Loved that marvel-like intro of Jump logo, hope they use it more. Made a gif of it.

So the updated that, adding HxH, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Yu Yu Hakusho. The other time I saw that pic it only had DB, One Piece and Naruto.

It will be interesting to see the final version when all characters and franchises get known.

Two words about Quartet Knight.

First of all it is true that it has been publicized a lot. What then was less than the games of Naruto and Hero is true, but it seems normal since they are two franchises much more famous.

Secondly, who should buy it according to you?

Logically, the biggest buyers were the opera fans.

If I hate Black Clover, why should I spend money on his videogame?

You... shouldn’t? Like if you actively HATE a series it’s obvious you shouldn’t buy its tie-in videogame.

It's a bit old, maybe someone already posted it, I'm not sure, but about a year ago TocoToco posted an episode with Hiashi Eguchi, creator of Susume Pirates! and Stop! Hibari-kun

That's the point.
Was someone earlier saying you should buy a thing if you hate it? I must have missed it. Threw me for a loop.

Reminded that Hisashi eguchi had a cameo in the final chapter of Shinji Hiramatsu’s ‘I Become A Gedoh-man’ over in Grand Jump this week. Nice fun bit of crossover for two of Weekly Shonen Jump’s greatest authors

Im just say that logically the game will be wanted principally by the fan of the series.

If a person didn't like BC why he should buy the game ?

And many people didn't like BC.

At this point its not that many people hate it but more that quite some people don't care about it. They advertised the game during Heroaca before the next episode preview just last week. People, even fans, might simply not wanted to buy the game. But this is off topic.

Jujutsu Kaisen has me hooked now. I didn't get into back when I read the first 7 chapters but reading up to the latest, chapter 27, this series has a lot of potential.

Jaimini seems insistent on releasing it in batches but at least the discord has memes to make the wait more bearable.

I'm actually considering buying the physical releases if Viz decides to do them.

One thing to wonder is why Jujutsu is rising meteorically while Kimetsu, a series in a similar vein, took a while to reach current Jujutsu levels. Jujutsu volume 2 might show up for a 3rd week on Oricon (while Stone and Bokuben won't, probably), and even if it doesn't it'll be past 80k next week. It may very well overtake Stone next volume. I wonder what caused this explosive growth for one series while the other slowly climbed to its current level.

Both Kimetsu and Jujutsu have similarities but I feel like they appeal to people in different ways. Kimetsu has a historical tragedy vibe, filled with action.

Jujutsu is very modern, current and has an urban present year feel. It has an interesting blend of action and horror, mixed in with an unusual high school life.

I think a lot of people could much more easily get into Jujutsu because it is very much constructed in such a way where it strongly appeals to younger Japanese people and I think the Japanese setting especially helps. The manga seems to have a very strong online presence and my guess is that the manga went somewhat "viral" amongst particular dedicated circles of online manga fans. Darker and "edgier" manga seem to be very trendy among younger readers(teens and younger adults) and Jujutsu does a really good job at molding into this category in a very natural way.

The characters are all very well dressed and look very sleek, cool, mysterious and attractive. I'm sure this managed to catch the attention of the fujoshi crowd, but also the crowd that enjoys good looking fashionable people. The characters are also really interesting and charming so far, even if we haven't had the chance to know them so well, their personalities help them become even more appealing.

The art also has a very modern, stylish and charming feel to it. The facial expressions are excellent and their range and versatility is great. The sense of movement in action scenes is exciting. The way horror is portrayed is actually gruesome and can be very disturbing.

On top of that, in the end Jujutsu is a action packed shonen manga and that makes it appealing to the crowd that loves action shonen manga. The story also manages to keep itself together and it hasn't fallen apart, which is a good sign, it has managed to stay fresh, captivating and exciting.

Luck and timing is also probably a factor. I think the series also has a strong word of mouth presence, online and offline.

I feel like Jujutsu is the type of manga in which you can easily just jump into without having to really think too much about it. The art, setting and the fashion style help a lot. The story is easy to understand.

Interestingly enough, I think Act-Age has some similarities to Jujutsu and that's why it also managed to catch on. Act-Age has very good looking modern characters, they're fashionable and feel very current, the manga also takes place in present day Japan, like Jujutsu. The characters have interesting personalities and the story manages to be very captivating, since early on.

Acting is also surely a popular topic amongst younger Japanese people and I feel like it will be easier to recommend to a friend a manga about actors and films, because those are popular topics within younger circles of people. Now that I think about it, Jujutsu has a movie theme going early on in the story as well. A lot of people aspire to become actors or celebrities, or they at least dream about it.

The art is very expressive and facial expressions are brilliantly used in the manga and this is crucial for a manga about acting.

Both Jujutsu and Act-Age also seem to be rapidly improving when it comes to their art.

I have some ideas. Kimetsu's art style was pretty unique from what one would expect from a modern battle manga, some might even called it bad (and obviously some did). I think that's what mainly put people off in the beginning, but it started to grow through word of mouth despite the unappealing art.

Another reason is that in the beginning, the only real recurring character in Kimetsu was Tanjiro (and Nezuko I guess) and Muzan as the end game. At chapter 27, Inosuke and Zenitsu were barely being introduced. In Jujutsu, however, we already have the first and second year students and teachers, the main enemies, and side characters. More characters gives readers more chances to find a character they really like, which boosts the manga's popularity.

Then again, this is all speculation. Maybe people just found Jujutsu more appealing.

Where did Act-Age catch on? Every volume sold less than 20k copies and 2 of 3 volumes didn't even chart. Most trash isekai manga sell more than it.

I wouldn't say there is a whole lot to go into what Jujutsu's appeal to modern audience is because its essentially goes through a check list of what's popular rather than becoming popular on your own basis. Kimetsu became popular on the basis that people dug what Gotouge was doing with it since on the surface it doesn't try to appeal to anyone and plays things by the book so already it alienated a portion of the audience but it caught on. Of course this doesn't mean that either are better than one another but rather one just pulled in readers faster while the other took longer.

The book rank.net estimates made me look at it in a better way. If catch on is too strong of a term, then you can say that it is growing in popularity.

If the checklist thing is true, then why isn't every new manga in Jump successful if it's as simple as "going through a checklist" of what's popular.

I think it's rather unfair to say that the manga didn't become popular on its own basis, whatever that means.

All 3 volumes are in top 500 shoseki daily ranking for at least a month now (i've checked from the release of volume 3 to 9/19) so i doubt they sells <20k. There were also 1 emergency reprints for vol 1-2 and the one iceemperor reported yesterday, non-urgent reprint?
Unless I read the chart wrong but here's what i see

2700~16900 (July 30 to Aug 5), Vol 3 is at #70, other 2 scatter
2900~10800 (Aug 6 to 12), Vol 3 is at #106, other 2 scatter
2600~5700 (Aug 13 to 19)
2300~2700 (Aug 20 to 26)
http://shosekiranking.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-2352.html the 7 days after that
2300~3250

http://shosekiranking.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-2360.html
2500~3250

http://shosekiranking.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-2344.html
2150~2650
Vol 3 should be somewhere between 25000~30000 up to July 12, now it should be somewhere around 40000~50000 range give or take
