Doesn‘t sound familiarDo you have Tesco in Germany?
Wal-Mart actually had stores in Germany, but they never made any decent profit so they left. I think this was maybe 10 years (or more) ago.Huh. I‘ve never been in a Walmart, not sure if germany even has those. Sure never seem any. And never seen carts just randomly left at places.![]()

Tesco went the other way, they're in Eastern Europe mostly, I think. We don't have Tesco over either, but Aldi and Lidl are pretty big in Western Europe.Huh. Would have assumed there were but I might be thinking of Aldi/Lidl.

Yeah can imagine most foreign store chains to have troubles here. Didn‘t know they at least tried 10 years ago.Wal-Mart actually had stores in Germany, but they never made any decent profit so they left. I think this was maybe 10 years (or more) ago.![]()

Ah Germany has the same “all stores close on Sundays” thing as Norway huh? I both like and dislike the thought of that.I think I read once about how sundays all stores being forced to close is a big problem for many of those outside markets which is why they aren‘t a thing in germany. But could‘ve been outdated.

Aldi and LidlCan‘t imagine not shopping in an Edeka here. The other stores look like they‘re for peasants.![]()
Yeah. You get used to it eventually. Can‘t even imagine the thought of doing groceries on a sunday. Saturday is thus the day for all that.Ah Germany has the same “all stores close on Sundays” thing as Norway huh? I both like and dislike the thought of that.
You know, the way you're describing it now, it's like our idea will be Subway taken to its extreme oppositeYeah, like mentioned before it's usually fried fries, topped with some döner (or shawarma) covered in molten cheese and usually some salad on top.
Nah, this is a fancy one.
The place I mentioned earlier (that closed), did kapsalons like this too, you could choose whatever meat you wanted, but they also added in champignons and paprika (sometimes a bit of tomato), their own blend of garlic sauce and herbs. It was fucking delicous. Best kapsalons I've ever had.

Where do you buy your things?I barely go to either Aldi or Lidl anymore, back when I lived at my parents I did go to those stores exclusively though. Oh, and Kaufland. We don't have Kaufland over here, but everywhere I lived so far, I can take a 5 minute trip to walk across the border.
All stores closed on Sundays here too, a lot on Saturday too. Until a decade ago and we started with "Koopzondagen", basically a rotation of cities who were completely open (every shop etc) for the whole Sunday.
Throughout the years supermarkets went open for 7 days a week, that's just normal business here now. Most other shops do it once (or twice) a month.
The worse is when the lot is full up...you see a spot inbetween 2 cars...you go to pull in and theres a cart there.....Why?
What happened to wanting things to be in order, not wanting to bother people around you etc?--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---
