I have to admit, I am a little surprised he made it this far, ranking above two current generation mages? Avatar isn't exactly a well received group of antagonists in the fandom, but seeing their Master make it this high is somewhat pleasing. Arlock is somewhat of an enigma even in his own arc (What's under the mask, really?), but he does have a few things he can brag about.

Best spell
Sacrificial Summoning Magic

By sacrificing his face, Arlock formed a contract with Ikusa-Tsunagi, a God of titanic proportions, and can summon it at will. He was shown doing so, without the need to perform any gesture or draw any glyph, even while knocked to the ground by Natsu's assault. The process affected a large portion of the sky above him, enveloping it in a gigantic swirl of Magic.

Best moment:
Operation Purification

As overwhelmingly dissapointing as Avatar was as a whole, I quite liked their master plan. Sacrificing innocent lives to create a setting where Zeref would show up? When that failed, Arlock proceeded to try and sacrifice the members of his own cult, which, while a common thing among the series' antagonist, this one was for a greater purpose so I felt like it made sense.

Thank you very much for the invite, but i'm gunna have to pass. The actual tournament seem more fun then this. This discussion is gunna be full of bias by the judges who are in no way impartial. It will eventually come down to August #1 and (if people have common sense) Natsu #2. I'm just not interested any more. Fairy Tail has been a real blast but this power ranking is mainly for people that are unhappy that their characters weren't at the power level they were shown in the manga.

Hope you all have fun with this tho. It was great debating everyone for the most part. I'll probably be back when the anime starts up again.

There are no judges, everyone had the chance to vote and all votes are equal. The peeps doing eliminations aren't deciding which character goes next. I searched for picture all morning too. So I know about this fandom's prejudice against Arlock. There are even colored images of D6, Jerome, Mary, and Briar.

And even so, i still believe they can beat it

Acno wasn't trying to kill the DS at all. It was stated that he needed them. If Acno wanted them dead they would be. Cobra only lived bcs Acno wanted him too, and you know the usual PIS since no one on the good side can die. Cobra can't even trip up Casual Natsu let alone take Iku (which required an FDK lvl spell to take him down). So Arlock is above Cobra.

Dude Natsu dismantled Arlock limb from limb casually. He ran through all his walls like foam. Cobra isn't going to just stand there and let Arlock summon the god of war.

If Arlock beats Cobra, it goes to show you how bias and uneducated people are about be story.

I've been agreeing with Stool alot, she makes sense when it doesn't come to Gildarts . It's no way you can compare Arlock to Cobra. Cobra took a fucking kick by a nerfed spiritual Acnologia that destroyed his organs and still was able to clap back at him with some friendship speech. Base Natsu oneshotted Ikusatsunagi with just a FDK Demolition fist. Arlock made a couple of barriers then got beat down by base Natsu. Dude is overrated as hell with or without Ikusatsunagi no matter how you look at it.

But where's the evidence? The God of War and Arlock are two completely different beings, he even needed 30,000 people to be killed to summon that.
