in chapter 903 we saw that sanji recieved a raid suit from the germa, this is a topic that is sure to generate very heated opinions, and something that caught most out of left field, however, after thinking about sanjis journey for a while i believe i understand what the porpouse of this development is.
first however i will state the most common opinions i saw on the matter, naturally there are many people that do not like this, and think sanji shouldnt have to relly on something like this, either because it comes from the family he hates, because it would be a cheap power up, or both; then there are those who acept it either because they think its cool or just because they want sanji to get a power up already even if it isnt how they prefered it to be; there are also those who think someone else (mainly ussop) will wear it since sanji doesnt want to, this idea i will not bother to discuxx because luffy and choppers coment on how the suit wouldnt activate for them and probably only works for sanji makes sense and is in line with how the germa would do things (judge wouldnt want to risk anyone geting their hands on a raid suit and being able to use it, there are probably tons of safeguards to stop people from being able to unlock its secrets) so i think it makes sense to ignore this possibility; but lastly there are those people who think that sanji will be forced to wear the suit to take on stronger enemies but will attempt to become strong enough he isnt forced to relly on it anymore and then stop using it, this last idea is the one i will focus on more, as it is partially compatible with my own thoughts.
what i believe, is that just like the last idea propouses, sanji will not wear the suit initially, and once he does he will only do so if it is absolutelly necessary to defeat his oponents, and unlike some people might fear this will not be a critch to sanji or just a cheap power up because it will push sanji to try and not have to relly on something like this to get by, and he will thus train himself harder then ever before to try to not have to use it, but just to be clear, i do not believe sanji will outgrow the suit, i believe thatthe suit enhances the user natural abilities or at least just adds X amount of "power" to the user but does not overrride the user natural prowess, it instead adds to those natural capabilities, otherwise there would have bee little reason for the superhuman genetic modifications on the vinsmoke siblings, after all if while wearing the suit you can only use the suits capabilities the superhuman modifications would have been completly useless and redundant, judge would have just given them raid suits and that would be that, so its clear to me that raid suits work together with the users natural capabilites, but back on topic, while it might be sanjis intention to train untill he no longer needs the suit to keep up, i believe this intention will change latter, that is because the vinsmokes will be redeemed!
im sure you must have seen at least one theory predicting their redemption, ever since judge monologued about the hidden history of the germa back during the wedding we learned that their history is not so black and white, and they appear to have been betrayed, perhaps by the other nations in the north blue, perhaps by the world government itself, we dont know what happened, but with the world governments track record and their interest in controlling the whole world and painting the germa as evil, its very likely they at least had a hand in the plot that stole the germas country from them, now im not saying that germa right now are good guys, obviously they are inescrupulous killers who treat their own people as expendable, but that doesnt mean that they where always like that, somewhere along the way the germa became obsessed with revenge and reconquering their lost empire to the point where they will throw their humanity away, i dont know when that started happening and how fast it happened, but based on the relationship between judge and sora, and especially their fight over turning their children into uncaring monsters, i think its safe to say that before judge the germa where not this bad, where they still bad in some way? maybe, but its clear judge took it to a new level, in order for sora to have both married him and enjoyed the freedom she semms to have enjoyed (in order to be able to concot a counter drug clearly against judges wishes right under his nose) she got married to him in a time where she did not know he would turn out as he did, and when things where done diferently in the germa kingdom, but the question is, how can the germa be redeemed? and my answer is: reiju, so far her only porpouse in the story is to help sanji a little bit when it comes to his families mistreatment of him, but i dont think that her true porpouse, like sanji she seems to think that the germa doesnt need to exist, that they only bring sorrow and death to the world, however, originally the germa 66 only sought justice, and during the tea party we saw that sanjis actions have made her happy, and resotred some faith in her families blood, thinking that it must not be so bad if it could produce sanji, this renewed motivation combined with the aftereffects that snajis actions may have on the rest of her family and of her country might be what she needs to start trying to change it, even if little by little at first, however, depending on the future events she may get a chance of changing her country further, we know that the germas goals will make them enemies of the world government, and guess who will be public enemy number 1 once he achieves HIS goals? luffy, it is an old theory that the strawhats final enemies will be the world government, and in the path towards that scenario, the world government will most likely show more and more of their true nature, and draw the wrath of the peoples of the world who are tired from being opressed and want justice, this will not happen overnight, slowly the crimes of the government will build up and become more heinous, this could serve as a motivation for a certain country, if led by a certain girl, to go back to its roots and seek justice, from a simbol of evil itelf the germa could become a simbol of hope, as long as we have someone in charge of it who trully believes that they can be good, in this arc judge almost died fighting big mom, if something where to happen to him perhaps reiju could become queen, and seeing the atrocities of the government, and how the strawhats and sanji are standing up to the government, she could decide to ally with them and take the germa in that same direction, combining the germas original history and the current events to make their original beliefes shine more then ever before, not just for them but for others as well!
and all this would coincide with sanji just finally managing to achieve the strength he wanted, and being met by his sister, now queen of germa, who says she wants to fight with them, shows that the germa have changed, and convinces him to keep using the suit! who knows, maybe EVERYONE will get raidsuits then, certainly would be cool.
the only wildcard in this idea are sanjis brothers, they arent necessarily interested in a change of philosofy, and a superficial analisis might conclude that their presence will make the germa irredeemable, but then you must remember that they where modified to be this way, they didnt choose to be evil, it would be weird if they where simply left evil until the end, no, based on the hints of the germas true porpouse in the story i believe that they will ultimately get their emotions back somehow and back reiju, i dont know how that will happen, my best bet is reiju herself recreating the drug sora used to save sanji and modifying it so it has an effect on her brothers and slowly feeding it to them somehow to make them more suceptible to emotions, and then using that oportunity to slowly teach them to like good things, this is however a much more complicated issue then it sounds like, i dont think the three stooges would imediately become good once they fully recovered their emotions, so we will have to see how that works out.
but on a side note, i previously speculated that when sanji managed to fully cath up with the other "monsters" on his own and tried to get rid of his suit, what would happen is that reiju would show up and give everyone raid suits instead, on that note i would like to add that she would probaly give more advanced versions of the raid suits, science doesnt stand still, and after their defeat by big mom judge will surely have the scientist working double time to improve their tecnology, furthermore we can see from the raid suits that everyone but reiju has a very rough functional looking suit, while reijus is made to be super stylish, i believe that is by her own design, an attempt to add more charm to an otherwise very cold and bleak aspect of her life, and once she is queen of germa, she will encourage everyone to use customized designs on their suits as well, and the same will be true for the suits she gives the strawhats! so instead of everyone looking the same 9wich isnt odas style) they would get suits that fit their own styles!
ah, i forgot to add, the reason why i feel that this matches sanjis journey is because just like how he got his timeskip training from okamas, people he reaaaaaaly does not feel fondly about, his next major power up will also come from a source that he really wanted to just forget, and to have to use it as a daily reminder of the hell he had to go through would actually help increasse his power like we saw from the "hell memories" technique.
