Two series of Food Wars, Gintama, and Hinomaru Zumou would have to end this year.
I don't follow Food Wars too closely anymore, but it seems like it's still could keep going on for awhile. Gintama has been in the final arc for what feels like forever, not sure when (or if) it'll actually end lol. Doesn't Zumo have a long anime coming up soon? I honestly think they could potentially ax most or all of the newest series in this scenario.
Act-age is seemingly okay for now as it was used for the music festa promo, though the same goes for the Rising group. Still, I have little confidence in the editorial right now. The series they've put out have been more miss than hit and personally don't really interest me. I don't mind if they're not particularly well written as long as they entertain. They don't even do that for me. I read Ziga only when I see a matome site show me an image I find funny or interesting. I have no interest in following them. I also can't really see a pattern in the new series. Nakano said he wants more traditional shonen manga that kids will like and get attached to yet the stuff we get is hardly that. Build King might have potential but we don't know whether Shimabukuro will make that into a full series. I also don't really like the idea of depending on veterans like Kishimoto and Kubo to "save" them from their current situation. There's always been a higher chance of newbies and mangaka who've failed having a hit than a veteran that already had a hit.
Yeah, everything released between RxL and Act-Age has been axed, with the exception of Lycopene that just got transferred out. I'm getting some pretty strong mixed signals about Act-Age's survival. I would say it'd depend on how the 3 new series' first volume releases go on July 4, but didn't Bozebeats get cancelled before its first volume even came out? Ziga seems like it could end within the next 2 or so chapters, but the others still seem to be chugging along. I wonder if Jump is already gearing up some replacements?
Actually, the newest manga could all get axed to make space for a large batch since there's like 5 or 6 of them. Doubt it will happen though.
That's what I was wondering. RxL, Shokugeki, and Gintama all could also theoretically end, but I mostly see them cleanhousing the majority, if not all, of the newest stuff. Does anyone know how the Japanese have been responding to Momiji and Invade You?
