So, what do you think will happen in Viz, guys?
-Haikyuu filling RxL spot
-Act-tage or Jujutsu filling RxL spot
-One of new newcomers filling RxL spot after chapter 3
-Empty slot, nobody fills it

I have the sensation is going to be the last.

If neither of the new series do well then Jujutsu seems most likely, being a battle shounen (especially since it's very Bleach-inspired). I'd like to see Act-age too to keep up the variety but it's getting a bit long to do catch-up (they'd need to catch up on Jujutsu too of course but I don't think it'd take much longer than WNL did at its length).

Just wanna let y'all know that FA just released a few more Zumou chapters. Today is a good day.

Edit: holy shit i'm glad I checked fascans because those new chapters were insane. Possibly the best fight in the whole series.

Man I'm just praying that Gonzo smashes the anime out of the park. This manga has so many epic fights and moments.

Aren't they doing 1volume or more per episode?

Obviously I don't know for sure, but when you look at the chapters, that's just not likely. It makes little sense to start expanding the cast and set up a bunch of plot important matches if you just want to get to the end. Even less so that you'd spend almost two volumes (a fifth of the total chapter count) on a tournament's first round opponent whose impact on the bigger picture is rather limited. If you want to cut your series short, it seems to me that it'd be a lot more sensible to get to the climax as quickly as possible, only drawing some key events along the way, and focus on that for the ending. Frankly, this last chapter makes it look as if Fujimaki had no idea he'd get cancelled when he was drawing the penultimate one.

Even on its own merits, struggling with research early on isn't particularly indicative of anything besides him not having done a whole bunch before he started. Research becomes easier as you become more familiar with a topic and have an easier time placing details in a larger context after all.
I was thinking more along the lines that he had all intentions of continuing in Jump but decided for the amount of effort it wasn't worth moving to Jump+. Do mangaka get paid the same on Jump+ I would assume it's less because the content there is free to read so Shueisha is making less off it. Plus he wouldn't get the same levels of exposure (I think eldlive is the only Jump+ series to get an anime?, plus I'm not sure about most people but I'm more willing to read a series in a magazine I already have than one I just see on a free website. If Robo was in Viz's free section instead of magazine I probably wouldn't have bothered with it, and Jump+ has a lot more than Viz's free section)

Was just updating my log of Jump series, and not that it should come as any surprise, but Tanaka Seiji is by far the longest title we've had in Jump on my records (back to 1990 atm), with the previous title holder's being Sesuji wo Pin! to - Shikakou Kyougi Dance-bu e Youkoso and Bakuhatsu! Uchuu Kuma-san Taata Bear & Kikuchiyo-kun in 1992. Tanaka absolutely smashes either of them in length though lol.

Trying to format it in my Excel chart was a huge pain. Even after text-wrapping it to half its length, it's still longer than all of the other current Jump titles lol. I wonder how it's going to be received or which version it'll ultimately end up being like

I guess no tease for more during the final food wars episode, implied their not pursuing more anime.

While I really doubt we're getting more anime I think S2 and S3 were both announced a little ways after S1 and S2 ended not right after so I don't think the lack of a tease or announcement means much here.

The only design I have any issue with is Ushio's. Everyone else looks fine though.

Seiji Tanaka: Secretary to the Managing President - General Time Industries
Chapter 1 raw: https://tieba.baidu.com/p/5765257046
It's basically Terminator.
It looks like there's some humor in there, so I hope that it remains with a humorous tone. From the look of it, it seems like this is closest to Noah's Notes, with an unusual pairing between someone who doesn't really have any dreams/direction/an underachiever and someone OP. This could be pretty good depending on the direction that it takes. The art style is also interesting for this type of series is also pretty unique. I'll wait to see the translated version before giving my final verdict on the first chapter, but I think I liked this version better than the other 2. It seemed to flow better than the oneshot versions.

Current hype listing of new 2018 series: Act-Age > Noah's Notes > Kimi wo Shinrakyu Seyo! > Alice to Taiyou > Sougou Jikan Jigyou Gaisha Daihyou Torishimariyaku Shachou Senzoku Hisho Tanaka Seiji > Momiji no Kisetsu > Jujutsu Kaisen > Bozebeats > Ziga
