You all people saying town doesn't deserve the win... who does deserve it? If we're playing that game of mistakes = doesn't deserve win, mafia certainly don't deserve it with all their mistakes either, they made more mistakes than town if you consider the 4:1 player ratio. Nor does the SK, who never claimed a role and did nothing at days, the only reason he came so far was both mafias and townies making mistakes, but in the end not taking advantage of those mistakes = a big mistake. A draw would've been the most fitting result for this game if we go by "deserving".

Instead, the mafia threw the game in the last day phase so immensely that the win went to town.

Thanks to @Emperor Spriggan @Lady pompom @Asako for the game. I'm sure many people had fun, another game I didn't quite get to play.. But deadpad and spectating was fun I guess. Before I give comments about the role list I really wanna hear what you hosts think about it, and hear an explanation for why each role was in the game and why it had to be exactly that role. Probably Spriggan should say that since he was the main host.

Like, this makes no sense. After every day, after every elimination, people in the dead pad were saying "yeah there's no way town can recover" "it's not impossible but VERY improbable" "i can only see maybe one scenario where they can have a chance and the probability is very tiny".
I am really, very salty about the town winning this.

With so many things going wrong for the town throughout the entire game, it shouldn't have been possible for them to come back and win. Something is wrong.

Let me explain it to you then, Taku. As we said in the pad, it's not impossible but VERY improbable. I'm sure if you look at the game again you will notice it yourself how this was lost. 2 townies vs 2 mafia vs 1 SK. The SK couldn't vote. In pretty much all cases this is won by the mafia. In most cases a double lynch here is perfectly fine, but in this game double lynch was the biggest mistake anyone did all game, and that was a mafia mistake. After the double lynch night would start with 2 townies vs 1 mafia, mafia kills someone and game is over. But, there exists one role that changes it all. The prostitute you left alive so many nights after you discovered it on N1. With a block on Marm who was at this point a confirmed mafia, mafia couldn't have won anymore. No other single role would've completely prevented a mafia win here, like doc wouldn't be able to save himself.
Letting the prostitute live all game combined with the double lynch at the end to bite you in the ass.

Had Marm just went with Final, town wouldn't have been able to win this. Regardless which of the two killers Panda blocks, the other would kill a townie most likely. Making the last day start as 1 town vs 1 mafia vs 1 SK, at which point it's either a draw if everyone refuses to vote, or mafia/SK wins depending on who the last townie would want to gift the win to. Like the endgame of RWBY.

So this is what ultimately lost you the game in the end. While there were many other mistakes by all your mafias during the day which accumulated and got them suspected + lynched. Your team screwed up much worse than town.
@Kato756 and @MarmaladeSky played pretty well, especially Marm was indistinguishable for me in the early phases compared to how she plays as town. But then both of them screwed it up.

In Kato's case, you people knew full well that a prostitute was in the game and who it was. Revealing BK results is a huge gamble, if he blocked Kato even one night it's basically confirming yourself as mafia. Which is what happened in the end, Panda had blocked Kato one night. Even had he not, the results looked extremely convenient and waiting so many days to reveal is not how Kato plays the role when town. What he should've done if he really wanted to claim BK is to frame someone by including a "Mafia Escort" that was found with his latest BK result among some people, ideally Panda. Would've gotten a townie, or even Panda himself, lynched most likely. Your team killed Erin to setup Cres at day, but that failed as soon as Panda stabilized and Kato claimed. Would've needed Kato or Marm to make a lot more posts to further incriminate Cres.
As for Marm, Bodyguard after 3 dead Docs is pretty much impossible, I had expected Panda to realize that immediately after he laughed at town in his past LoL game for believing a Bodyguard claim after 3 dead Docs, same situation as here. But the even bigger thing that nobody somehow noticed was her huge slip in one post, where she said that Panda claimed Prostitute, despite him never doing that. Something only someone could've known with a Mafia Det info.

I can understand that you're salty, but it's really not confusing why mafia lost if you look at the last 2 phases, especially the final phase with the double lynch. Big mistake from Marm to lock Bel.

You all forgetting the real MVP. I'd like to dedicate this win to my buddy @James Rye. Though seriously, I was Paranoid Spy, so I most certainly would've fucked some townie over by getting someone lynched over a lied target. So preventing me making a fool of myself is very commendable.

@Hosts: I said this before in the pad, but you really need to adjust the phase lengths as the game goes on. All days except the final one were 24 hours, and all nights 12 hours. And even the final day was quite too long for 5 players. It mostly hurts the game flow to give too much time for few people, especially when players are less active as it was this game. Partially also the setup's fault, because many people thinking they have an important role led to them playing less and trying to not draw attention. Like it was with Vand and Holt, Demon probably as well.

Why did Marmalad die?

Letting it continue at that point was mostly a formality, as it would've most likely ended with Marm being blocked and then she getting lynched. The only way that doesn't happen is if Panda oversleeps the night phase/forgets to PM his action. So I can understand why the hosts decided it's best for the game to not drag it out any further and let the game end there. I'd have probably let it continue myself, but I like to go through with formalities. Reminds me of the ace attorney game, where my reluctance to end it and follow procedure caused mafia to openly surrender and organize a double lynch

But yeah, them letting the game end there is fine.

Anyway i think i did fairly well for my First Game and technically i did win it even,or well my Team did so yeah Good Game Townies and well played Mafia as well as our Serial Killer did have me on the edge of my seat sometimes.

Just wanted to say, I am very impressed Seraph. You played very good for your first game and have the potential to be one of the game's best players. You need more role/rule knowledge and experience, but after a few games you should be all set. A lot of activity and a lot of good thinking during the day phases for you this game. Some beginner mistakes, but you defended yourself well. Your role usage also could've used some work, with you making that circle of Apprentice -> Pirate -> Apprentice

Also, you misunderstood something important. If 2 Pirates target 1 mafia, both Pirates die. Because they both try to steal from a non-town. While you said in the thread that your action on Cres failed and only Erin died on her, when that's not possible. You should've reread the Pirate description, or seen the example-PM thread again, which lists all PMs a player/role gets. Mafia Pirate gets a PM, townie Pirate doesn't, so you never really know if you managed to steal something or what that something is that you have. A very bad role yes, but you kinda confirmed Cres with it?

Seeing the night actions, I think Mafia could have chosen better targets. They found key roles with their Det but maybe my view of things is different since I wasn't part of the team.

Bel is the most successful SK I have ever seen . If she had not revealed her role this phase things would have probably been more entertaining.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the number of guilty parties is a bit smaller than usual. Plus, we also didn't have two mafias this time around which means the one mafia that was in play only had to worry about one SK and a bunch of witless townies.

It were 2 killing groups, but number of mafias was fine for this game size. With 2 mafia groups they'd be 3 mafias each, this way it was a big mafia of 5 plus a lonely SK.

Tho seriously @Gryffindor what was wrong? I thought you were mafia while spectating all game, mainly because you played so much differently than in the OPM game before. You didn't carry like last time, but mostly chilling in the background. Also, why did you deny being the Sickly in the last day? Mostly everyone forgot a sickly even existed at that point due to unlucky targeting, so not sure why you expected someone to claim Sickly.
Still, infecting Bel at the end was crucial, else the double lynch would've never happened and it'd have been a mafia or TP win. Sickly is super underrated, since he can both confirm himself whenever he wants, as well as be very important in the last few phases.

Nah I liked how you were playing. You were earnest and tried really hard so props to you for that Besides I figured since it was so easy to direct suspicion to you I'd keep you around for a little while longer. Mafia had other ideas though

@Belserion you almost got that win, and you got 5 kills, more than mafia!

We almost went scorched earth on that town. To think I dangled townie corpses in front of them as a way of saying " hey I'm the enemy of your enemy" and in the end they turned on me never mind that I would have turned on them eventually. Panda was going to be my ultimate trophy. I just needed one more night
