Why wouldn't Bluenote be on GMG Jura's level? Bluenote was able to go to toe toe with Gildarts. Jura was also hyped to be on the same level as Gildarts, who wouldn't have changed much from Tenrou to GMG.

Yes, but I'm talking about Bluenote being on Jura's level. Bluenote gave Tenrou-arc Gildarts a high difficulty match. Jura not being on Gildart's level just helps me make my case. Jura, Bluenote, Laxus, Jellal, Makarov, Zero, and Silver would have all been at around the same level prior to the timeskip.

Gildarts was exhausted after fighting Bluenote and he couldn't move. It's not like Bluenote used his best attacks when Gildarts had no magic. He was just kicking him around. When Bluenote was reintroduced, the narration even goes out of its way to say that Bluenote once went toe to toe with Gildarts.

Big punches or roars=/=strong punches or roars.

Bluenote was afraid of Jura, so he's probably weaker. GMG tier is fodder tier anyway.

Actually, I think Jura is still a pretty strong mage, if we go by Ishgar's standards, that is.

He outclasses most mages from guilds like Lamia Scale, Mermaid Heel, and possibly even Sabertooth. Jura is far stronger than Lyon, in my opinion.

He's a wizard with a relatively high durability and his offensive feats aren't that bad either.

However, I wouldn't compare him to the GoI-tier. Maybe Warrod is an exception because he isn't a combat mage.

But I'm fairly certain Hyberion and Wolfheim are superior by a wide margin.

Mashima really fucked up powerscaling by having God Serena solo the GoI. I mean, Jura<Wendy? Its just stupid, she was literally fodder to him preskip, he'd of been able to solo her and Lucy with ease before. Jura shouldnt be this weak and neither should the GoI, really shat on the hype he gave them, i dont know why Mashima shafted them like that. The guy couldve had the GoI lose to August or at the very least Jacob+Serena. But instead we have them soloed by an almost featless spriggan with no real reason to suspect he is any better than the others aside from some hype.

Oh and Meredy is still way weaker than Jura, she even had trouble with Zancrow, who is fodder even to GMG Jura. Apart from Jellal, CS are weaklings.

Well, to be fair, God Serena was hyped to be way stronger than Ajeel. And it most likely is the case. So I still think that Jura > Elfman. Elfman is like pre-timeskip Natsu right now.

That scene was one of the worst asspulls of the arc. If God Serena had been that strong from the start, the GoI should have really only been comprised of one person (which is God Serena).

The fact that 3 others were always compared to God Serena implies that all 4 GoIs were all on similar levels of power.

To make matters worse, the fight was mostly off-paneled with Hyberion and Wolfheim each using only 1 nameless spell.

If that chapter had any meaning to it, they could have at least shown Hyberion and Wolfheim's full potential (such as a full arsenal of spells) instead of giving us a boring introductory exhibit.

That chapter was practically set-up for Acnologia to oneshot a dragon slayer, who is not part of the main cast, which in this case would be God Serena.

yeah i can agree with this if God Serena defeats Ajeel with Medium-difficulty... otherwise its clear as day that Lisanna and Elfman is stronger than Jura
