It depends on the era. Plus, it doesn't hurt that Shima is way better at displaying and describing power than AT was/is.

Assuming Toriko was allowed to awaken each of his inner gourmet demons, I believe it's possible he could contend with current Goku, but we'll never know, so...

Goku's fighting style wouldn't match well with the top tiers in Toriko where a 0.1/0.01 second delay can be fatal. Plus, Toriko has a bunch of OP abilities, the white demon was able to kill NEO (portrayed to be only killed by supernova explosions) with just the poke of a finger. There's also food luck that's just broken so any attack that Goku fires at Toriko can have it's trajectory moved in another direction like we've seen in the past. After eating news, Toriko can layer multiple back-channels layers to create a small gap in space-time so he has a lot more to work with.

Also I was referring to Goku's power at the of Z/manga. Not this Super stuff with all his hair color transformations.

Well, using current Goku is OP. UI Goku is really invincible if not by someone with certain abilities like manipulation of molecules, disintegration or something like that since he can attack extremely well at the same time that the defensive part of UI makes him naturally avoid every attack regardless of speed.

So, characters like Saiki, Medaka, Ajimu or Kumagawa (who comes to mind now) are the ones who could do something like that to him. :P
