why do people kept saying late april/early may


the announcement video only stated spring 2019

It could be early spring (mar/april) or late spring (may) or even june/july going by anime seasons


1 more thing to note is that he once said he will start a new series 2018, we only get the announcement literally a year after that, so don't really count on "spring" being a fixed thing, it could, but set your expectations accordingly

Takamagahara easily the worst.
Felt like it wanted to be a parody of bad battle Manga in Jump yet wasn't funny so it just felt like a weird yet generic and soulless horribly written battle manga.

Absolutely. It was not even about how bland or generic it was. It just felt like a bad parody, I can't remember the last time I cringed so much while trying to read a chapter. Controversial bit incoming - BC's first chapter came close (for me), cringe wise. But I've heard BC has improved, so I'm happy for the mangaka.

I wouldn't call that nesasarily controversial . While Black Clover has gotten better, it was pretty consensus that up until the Castle arc the series was pretty abhorrent and just lifted whatever it wanted from better manga in the laziest way possible.

It's still not any less derivative than it was, but it feels less lazy and now fun rather than a trainwreck.
