You mean like the Rave Master extra chapters when Elie and Haru go on their date and Nakajima is watching Levin you know what I think I can deal that as long as the omakes are done similar to the Rave Master extra chapters. Well the search for Aquarius's Key will be done in the sequel since Mashima said he plans to touch on it in a sequel and the events about 400 years ago will be expanded on in the anime so you don't have to worry about that. But still we don't know what this second spin off is going to be about so we can only guess what it is and I just thought of something which is if the sequel has 232 chapters we would end up reaching that 777 chapter.

Well I don’t mind if Mashima’s new manga is a sequel to Fairy Tail and I see where your coming so I would like to see the other countries in Ishgar be explored. Also his new manga starts June 27th so we’ll see by then if Hiro’s new manga is a completely manga or not.

Yeah it would be nice if he expanded beyond Fiore, I just don’t want a FT Boruto where he’s doing the exact same thing but with a ‘next gen’ of characters (which are largely recycled archetypes of previous characters). Kishimoto hasn’t really pulled it off all that well and he’s better at plot and characterisation than Mashima by a wide margin (it’s just a shame that makes his works quite hard going at times).

Well hopefully it’s something with a fresh concept, whatever it ends up being not too long to wait to find out! I’d be quite happy for it to be still set in the FT universe, but there’s a lot of other places he could go to try new things.

Just in case you or anyone needs clarification bro it's going to be:

1. A sequel which follows the main story. So after 545. That's why people are discussing if it's going to be about Aquarius, 100 year quest, or like Boruto.
2. A spinoff that could be about anything.
3. His new series which is completely unrelated to FT.

There is no confirmation if he'll be doing either himself or supervising it like he did with the gaidens or Ice Trail. But we'll see, I rather the sequel be closer to Super than anything else. That would be cool.

If Hiro does decide to continue with Fairy Tail, I hope it will focus on the next gen or be a separate story from the main story. The power creep is going to get ridiculous if we keep trying to top world-ending villains like Acnologia and Zeref. I just can't see any villains being that huge of a challenge for team Natsu after the Alvarez arc. IMO it's better to start small with a fresh cast, and work your way back to the big villains.

But really, I'd like to see Hiro tackle a modern setting as well.

And there lies the problem fam. There will be some type of conflict meaning there will be enemies. But there's no more dark guilds after the Alliance fell, and there's no on in FT's world that's stronger than Acnologia. Alvarez isn't an enemy of FT anymore. It's hard not to compare but in Naruto they brought in aliens to be the future enemy which is a problem in itself. Even if the world is big with countries to explore any threat would be majorly forgettable, it'll be a bunch of Avatars and stuff. That means it would be just episodic type stuff with powerful adolescents kids beating everyone. IMHO, this type of stuff would be better as just a one and done thing instead of an actual series. Plus the length, who knows how long either will go for.

I think there must be a preface for the next generation, I don't think they will pop out from no where, I mean they will happen gradually at some point, Starting with Gale ending with Gruvia, Jerza and the final will be Nalu.

Same here since I'm been wanting to see the other coutries in Ishgar as well as the main land. Though I think we already seen Bosco in Ice Trail since that town that Gray was in Ice Trail had slavery and Bosco has a slave trade. Also Isvan/Isvan Region is located in Iceberg you know Gray's home country and possibly Veronica is located in Seven since it's the only country that has mountains north to Fiore. So besides Bosco, Seven, Iceberg, and Stella there are 9 other counties in Ishgar that need to be explored as well as Alakitasia, the main land, and the southern continent.

Well, that's why I support a next generation or new cast altogether. So long as the villains are proportional to the heroes, it can still make for a good story. With a new cast of protagonists even relatively weak villains can pose a challenge. We can see the characters go through stuff like guild wars before working our way back to some big baddie again. Like you wouldn't want to put Thor in a Captain America movie because he would just curbstomp the villains. I feel Natsu's group would have the same effect against anyone new they meet.

I also wouldn't mind it being an one-off. Under the impression it was going to be serialized though, or maybe I misread.

I think I have an idea what the spin off could be about which is a spin off about Acnologia's backstory since Mashima said he wanted to write/draw Acnologia's backstory in an interview back in October or the spin off could be about Brandish since Mashima said he would miss drawing Brandish though it's more likely we'll see Brandish again in the sequel.

Ok thanks for clarifying - if that’s the case there’s more to be excited about than I had thought I guess a continuation series could be good if it’s along the lines of following the 100 year quest & Aquarius (hopefully plotted out quite tightly too to make up for the Alvarez arc!). I’m mostly excited for something fresh and unrelated to FT though, Mashima is great at concepts even if the execution sometimes turns out half-baked so a new idea would really let his strengths show through more than something where the rules are already set. Another spinoff could be quite good as well - I assume following one of the supporting cast again, so provided it’s about the right character.
