I like Akira Toriyama but after the dumpster fire that was Super, please stay away.
Technically, Kubo tried distinguishing volume covers for each arc.
Start to end of Arrancar Arc (Aizen's defeat) - Regular color scheme
Fullbring Arc - Glossy volume covers![]()
![]()
Thousand Year Blood War Arc - Color shaded volume covers![]()

It's obviously not as extreme as trying different coloring styles but it's a nice touch from Kubo.![]()

If Kubo is great at something is to make covers. All of the covers of Bleach are really really good.
Even the anniversary drawing he made for VIZ in 2016 was spectacular.

I don't know about you guys but I'm completely okay with this becoming a Kubo art circlejerk thread. The art of Kubo is very good.
Bleach is one of my favorites manga, and I'm crazy to see the new oneshot of Kubo.

Speaking of Toriyama, the change he made to digital colorization was a big mistake.I like Akira Toriyama but after the dumpster fire that was Super, please stay away.
I'm looking forward to Shimabu's next work because he is improving with every series. He's critical on himself, for example, with the first volume of the Takeshi wide-ban, he said looking back on the series it's embarrassing and feels very rough in the story structure. Now when you read Toriko, the story is more refined and has more of a structure to it than Takeshi does. Even with Toriko, he acknowledged the flaws it had with the timeskip towards the end & how difficult writing Toriko post-TS was so that's a good sign. He's learning from his mistakes and I'm confident he will improve with his next work.I dont know why people want more of the same. New faces deserve the opportuniry for success.
I have a friend who adores Toriko, another one knows Toriko exist through the promotion video, and one who dislikes Toriko due to Toriko too buffed/old.I'm looking forward to Shimabu's next work because he is improving with every series. When Shimabu does come back with a serialization, I want his series to not only be a hit in Japan but also popular outside of Japan. Toriko was hated on and ignored for the wrong reasons, mainly because of Shueisha's aggressive marketing scheme. It totally backfired and sadly he'll be remembered as that guy who's Oda's friend to some people &/or piggy backed off the success of OP/DBZ. Any success Toriko got prior to it's anime push is forgotten and ignored.
New faces are always welcomed but most have been underwhelming. TPN/KnY/YnY are great series but BC is mediocre. It doesn't help that the last few series got axed quickly.
Why does this remind me of Nisekoi?
It is not the first time that these drawings are seen in the chapters.https://www.mangatail.me/chapter/black-clover-151?page=4![]()
I think Tabata really needs a break right now
