So the chapter that the Pillars are formally introduced is 45, so unless they skip some sections or speed through the earlier arcs, this has to be 2 cour right?
If we look at the interview statements, it is most likely a 2-cour adaptation. Despite having short arcs and being full of action, the beginning of the manga is based mostly on the world's construction along with the introduction of the characters and that requires a lot of time, or at least from my point of view.

That or maybe it could have a rare amount of episodes such as 16 episodes (?) i'm just saying this because I have always seen that Ufotable prefers to maintain quality before quantity.

Ufotable isn't doing a 2 cour adaptation. It's either 1 cour or split cour. Look at their previous work, they have never released a 2 cour show. F/Z, UBW, Touken Ranbu and Zesitira were all split cour and God Eater was 1 cour.

They've also never done a Jump manga, so who knows. If they only do 1 cour then it would be Zumou 2.0 with 4 chapters per episode.

That hasnt kept people from checking it out and staying with it. It could work for Kimetsu no Yaiba. These type of adaptations might be the new modus operandi for jump going forward. i

There is nothing wrong with it being split cour, though? Would still be getting 24-26 episodes in the end.

But... The interview confirms that they would adapt the appearance of the pillars, right? If I remember correctly, their official appearance were in volume 6.

If the adaptation is actually a split cour, then there would be two options:
1) The first cour would adapt up to volume 6, making the adaptation quite rushed and/or skipping some details.
2) Actually the second cour would adapt up to volume 6 and even beyond that.

If they'll be showing the pillars, I imagine it'll be 2 cour / split cour going up to ch 69, It'd be ideal pacing, means they can adapt the parts of the series that made it big, and would end on a really impactful moment that both provides closure and hypes up what's next.

I suppose they could also end a 2 cour on the recovery/training bit before the train if they went 2 ch per ep the whole way like MHA does but that would be a pretty anti-climactic finale, having a big serious fighting arc, a bunch of hype for all these new characters, then finishing with 2 gag episodes (the gag stuff is great of course but it's not something to end on).

I'm more curious what the Dr Stone anime will do since its pacing is harder to figure out, it just reached an ideal season ending point but it's just a bit too many chapters for good 2 cour pacing, especially since Dr Stone is already fairly fast (and would also need to take time to ensure the science explanations don't get rushed and lost on the viewers as a result).

Kimetsu interview bits
- Gag parts of the manga are kept, and the animation will change (from being serious usually) for those scenes (especially when Inosuke and Zenitsu come in)
- Camera work for the battle scenes are “amazing, as expected from Ufotable” especially with the scene in Episode 1 where Tanjiro’s family is killed - Emphasized blood a lot
- The snowy mountain setting is depicted beautifully
- Great, passionate voice acting
- Urokodaki’s mouth muscles will move properly from the side
- Pillars will appear
Sounds pretty sweet, thanks ufotable. It would be lovely if they don't skip over stuff.

Touken Ranbu isn't a split cour, you're probably thinking of the Doga Kobo anime.

I swear I've seen this discussion about Yaiba and its cours ago a few months ago.

I'm hoping it somehow ends up being the first 2 cour ufotable anime, but a split cour would be fine as well, I'm sure they'd figure out the pacing more or less.

I don't really expect a 1 cour since they announced the anime when there was a lot of content to work with and they did tease the pillars...

I definitely agree about Dr. Stone, the pacing is really weird for it and I really don't see a proper ending point for an anime. If it's long running I guess we can expect snail speed pacing.

For me, the perfect formula would be:
First cour = Prologue (Chapter 1 to 15).
Second cour = Ishigami Village Saga (Chapter 16 to 45).

The first cour could have an easy pace to follow due to the few chapters from which could easily be adapted in 13 episodes.
Now the problem is the second where it should adapt 30 chapters but within this arc is where the balance of action + science stuff is maintained so it could have an acceptable rhythm. The possibility of omitting some details should not be ignored though.

Now that's some wild fucking pacing lmao. I think that would be way too slow for the first cour, the prologue should only be 7-8 episodes at most. And I don't know about the rest, trying to figure out the right pacing for this is harder than figuring out the right pacing for a sports adaptation.

The Bleach anime has been 'rumoured' to be returning by youtube comments ever since the manga finished.

If there's ever actual news, you'll probably see it here before any other english board.

World Trigger came back from hiatus, even if it was abnormally long. A better comparison would probably be Muhyo to Ryoji, no one even knew what that was and it got an anime.

I know a lot of people want a Psyren anime so that should be the next goal.

And that's where I use my last resort card: Fillers!

As tirakai said, the manga itself is pretty fast when we talk about the development of the story so it would not be so bad the idea to extend it a bit the interaction of our beloved trio.
After all, we'll not see Taiju and Yuzuriha for a long time after this arc.
