Why are you comparing yearly sales to the first volume? Weekly numbers are clearer.

Kuroko no Basuke
134350 (5)│184176│209472│228953┃2012/04 - Volume 17
352813 (6)│437383│479470│508696┃2012/09 - Volume 19
Haikyuu!
123779 (3)│256250│300224│332948│2014/04 - Volume 10
378403 (2)│653412│733814│770410│2014/12 - Volume 14
My Hero Academia
149444 (4)│223055│251675│272270┃2016/02 - Volume 7
208539 (3)│370024│422470│456232┃2016/09 - Volume 10

Edit: Nevermind. Didn't notice they were also post-anime numbers.

Usually the first volume is always the peak when there is a boost, excluding recent volumes.

Funny thing: according to 2ch, the first volume of BnHA had already passed the 500k before the anime and before two years of serialization. Something that Haikyuu, Kuroko and TG only achieved with the anime and after two years of serialization.

Funny thing 2: the BnHA boost was much smaller compared to these other series.

See, Horikoshi? You should have sexualized the boys instead of the girls XD
Relax, guys, I'm just kidding.

It is the old conversation we had, fujoishi are more active when it comes to supporting their favorite series. It is also a small market, when a Kuroko no Basket comes to the scene they probably go with thirst over it. XD
Shounen manga, the pure ones, are many and the fans get diluted a lot, even in Jump, with One Piece as the unique central point.

You're joking but sales don't lie. Hot guys sell more than hot girls. Most sports manga don't tend to do well before their respective anime with the key exceptions being Tsubasa and Slam Dunk which did crazy well before their anime and Robot seems to be following suit.

One Piece has a shitload of fujoshi backing it I mean why do you think Law is so damn popular? It just gets offset by the shitload of kids and adults who back it as well. Some people will argue that Haikyuu is also popular with kids as well and there's a strong scene that supports this as well even if the anime is mainly a fujoshi draw, Kuroko is pretty much all fujoshi Jump knew this and made sure they got into Robot after Extra Game ended.

Boku no Hero is popular with fujoshis too, even more after the episode of DekuxTodoroki fight.

You see a lot of DekuxBakugou,DekuxTodoroki doujins.

I think One Piece became popular with all genders and ages throughout its history, it is like a cultural thing already in Japan. It is supported by girls, not fujoishi specifically, girls can like Law without being fujoishi. The manga world is not divided between boys and fujoishi. XD

I checked out and apparently Spring Weapon #1 is already reaching its year of publication (5 more chapters to have 50). Do you guys think that it will be cancelled any soon? Specially with the bad positions it has been getting this past weeks.
And if not, do you guys think that they´ll give the cover for its anniversary?

I´m just surprise to see how a series that sells poorly, and without much promotion, is lasting so long in Jump.

I think Spring Weapon will be canceled in a maximum of 4 chapters.
Hungry Marie and Cross Account will be canceled shortly.
And if we're lucky, we'll have World Trigger returning to Jump (please come back soon).

Finished reading Jump X, there were a few good oneshots. Higuma no Te was my favorite, it would probably work really well as a series, which means that's never happening. Sky Claw was good as a oneshot, doubt it'll get serialized but the author had two oneshots in the issue and he only just turned 18 so he'll probably do more stuff soon. Two Lap was pretty funny, felt like something Haruhara Robinson would write, which is definitely a good thing. Everything else kind of sucked..

heads up

they changed its name for some reason

by the way that post is amazing, Higuma no Te didn't become a series but a miniseries, so it achieved the "never happening" status
and Sky Claw mangaka did make a new oneshot different from his first 2 soon

jag is a wizard confirmed

This year we are definitely having less new series rounds than normal. We had a 6 series round though, so I think it is understandable. In any case, it is time to clean the house...

I like the design of the girl in Joreishi Rentarou, is it bad to hope that this gets serialized? The plot is nothing new but I like that design :/

@jagman1x3 is like Absol, the Pokémon disaster, everything that he puts his hand on it gets canceled, I already saw many instances. I'm glad he doesn't like my beloved romances. XD

^hey, that's not fair!

sometime it doesn't get cancelled, sometime it just goes on indefinite hiatus (RIP World trigger, next week Hinomaru gonna have the same number of chapters despite starting 1 year after it)

and about romances, really dude? he's literally the guy that introduced Kaguya to the anime/manga community

although, something horrible could happen to Kaguya in the future, who knows

Kaguya is not among my beloved romances, I have yet to surpass the 10th page of the first chapter, so jag disastrous powers towards it doesn't matter for me. XD

since you brought up a Pokemon, let me talk about another monster training franchise

recently I started reading Digimon Adventure: V-Tamer 01 manga, which was published on V-Jump in the late 90s

it's actually pretty decent and fun

I wouldn't mind reading something like that in the magazine, YugiOh proved these kind of manga work well in Jump

what was the last proxy battle manga we got? Kagamigami? that was just bland
before that was Mitsukubi Condor which was fine but couldn't stand out in the mag, it also had the unfortunate luck of being serialized right after Hinomaru and Heroaca which were more popular and better made to be honest
