@Caiops In a couple of weeks? I mean, maybe we'll get an OVA. Yuuna might have the same amount of chapters and might've started around the same time as Kimetsu, but both have a different format from one to another. Yuuna definitely lends itself to getting an anime earlier because of its format.

But is Kimetsu a part of Jump festa's lineup? I don't think it is. Yuuna is part of the lineup for sure, from what I can remember.

I think the next ones might be:
Kimetsu no Yaiba -> Sunrise or MAPPA.
Yakusoku no Neverland -> Madhouse/Wit Studio/MAPPA.
I'm in doubt if Hinomaru Zumou will win anime.

Bonus:
Spring Weapon No. 1 will be made by Toei.
LOL
I actually completely forgot about Sunrise, they mostly seem to be focusing on Gintama though. They are pretty good, I wouldn't mind it if they did Kimetsu.

Considering Spring Weapon just seems to be an existing meme at the moment, I don't see why we can't have an anime to make the meme stronger.

I think MAPPA would also handle it decently, I'm watching the new Garo anime this season and it has the heavy demon thematic elements to it, it's brutal, and MAPPA are doing a good job on that,
Well pierrot did Twin Star and that has demons, so it could be pierrot.
I again do not know why people love MAPPA. I mean do you want a CG anime.

The Cg from Garo is good and it works well. Also, the majority of their shows are hand drawn and don't use CG. I don't know why you have the impression that Mappa do a lot of Cg stuff.

Inuyashiki, also airing this season, has tons of CG. Rage of Bahamuto had prominent CG demons too.

Yeah, but that's 2 of their shows. The vast majority of Rage of Bahamut is hand drawn animation. Inuyashiki makes sense to be a CG show, since it would be hard to animate Robotic parts all the time with hand drawn stuff, they definitely went with that aestatic on purpose. As I said, most of their shows are 2d, stuff like Kakegurui, Altair, Yuri on Ice, Ushio To Tora, Zankyou no Terror, Kids on the Slope, Hajime no Ippo Rising, Days. Garo only uses CG for the armor suits and for vehicles in the newest Garo. I wouldn't call them a CG studio.

Kimetsu advert in the newest volume of Kemono Jihen (Jump SQ series)
Hey, I love Kemono Jihen, I need to see if the translations continued for it. Good to see Kimetsu get extra advertisement.

Yes, you most definitely should. It's a really cute series, as weird as that might sound. ;)

Will see if I can fit it into the backlog then.
And Kemono Jihen translations are delayed once again.

Volume 4 which came with Togashi's quote on the obi, sold on par with volume 3. Kimetsu no Yaiba sales started growing from volume 5 on which was the climax of the Spider Family arc. Gotouge earned this herself.
No, Kimetsu's sales started growing since the 4th volume's release wich came with Togashi's recommendation
When the 3rd volume released it lasted in Shoseki's top 500 for less than one month, and only two weeks for the first two volumes
While the 4th volume didn't left the top 500 in the three months time between it and the 5th volume's release, as for the first three volumes there was only one week when they didn't appear in the top 500 and two weeks when only one volume of them appeared in these three months
In the last week before 5th volume release Vol 1 was ranked 181, Vol 4: 187, Vol 2: 188 and 195 for the 3rd volume
There's no doubt that the serie got a boost from Togashi's recommendation.

Im not sure now which studio is the best for KnY. I would like Shaft or Sunrise. White Fox is also a popular suggestion I see.

Idk how I would really feel with MAPPA/Madhouse getting it and I certainly don't want Toei/Pierrot getting it. Toei is bound to pick up on these newer titles, I hope it isnt KnY.

Kakegurui had CGI though...MAPPA has a busy schedule (dont they do like multiple anime a year?) so I wouldnt want them on board. It could be good but it could also be disaster. The same goes for Madhouse.

Sunrise would be better than MAPPA. They're a bigger studio too so doing a 2 cour is no problem. The key for the KnY adaptation is just a good adaptation (great directing/passionate staff) & it being 2 cour. I think having 2 cour would really benefit KnY and season 1 could end off with the demon train arc. I don't see how them working on Gintama is an issue though.

As much as I love Bones, I don't see them giving KnY a 2 cour anime which it desperately needs.

I think we will see KNY anime be announced in a few weeks, it has almost the same number of chapters of Yuuna, i think the studio will be Mappa or Wit Studio.
I doubt it. Just because Yuragi gets one, doesn't mean KnY should get it right after even if they were serialized around the same time. They are 2 completely different series. It would work in KnY favor if they wait awhile, like announce it next year.

What type of team would you guys want making Kimetsu No Yaiba.

I want a staff that would be able to create beautiful art and animation, while also maintaining the rough and messy style of the manga

As long as it nails the atmosphere, comedy (yes, KnY can be really funny at times), soundtrack (for the feels moments) & directing then I'll be happy. As a bonus, I would like a narrator since most animes seem to skip that.

After seeing BC, I want good voice actors too xD. Pretty much give me everything. I don't have a specific director in mind though, maybe the one behind JoJo would be cool.

Pretty much almost every anime nowadays has some implemented CG in it, sometimes it's more obvious, sometimes it's more masked up, I don't see why we should only point out that Mappa does it, because every studio does it. Kakegurui is hand drawn almost in its entirety.

With the Gitama part, I meant that Sunrise haven't adapted any other WSJ manga besides Gintama, I might be forgetting something, if I am, my bad. That's why I doubt they'll do it, if they do, I'll be glad about it. They only seem to be focusing on Gintama right now in terms of WSJ stuff. Also, Sunrise don't seem to be very interested in adapting manga right now. If we get lucky, they will get it, since they do have a lot of output power.

I guess a 2-cour anime would be the most beneficial for Kimetsu, let's just hope we don't get a crappy 50 episode adaptation from Pierrot or Toei, that would be horrible... I think a split cour would also be good.

I do agree, Mappa are very stacked lately, but I still prefer them over Pierrot or Toei or Deen any day. And their adaptations aren't that bad, some are very high quality, some are more inconsistent, let's say. Mappa also have access to a good talent pool.

Madhouse have just been degrading by the year. Sure, they put out stuff like OPM, but that was a miracle production, and honestly, it just happened that all that amazing talent gathered at Madhouse. OPM was pretty succesful and Madhouse don't seem to want to continue it. I wouldn't want them to get Kimetsu, unless they somehow get some really great talent, they've mostly dried up in terms of talent, everyone seems to have left them.

Bones can do a 2-cour adaptation for Kimetsu, if they do, it will just probably be a split cour. It seems to be their new norm. I think it's a good tradeoff, you get 2 cours, the only inconvenience is that they're separated. It also depends on the network it will be broadcast on. If the network or the production commitee specifically requests it to be 2 cours long, they will do it if they are interested enough in the project. I feel like the main reason why Bnha s1 only had 1 cour was because they had very little content to work with and their schdedule was very busy at the time. Bones can do continous 2 cour shows as well, as they did with Bnha s2.

First and foremost, the most important thing for me is that they get an animation team and studio that respects the manga's art style. Sure, they can smoothen out the designs a little bit so it isn't impossible to animate the show, but they must maintain the same feel the manga's art has, I feel like the backgrounds will also be crucial, I'd like it if they'd go with the background style of a show like 3-gatsu-no-lion.

Obviously, I would love Kimetsu no Yaiba to be adapted by a talented staff, it's really hard to pinpoint someone that would do this properly, it's just such a different manga from your usual stuff in terms of presentation and storytelling. They'll need to get someone that understands how to implement the comedic moments properly, the cuteness of the characters and of the art, I feel like this is one of the most crucial things, since the cuteness is pretty important in the storytelling, the layer of silliness it adds really makes the manga have a unique feel to it.

I feel like we'll get good voice actors, it's almost a guarantee for anime adaptations, they almost always have solid casts. I'm not too worried about this.

Dream studio would be Bones, second picks would be Wit and IG. Bones can do anything, they are literal gods at adapting shounen material, they are the best of the best in the industry right now. Wit would probably adapt well to Kimetsu's art style and they can definitely make the show look beautiful. Production I.G have been more shaky lately, but they can still produce some high quality content, with great levels of consistency if they want to.

As I said above, Pierrot would be the worst choice, since they'll just ruin everything with horrible pacing, below average to mediocre animation and art direction, and if they do a 50 episode adaptation, it will be a guaranteed death for the anime, since they'll just throw something out there. Actually, Toei are even worse, but I doubt they want to take something like Kimetsu, because it has such a unique art style, I don't think they want something like it, which is a blessing. Pierrot can do good stuff, they did make things in recent years that I enjoyed, like Baby Steps, Yona of the Dawn and Osomatsu, but none of those really stood out because of their art and animation.

I clearly remembered there being CGI in Kakegurui and a few reused animation. It wasn't anything impressive though is what I truly meant.

I don't even want split cour. I need 2 cour for S1. Yeah MAPPA is better than Toei/Pierrot for sure but KnY can be better in another studio hands IMO.

Madhouse didnt have a lot to do with OPM. I don't think Bones will start off with a 2 cour. Their formula is usually 1 cour then potentially give it a 2 cour. I cant really remember a lot of titles from Bones that started with 2 cour in recent years. Maybe you're right about MHA not getting 2 cour at the start since I remember reading an article that they did start production early.

Good animation and a good soundtrack.

And the director can not make the beginning of the anime boring as Black Clover.

Yeah, I never implied that Kakegurui's animation was impressive or anything, but Mappa can do some amazing stuff, but lately they've been so busy all of their productions have been suffering, unfortunately.

I'm not even saying Mappa are one of the favorite picks for me, as I said above, if Shaft did it in 3-gatsu-no-lion's style, I'd be super excited about that. I'll just take anyone that has something going on over Toei/Pierrot, those 2 studios are guaranteed to make garbage and ruin everything.

Yeah, this is why I pointed out OPM was basically a miracle animation production, it really is amazing that it happened, it just happened to be under Madhouse's studio that the director gathered all the talent. Madhouse don't seem to be interested in battle shounens or WSJ properties, the last thing they did was Neuro from Jump?

The thing about Bones is, they're recently on an uprise again. They started struggling in 2012, after they did too much stuff that did not so well in 2011 and 2010 and earlier, then they slowed down their output in 2012 and they were clearly struggling. They only put out a movie in 2013, which just shows how affected they were. Then they recovered in 2014 and put out an insane amount of stuff.

Noragami was actually the first time they got an adaptation for a bigger shounen manga from Kodansha.

FMA, Soul Eater and Zetsuen no Tempest were all from Square Enix. The square Enix magazine kind of died out after Zetsuen and failed to really get any other big shounen titles, so Bones couldn't really maintain the good relationship they had with them, it shows how much the magazine is struggling if the best they could give Bones was Soul Eater not, which was a complete failure as an anime and as a manga.

Noragami was the first time they got the chance to do a battle shounen adaptation from one of the big 3 publishers, oddly enough. (Big 3 would be Shueisha, Kodansha and Shogakukan.

Noragami was pretty succesful, it boosted the manga sales more than the publisher expected and the anime did decently on home video, there were probably good merch sales as well.

I read in an interview somewhere, I think it was with Bones's CEO, he said that these big publishers ask for them to do sequels for stuff if it did well enough and possibly better than expected, but it's always hard for them to find the right opening in their schedule because they're always so busy. Noragami S1 had an original ending, clearly, they weren't planning on doing a season 2 and neither was the publishing company (Kodansha).

I think it migh've been this interview, I'm not in the mood to read through it right now.
https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/fe...tudio-bones-president-masahiko-minami/.104467

Then they did Kekkai Sensen, this changed everything imo. This one is in a similar scenario to Noragami, except the anime blew up, became one of the biggest hits of 2015 and it boosted the manga and it became a million seller series that year. It was the same thing that happened to Noragami, but on a much larger scale. This also had an original ending, showing that they also probably weren't planning another season, but then the production committee decided they wanted more and the sequel is only coming out now because they only had time to do it now.

Kekkai Sensen was the first battle shounen adaptation Bones got for a Shueisha manga, which also seems weird, but it's true. Kekkai Sensen changed everything, it made them the go to studio for high quality adaptations of battle shounen stuff.

They squeezed in another season of Noragami when they could. And then they got their biggest opportunity, to adapt the biggest upcoming WSJ manga from Shueisha, that's an amazing accomplishment, it sounds weird to think of it this way, but Bones were mostly underdogs and built their way up by doing original shows and adapting battle shounen manga from a smaller publisher very well.

It's funny how long it took them to get here, but things have opened up for them. Now they're going to continue doing Bnha as long as more gets funded. They also got Mob Psycho from Shogakukan, which is the third big publisher of manga in Japan. The opportunities didn't stop there. Kadokawa also wanted them to give Bungo Stray Dogs the battle shounen treatment, even if it's a seinen. Bungo Stray Dogs was successful and boosted the manga sales so it became a million seller that year and the anime did well on home video.

I feel like now the gates have opened up for them, if Shueisha give them the opportunity to adapt an upcoming manga from WSJ again, I'm sure they'll accept. Whether or not the production companies want it to be 2 cours or not really isn't in their hands. Hori said that the Bnha anime was solicited when the manga didn't even have it's fourth volume released, that's insane, of course all they could do is a 1 cour first season.

I'm personally hoping they keep on getting great battle shounen's from big publishers from here on out. Everything only started to take off in 2014.

Even if they do Kimetsu in a split season/cour format, I won't complain in the slightest, it's a small tradeoff for having the best studio out there adapting the manga.
