Jellal, better husband than Guts? In what dimension? Guts has a dark past but he has far better than Jellal IMO. People nominate Guts even when someone like Serpico exists for a reason.

never mentioned jellal, dont ever care about him, neither of them is husband material imo, im just giving last year results and commenting on the possible reasons why guts lost (forget to mention that his defeat was likely due to FT popularity at that time as a primary reason).

I can appreciate you trying to be sincere about a topic like this, but I think you're off the mark here.

You're basically saying Erza should be eligible to be nominated as a husbando because of her masculine qualities, ignoring how she identifies. Do people think she'd want to be considered a husband? Husbands can only have masculine qualities? Wives can only have feminine ones?

If defining a husbando or waifu is extremely complex and cannot be defined, why is it defined based on sex? I think people should vote for whoever they believe fits their own interpretation on "waifu" or "husbando" because it isn't as black and white as people presume. It sounds very liberal but this is almost 2018 where people should be open to what a "waifu" and "husbando" is and not basing on conventional means like sex.

But "Waifu" and "Husbando" are almost literally the same thing, except one is for women and one is for men. If there needs to be less conventional means to define them, then why do we have two different terms and events for them?

We still have three types of males in this contest:

Type A - The most manly of manly men are being nominated who are guys other guys can respect and are awesome characters, probably a favorite character, but may not be the best husbando.

Type B - Guys that girls legit want to bang/marry/fangirl over.

Type C - like I said before - Troll noms

Kenshin was a good cross between the two main types last year. Badass main character, who guys could respect, but he had two romances (1) with Tomoe (wasn’t that her name in samurai X?) and (2) his main story with Kaoru before settling down to married life. Plus he was up against another strong opponent from Gintama, Sakara Gintoki. While I never got into Gintama, Kenshin in RK was always a very house broken MC, as he did the laundry and cooked and normally wife chores while Kaoru taught her little dojo.

And as a female that’s very husbando quality....

While males want that librarian in the street, and a freak in the bed..... girls want a male house wife on the street and a samurai in the bed.
