It's worth noting there are 13 different anime airing on Fridays this season, it's a bit harder for Zumou to stand out when there's that much competition. It probably wouldn't be huge either way but airing on such a full up day certainly won't help.

I'm surprised we haven't seen Black Clover or MHA reveals for Jump Force yet, you'd think at least one of them would be a big early trailer since they're essentially current jump's representatives.
I'm surprised there isn't still Toriko neither. Feels like they wanted to go full 00s (still, no Toriko), then 90s (uuum, no Kenshin), and are now entering in 80s?

My guess is next are JoJo characters, then Hokuto no Ken characters, then Hero Academia characters, then dunno, maybe Toriko?

PD: I'm going to be mad if Kinnikuman doesn't join the fight.

But I sincerely doubt that the Hinomaru anime can improve the sales of the manga ...

Indeed, it is already so much that a manga sumo with so few sales has reached 4 years of publication!

What about that one series that wasn't doing well so the author turned it into an isekai and everyone hated it so much it got cancelled within a single volume of that happening?
they say the author Yujiro Sakamoto got so much hate after this he changed his pen name to Jiro Sakamoto (Campione! mangaka)

makes you wonder if there's other authors who changed their names after getting hate with their first work looking for sporting salt dude

Once, one of the editors said that they can allow interesting manga to live, even if it has low position in ToC and sells bad.
HInomaru is that type of manga.

Is me or Shueisha is teasing a lot Shimabukuro return to Jump?

I'm really convinced we are getting Build King or whatever has Shimabukuro planned next year.
They're definitely teasing Shimabu but not a lot. Isn't the EiC, the past editor for Toriko and didn't he go out of his way to say that he wants veterans like Shimabu back? Build King was also stated to be serialized if the one shot did well and now we get this one shot. Shimabu is definitely one of the first picks for veterans coming back so it's really likely he will come back again.

ComiQ is confirmed a short series, so it wouldn't surprise me if Shimabu does a short series. He seemed totally exhausted with Toriko since it went on for nearly 9 years so I doubt we're gonna get anywhere close to a 40+ volume series out of him ever again. He did confirm that he'll be back with something different iirc. If that is the case then I think Build King could use another one shot. Toriko/Takeshi had multiple one shots before they became serialized.

Speaking of veterans, when is Tamura's one shot supposed to come out?

That shouldn't be surprising at all but they are being fairly slow with the announcing the lineup compared to J-Stars which had a new character reveal every week leading up to the last month when they reveal "Taro Yamada" as the final and this game only has about 5 months till release and hasn't even revealed everyone who came from J-Stars returning.

Still sulking in shame over Hungry Marie.

Since the final stage of elDLIVE is starting to wrap up, its time for the queen of boys action manga to come back to weekly shonen jump.

We also need Narita to come back and grace us with another literary masterpiece. Everytime I reread Stealth Symphony I shiver from how chillingly exciting it still is. It raised the bar on short form storytelling.

Stealth Symphony is a great example of why having a setting with 'potential' doesn't matter if you don't do anything interesting with it (until it was getting cancelled, only then did he decide to write something entertaining).

You have to wonder if bigger names like Narita with Stealth Symphony and Tamura with Hungry Marie had just assumed they'd be safe and have lots of time to expand on stuff properly and didn't think about how to introduce it well first as a result.

To be completely fair, HZ getting an anime itself with its incredibly low sales was a big thing. At least, once the series is over the mangaka can be happy that his manga got a fucking anime which is something a series like Psyren never got.

He means the boost in sales. I think we're all grateful for it getting an anime, even if it is rushing hard.

You know, David-kun is actually starting to grow on me a bit. I've always liked the artwork, but Chapter 3 actually made me laugh pretty hard. I saw the raw for Chapter 5 though, and that one seems pretty trippy lol

Keeping with my backlog of reading classic manga, and now, City Hunter. There are ridiculous long ass chapters with 50, 100 or 150 pages for one chapter! Checking with archives City Hunter listed with 335 chapters in the magazine while in the tank version they decided it's a good thing to fuse chapters like other classic and in the tank there 193 chapters. Just like in Stop Hibari-kun, Cobra and probably others I didn't get to got same treatment. While others, like Hokuto no Ken and Dragon Ball were same chapters in the magazine and tank run.

Many scans are taken in volumes where the chapters were often grouped into one on several pages. Now they do not use this thing anymore.

It pains me how City Hunter is only 30 chapters to get completed in english subs, but in theory nobody scanlates it anymore.

I know Kinnikuman hasn't had that fusion treatment, but Saint Seiya and Captain Tsubasa had that fusion treatment. I even recall Otoko Ippiki Gaki Daisho has had that fusion treatment, not sure.

So Viz is doing something decent. They are letting people read 80+chapters of WT for free until end of the month for its return, as per their FB post.
