Has it been mentioned if the ost will use licensed music for the series with animes or just something generic?

I hope they use music from the respective anime. That alone would make this so much better.

You have no idea how long I waited to see this animated and its finally here:spaz
I haven't bothered with the HZ anime but it got a new OP/ED today. One Piece ep #870 this week too, which is going to be hype. A really nice week for WSJ anime titles, plus I heard great things about TPN ep #3.

Haikyuu soon can become Jump longest spokon ever, and unlike some other titles (Kimetsu, Neverland, Shokugeki), it doesn't seem is going to end soon. It could be the first manga to end in the desert that is the 500 and 600 number (we have the 700 trio of Bleach, Naruto and Gintama (we can also count Kinnikuman which has already 665 chapters...besides half of them haven't been published in Jump; original manga ended in chapter 387), and then the +400 bunch of Dragon Ball and some other titles I don't recall right now). My bet of Haikyuu ending in 2023 at least remains. One thing is sure: Haikyuu is set on becoming one of Jump longest titles ever; could even become Jump longest title ever, without counting One Piece, Kochikame, and the 700 trio.

JUMP SPOKON BY LENGTH RIGHT NOW:
1st place: Prince of Tennis - 379 chapters
2nd place: Haikyuu - 363 chapters
3rd place: Captain Tsubasa - 356 chapters (+World Youth-hen 145 chapters = 501 chapters)
4th place: Eyeshield 21 - 333 chapters
5th place: Slam Dunk - 276 chapters
6th place: Kuroko no Basket - 275 chapters
7th place: Rookies - 233 chapters
8th place: Mr.Fullswing - 227 chapters
9th place: Whistle - 212 chapters
10th place: Play Ball - 201 chapters (kudos for Play Ball (baseball 1973-1978 manga) to be the 3rd longest Jump manga when 2000 started, only under Captain Tsubasa and Slam Dunk).

Haikyuu can easily reach the 380 chapters and becoming the longest Jump spokon ever...if you don't count Captain Tsubasa two Jump serializations together. However, I see Haikyuu able to beat the 501 number at this rhytm.

PD: Fun fact, Captain Tsubasa (World Youth-hen) was in the magazine together with One Piece...for 4 issues.

PD2: What are your bets about in what year would Haikyuu end?

They're only just heading to the quarter finals in Haikyuu so with 3 more Karasuno matches left they'll easily surpass Prince of Tennis. Heck, they'll probably still be in the quarter finals match at that point considering how long matches are getting.

My guess is it'll get to the late 400s coming close to Tsubasa's full length but not quite passing it, I'm thinking something like
3-5 more chapters in the current match
40 ch Karasuno quarter finals
10-15 ch Fukurodani semis
40 ch Karasuno semis
3-5 chapter prep for finals
50 ch finals
5 ch epilogue stuff

though at that point I wouldn't be surprised if it added in an extra 20 chapters training arc or something purely for the sake of beating Tsubasa in length. So maybe a mid-late 2022 ending?

Basically this. Figuring it'll end late 400s.

Definitely don't see it ending anytime soon, there's still a chance they lose this next match and set up a 2nd year depending how the author goes about it, plus we'll probably get more coverage of Fukorodani if they're going to win the whole thing to end Bokuto's final year and then there's also the possibility of the crows winning the whole thing in year 1 and given how long the matches will be this arc won't be finished until at least 2021-2022

Surely not next year, with the upcoming Olympics it would be foolish to deprive themselves of the best selling spokon at the moment.

Still think it will do the entire 3yrs. All the building up of 1st yr and 2nd yr characters on other teams to me indicates aspirations for it. Goshiki, lev, akaashi, kenma, koganegawa, aone, futakuchi, etc.

This is assuming that it doesn't decline even more in both popularity and sales.

3rd year is a bit of a stretch imo. I think it'll end in their 2nd year, one reason being the fact that Sakusa, Hoshiumi, and the Miya twins will all be 3rd years at that time and I feel like thats the perfect time for Karasuno win it all and I don't see the point of continuing the series into year 3 if they win the whole thing in year 2

Hinomaru thriving for years at the sub 50k a vol level (80k, digital sales assumed) strongly suggests and highly implies haikyuu would survive for years even if it cratered like that, which seems improbable.

I doubt that happens especially with Season 4 coming up, and if Sumo is still running in WSJ after all these years I doubt HQ would end prematurely if it's sales and popularity declined

HQ isnt gonna end anytime soon especially with it's popularity but HZ/HQ have stayed in the magazine for as long as they had for different reasons. HQ was its popularity and HZ stayed because the editorial staff saw the series as being special. Sadly HZ's run may come to an end after the anime is over. I hope Kawada can wrap up everything up nicely without it being rushed.

Honestly Soma needs to bite the dust first. Fans are starting to realize how bad it's gotten but I'm not sure if the Japanese feel the same way. The sales are declining. Soma is the new bleach.

I wouldn't be surprised if Shokugeki ends this Spring. I mean, after this chapter:
Tsukasa and the 3 Noir random guys are already KO in just 1 chapter, so only guys left are Souma, Erina, Megumi, Takumi (who seems is going to be out next chapter), Asashi, the Noir with glasses in kimono, the old masked Noir, and Escanor Noir. Not only there are few people left, Tsukusa is also going faster than previous arcs (except Souma vs Surge which lasted 3 chapters)

In other hand I think Yuuna-san isn't going to end soon. No signals about possible end (unlike Kimetsu or Neverland which are already in final arc).

Hinomaru however could end soon, depending of current arc pace and if there is going to be stuff after this arc.
