P.S. I very much miss Gate 7, and it's sad it may never be picked up again. Not that it would make much sense to bring it now, it wouldn't last as people probably forgot it.

From what I’ve read about it, seems to be about a boy traveling with that girl you see on the cover. She has some kind of special power.
It’s an adventure series. He fights monsters. And supposedly it’s a little darker than the art style suggest.

Take with a grain of salt though. I just saw this on 4chan

I felt like i was reading a new Shonen Sunday manga during the entire chapter (which i loved), specially with all the baseball stuff, classic Sunday, and i really liked the first chapter at least looking the pages, very interesting, the art is really nice and refreshing being in Shonen Jump, the only thing is that i was expecting a "fantasy" world, but looks like it's our world but with supernatural stuff.

And after reading the first chapter, I gotta say its certainly more serious than the art style lets on. I liked it, and I hope it manages to stick around.

It is assumed either they or Shueisha will through MangaPlus. I would be surprised to see both of them pass on the newbies.

I imagine/hope the idea for now is to simulpub every series in WSJ except I guess the really heavy fanservice stuff (unless Yuuna's just a licensing issue with Seven Seas getting it?). I can't imagine we'd see David or I'm From Japan if they weren't planning on bringing over everything besides the oneshots.

Regarding oneshots, the only future potential in oneshots is if they get serialised, and they're hardly going to considering western opinions on what's popular enough to serialise (at least not for now anyway, maybe if manga+ really kicks off we'll start to see western catered stuff).

They mentioned in their podcast a new series starting titled "The Last Saiyuki" so I assume they will be. When they switched to the new format they also said they'll pick up everything but the "sexy stuff" from now on.
