interesting question I saw around, based off the actions of the King (Toma E. Fiore) we learned of from 530. Anna, when she came to the future, left after telling Layla she'll look for the 5 dragons slayers. Layla then told the King to destroy the gate which he complied he will, which he obviously lied and didn't go through with it. At first I wondered how they are all still in this timeline while Future Rogue went back to his timeline but then I figured it might of been cause they came to the future while F Rogue and F Lucy came to the past. Besides the point, I'm starting to think that Mest shouldn't have erased the Magic Council's minds. The King quite literally caused the entire GMG event to happen. Eclipse is a form of black magic from the Books of Zeref. Do people realize how much of an enormous criminal act he's been committing for 15 years! :noworry With FT ending soon I wonder if he'll get punished or at least step down, that way Hisui can become Queen. What do you all think will happen to the King at the end of series and will Hisui become Queen?

I think the King will get indicted since according to Lahar the existence of the Eclipse Gate violates all 30 or 33 laws of the Council. So the King should be punished for his crimes he's been committing for 15 years.

Doubtful maybe Toma himself pass the throne to Hisui.

TBH Anna isn't that innocent here either way even if she was looking for DS for 5 years she still have 10 years to come back and check if Toma followed her instruction not to mention that she left dangerous device in hands of the guy she have just meet and instantly believes him that he will follow her request ( Of course chances of activation was small but have seen for what that have lead to )

Me and Vici were just talking about this, if you really wanna get technical Hisui should be locked up too lol, she committed a crime by knowingly taking combatants' magic and stealing all 12 celestial keys. That's like 2 counts of theft. I think Hisui will be queen (and a good one at that but she's bias for wizards like her father) but unless the king dies or steps down she won't, but he should be locked up. Dude been committing a crime by messing with black magic for 15 years is all you need to know

How if Hisui or Toma won't be the king/Queen of Fiore but Erza? LOL Irene is the former queen of Dragnov kingdom, how if 400 years ago the real lineage of Fiore Kingdom is from Dragnov Kingdom? We know Irene has a knowledge of mount zonia (Fiore), maybe she could envoke Universe One is also because she is familiar with Fiore Kingdom landscape, because it was her former territory, and the grave of fallen Dragons from Dragon King Festival 400 years ago is in Capital town, Crocus. And i think 400 years ago the Dragon King Festival war took place near Dragnov Kingdom since it was the birth place of many Dragon Slayers.

But all of them is irrelevant to the story/not necessary to be put in the ending...so my final thought is, King Toma will still be the King of Fiore, and Mashima won't really touch Hisui/Toma's sin from keeping the gate.

No. You must be wondering why.
Actually she is not the King's daughter. She is the daughter of Arcadios and the Queen.
The Queen could never get pregnant from the King and they always had marital problems, reason why, she frustrated deceived the King with the best friend, Arcadios.
It is a matter of time to reveal the true identity of Arcadios and to reveal that the king has problems of infertility, so he is not able to have descendants.
Thus, in conclusion I only see it possible that Mirajane is the successor of the crown. No reason is needed to argue this because she is Mira! :zomg

This is assuming that the council has any claims to legitimacy after this arc. This arc proves that if Ishgar is under attack by a foreign powers, it is the guilds that will defend it. The King hosts the grand magic games, and that's got to be popular with the guilds. It also probably brings in a lot of revenue for the city by all the jobs it creates. Far from being indicted, I think Fiore should declare independence from the rest of Ishgar.

Mest explained that he didn't want to see an uprising against the kingdom, so it would be easier for everyone to just forget it all happened.

King is apparently a good person anyway, no point in going after him. The original plan of the Eclipse Gate was to travel 400 years in the past to kill Zeref, after all.

A good person who took mages' magic for over a decade to juice up the Eclipse Gate lol. Mest did what he had to do to not have a revolt or a break down in Fiore's democracy, he's hardly to blame but the King really should at the end of series step down. Hisui committed a crime too but the King is more a fault

This was basically my point. Mest choosing to wipe the memories of the Magic Council and ensuring the Royal Family keeps its mouth shut was preferable to letting the Magic Council raise an uproar over the king's transgressions.

Fiore's a monarchy.

It's implied Toma is an autocratic/ absolute Monarch (at least we haven't seen that he has a constitutional limitation of power or a government to do the actual ruling of the kingdom for him (the magic council is different and I believe is Ishgar wide, not a ruling body of Firoe)) Assuming that to be true, really he should be able to get away with just about anything he wants legally - there's no mechanism for removing an autocrat in systems where the crown is the absolute power, short of bloodshed. Where he could run into trouble would be if people were so upset they decided to overthrow him, and/or one of the other members of his house or a rival faction decided to make a grab for the monarchy.
