I legitimately have no idea what anyone's talking about anymore, I'm just gonna assume some stuff happened elsewhere?
Anyway I want to say this conversation is getting off-topic but I'm not even sure if that's the case or not, so just keep in mind that if it's going to get derailed then there's probably a more suitable place to have it.

Why do we have to assume he payed someone rather than make it himself?
I don't watch manga you tubers because they're cancer, I just know his video came out the very next day.

How do we know the artist wasn't an irl friend and collaborator. That would explain the quick turnout.

It was just four drawings from one of his friends. I wouldn't believe he put more than a week into it that video.

I would say this probably took a ton of time to draw

And look. I'm not saying it's not possible. Just EXTREMELY unlikely that the guy was preying on Reddit to find a new story, found that post, wrote up a script, searched the Internet for tons of videos and pictures to download, and edited a 20 minute video in a day. Maybe it wasn't more than a week, but I think you guys are underestimating how much time youtubers(regardless of the channel) spend editing videos half the size.

It's possible that he did that all in the matter of the day without planning. But the guy would have to have no life and literally spend the majority of the day JUST working on that. And like someone else said. If he was that dedicated to stealing research from other ppl, he'd probably regularly lurk this thread and would be more informed in general.

I just find it very improbable that the was able to put a 20 minute video like that in under a day.

Gonna have to agree with save here. It seems highly unlikely. Even in his recent Jump video, he said at the time of making his video, Poro had only one chapter available. That means he was working on that video quite a while ago for that to have been the case. The guy obviously puts a lot of time and effort into his videos, since they're a cut above most YouTuber's schlock. Hell, just the timing and delivery of his dialogue likely takes effort on his part.

No, he talked about the more recent chapters of each of the other series. I'm pretty sure he was just referring to stream's first chapter. He's Irish so he wouldn't have read the first 3 from Viz. It just shows how little work he puts into those videos.

Hell, just the timing and delivery of his dialogue likely takes effort on his part.

Exactly. As guilty as I am for reading scans when they come out too, it's ironic to show illegal scans in a video detailing the decline in manga sales... and piracy isn't even a point he mentions in the video.

I noticed none of the youtubers that cover Jump manga are actually subscribed the official magazine. They make videos whenever Mangastream uploads a chapter.

You know though. The English Jump magazine would probably gain a lot of new subs if they waited til Monday to do reviews(which would also be good for thinking chapters out a bit), and telling people to subscribe to Jump legally

King of Lightning is. In his Toriko reviews, he said he would have to re-read the viz version to get a better understanding of confusing translations.

It looks like volume 13 will follow the trend of volume 8 of having a lot of lasting power due to it being released during the anime. I'm sure 14 will be the same as well due to the 2 cours.
