Noah's Notes 8
-It seems paleontologist name is Caesar
-They go to Hawai?
-Gyaru in a very sexy bikini
-A trio of scientists? are spying. Woman looks like Kurise from Steins Gate
-Paleontologist meets Noah and our beloved gyaru
-Paleontogist and gyaru get in very good terms...
-...meanwhile Paleontologist and Noah don't support each other
-A big wave caused by a whale? throws to the sea the trio of scientist. Noah is amused by the wave

In other order of things, the pace this manga is having reminds me to Toriko. Which is a good signal.

Pics of the alien slime kids from Issue 25 new Jump title. A cute.

Also, author Twitter account, with more pics: https://twitter.com/kz_ina_

In addition to these images, it appeared in Jump Giga a few times (as has been noted before). I believe it appeared 3 times, with 3 chapters in each appearance. Here's a link that contains 3 of the chapters (along with everything else from that issue of GIGA).: https://tieba.baidu.com/p/5449062582

I think it's the third or fourth series if you're scrolling through quickly. This definitely looks like what they're trying to fill the void from Saiki's absence with. That other series that was linked initially with the guy and girl was the author's previous work I believe. From what I could see, it looks pretty cute and funny. I'm looking forward to it. Comedy appears to be the focus, using romantic elements occasionally to spur on the comedy.

Noah's Notes seemed like it was on fire this chapter. Fanservice, character introductions, new settings, new rivalries; I'm pumped. Act-Age chapter this week was good as well. Seems like they're setting up something pretty interesting. Seeing these set-ups makes me want them to last even more!

EDIT: It looks like someone on 4chan has all of the raws for Momiji no Kisetsu for those who are interested to check it out. I didn't bother since I'm not too interested in the series, but I figured I'd share it here for those who are interested: http://boards.4chan.org/a/thread/172131403
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

Color page from the final Giga publication of the second new series. All 9 chapters of this series have also now been added to that 4chan link that I previously posted.

What a strange situation when you can have a first opinion of Jump new titles before their debut because you actually have read them.

Momiji no Kisetsu: I actually liked it. I liked a lot the girl and her personality. MC reminds me to Sangatsu MC for some reason. I'm not sure, but this can work. Its style reminds me to Bakuman.

Kimi wo Shinryaku seyo!: It's like Takagi-san, only that girl is too childish (which increases her cuteness). If I recall well, Shonen Jump has never had this type of comedy before.

I calculate we're getting their first ranked ToC...in July beginning lol

PD: This new round opens the possibility of other Giga manga to get serialized in Jump in future. Let's see, we have a waterball spokon (which made me realize Jump never had a spokon regarding water sports), some sort of esper kids, that thriller about a magician living in Sherlock Holmes and Jack the Ripper times by author of Galaxy Gangs, a yokai manga, a title about a glasses high school meeting an exorcist girl, a exorcist samurai, a romance between one guy and one girl with superpowers who is threatened by snipers, some Frankenstein stuff, and a ronin.

Yeah it is an interesting situation to find yourself in. I'm really pumped for the second one now. In a way, I feel like WSJ has been looking at what types of series have been surprisingly successful in other magazines and seeing if it could possibly fit with their readers. Act-Age I feel is WSJ seeing if they could try adding something with a Runway de Waratte vibe and find success. If you say this is a teasing/more innocent comedy/romcom like Takagi, then I'm on board for that. The shogi one I'll reserve final judgment for one it's actually published in WSJ. Could go either way for me on that one.

We had Best Blue. And it flopped pretty hard.

After reading it again, I'm actually hyped for the shogi manga. Hope it survives.

It looks like 20k+ total votes may become the norm now. I'm assuming it's the same process as Kimetsu's? [i.e from digital downloads (?)]

From a quick google search, I found...

Weekly Shonen Jump 1993 #12: This one was released when SS2 Gohan was beating the crap out of Perfect Cell in full color (chapter 411, to be precise):
1. Son Gohan (51,921 votes)
2. Son Goku (48,256 votes)
3. Trunks (29,627 votes)
4. Vegeta (17,383 votes)
5. Piccolo (9,454 votes)
6. Klilin (7,438 votes)
7. Mr. Satan (1,892 votes)
8. Cell (1,769 votes)
9. Bulma (1,135 votes)
10. Dende (756 votes)

Weekly Shonen Jump 1995 #05/06: This one was released when Bootenks was beating the crap out of Ultimate Gohan in full color (chapter 501, to be precise). It appears much fewer people voted in total:
1. Son Goku (10,492 votes)
2. Vegeta (7,019 votes)
3. Trunks (6,537 votes)
4. Gotenks (6,102 votes)
5. Piccolo (5,515 votes)
6. Son Gohan*
7. Son Goten*
8. Yamcha*
9. Freeza*
10. Klilin*
*=votes not shown
I found some other popularity polls from SD/YYH

These numbers for Robo mean that cancellation is still far off despite its placement in the TOC. Its not fantastic for a Jump series but its still a good amount when you look at it from an industry perspective.
