again isnt this same true for the others. Many sentai shows are hidive exclusive, non disc licensed CR shows are CR exclusive, funi etc, netflix as well. It doesnt seem clear that AMZN is really doing things opposite or different than their competitors.
You can still watch Naruto and many of CR's shows via hulu and even with Funi losing their Aniplex shows they can still be readily purchased or streamed outside Funi's platform. Nothing is really "exclusive" when it comes to those three. AMZN is pretty much the only platform you can stream Noitamina shows legally meaning once that license expires they'll be unavailable everywhere.
actually wondering what countries that don't get both amazon prime & prime video (honestly want to know, not to refute you or anything)

edit: anything before kabaneri will vary since that is before the deal was made hence licensing problem
I apologize if I'm not making myself clear. :p

There are 15 Amazon websites:and not all of these websites have the Prime service.

If you don’t live in any of those 15countries, you can still have an account on any of those websites. Eg. you live in South Africa and buy from amazon .com (USA). You can then join Prime on your amazon .com account. The only caveat is that you won’t be able to use all the Prime benefits because you’re not located in USA this extends to shows since not everyone will be able to view those shows if its outside the region so it doesn't really fix the problem of the shows not being readily available even if Amazon does have a hold of streaming services worldwide there's still a significant portion of subscribers who can't access the show due to the license itself not being available in the given country.

I watched Karakuri like 15 minutes after the scheduled time last week and it was there just fine. Maybe Amazon does different uploads for different countries? (that would be stupid though)
Dunno man there was a lot of people complaining via twitter that they couldn't view the episode at the given time last week.

But you cant watch many cr shows on other platforms like major2nd, MercStoria, etc

Of course naruto is on hulu, it's what viz uses. Many shows are not on hulu.

That's true too. I think the reason why people make such a huge stink over AMZN is because much like Netflix they get titles the majority actually want to watch while CR will get niche ones that they wouldn't touch. But I think people will cry over not being able to watch Neverland than Major2nd.

there is an alternative of prime video which just give you just video at 5.99$ a month, which I'll admit not the best deal but honestly better than any other (non local) anime service out there (+ you get other stuff), I get that licencing will still be an issue, but AFAIK everything (minus land of lustrous which I still get from local) is available there.

still cheaper than netflix and at least they try to simulcast (added to the fact that somehow most series that I'm actually interested in is released there, but that is a personal opinion)

edit: FYI, When I said everything I meant post kabaneri

Jump really ups the marketing for AA

(now where is the long overdue PV?)

I remember different availability time depending on if it is on the web or via app and seem Amazon Prime & Prime Video make the show availabe at slightly different times
< 5 volumes so still have a chance for Manga Taisho Award nomination. Hopefully this campaign pay off. :oooh

This reminds me of the bookstore campaign for TPN that I posted a year ago.

Most Amazon Prime content is blocked in select countries though.

-Sub and video quality are worse than its competitors
-Very limited selection of titles
-Are constantly late with releases
-Still not readily available in parts of the world.

Also just because a platform has a large userbase does not mean even a fraction of it consumes anime making the quality control and selection for anime considerably slim since its not a priority also once that shows license is up its never coming back making achieving impossible. Yeah anime strike was a mistake and getting rid of it after the backlash was a step in the right direction but they still have a long way to go.
The video quality looks better than Cruncy at least to me, but idk.
It does have a limited anime library, but nobody signs up to amazon for just Anime. There’s films, and free shipping on packages. If you just so happen to like anime, that’s a bonus.

My point is that most people I’ve seen have a amazon prime account, whether it’s for music, shipping, movies, etc. so it’s not like if a series you like gets it that you won’t have access to watch it.
Never understood why people get pissed at a an episode being a few hours late. Sort of of a 1st World problem. Then again, I never watch series immediately when it drops. I just watch whenever I have free time, so can’t exactly relate.

^Delays are going to happen I'm just pointing out that it happens moreso with AMZN than Funi and CR though to be fair AMZN never fucked up as bad as CR did in the past like letting new episodes leak weeks ahead a time.

Btw, I’m not claiming that Amazon is the best service, or a flawless service for anime. But in general, prime is a great service, and they’re decent at providing anime. And hopefully they continue to improve their anime content.
I’m just saying, I don’t get why people freak out when Amazon gets something. Likes it’s the end of the world.
I’m not particularly a hater if Netflix’s system, but Amazon at least provides things during the season, and accessible to anime

There is also new tirage number for Black Clover. In Heiji's web you can see it has reached 6,8M.

What about Hero Academia? Last news are the 17M from August. We are already in November, wouldn't be surprised if Hero Academia is already on 19M.

I don't mind Amazon getting shows, sure their subs tend to be lower quality but at least it guarantees there'll be weekly subbed episodes. Crunchy's better but it's still an option at least.

Netflix getting shows that air weekly in Japan is the worst though, it kills discussion and means you have to rely on fansubs if you want to watch it weekly and not wait a year after it finises airing.

It would've felt like its over staying its welcome if it had done a space arc/saga but the main thing is that it didnt. Toriko never really felt boring, even during it's timeskip, it was consistently fun/hype through out. The only manga titles that made me feel that way in WSJ are pretty much Toriko/HZ. No doubt, Toriko did rush a lot and had lazy moments in writing towards the end (food luck) but it still delivered on a lot world building/hype
I cant really say the same for Soma, the Shokugeki concept can only last for so long till it becomes repetitive/predictable. The art and maybe ships is all the series has to boast about at this point. Soma has been awful for a good portion of the central saga + the current arc, which is years worth of content. Toriko only went really downhill after the Bambina arc, at that point Toriko had a little over a year left. Even in that time where Toriko was going really downhill, it still managed to be hype. Also, Soma is unbearable to read and it feels like Tosh/Tsukuda are coming up with things as the story goes along. On the other hand, Toriko did a lot of foreshadowing and it felt planned out overall (even tho it rushed a shit ton of content towards the end).
Honestly, I think you're one of the few people that I've come across that called Toriko boring lol. Ive definitely seen criticism but never really saw people call the series boring
I think this is the funny thing: Those "Hype thing" also are in souma (the fanservice when someone eat something, some scenes, crackships) and most shounen have it(bad or good series), most people read it because of those thing, in the same way some people read late toriko.
I think the problem with toriko is that most reader dropped toriko after the TS(or did like icemperor) and the fans still reading it developed a sorta-cult following with the series and the author.

I mean, it isn't bad, is a fandom and is not a problem if you like toriko, but deny that both Souma and Toriko were overstaying their welcome because you like one of the author and you don't like the path of the other series, isn't a good argument and it doesn't help that your post end with "you're the only person who I heard posting that toriko was boring".

I don’t hate Netflix, but mainly because I sorta just watch series whenever.
Plus the only show they ever got that I was heavily anticipating was Little Witch Academia, but the wait wasn’t really bad to me.
Idk how I’d feel if it was something I was a huge fan of though.

But I feel like full season release is just the format Netflix works with everything the license, not just anime. and it’s what works for them.

imo more people watch shows after they air so theres really no need to be simulcast when only ultra hardcores will watch, consider that there are 60 shows airing a season, no one is watching every show immediately, most people handle 8 at most, meaning 52 shows people will watch after theyre done airing potentially.
