What do you guys like about Saiyuki? Since the first few chapters it's been lackluster for me.

Meanwhile Yui Kamio is very fun. As the previous head chief editor before Nak the Hack said, "A good manga just bad to be interesting." YK is zany, wacky, funny and pleasant on the eyes.

Overall I agree with Bait that BC has superior writing over BNHA rn but it's sad that only the TOC and not the sales reflect that. Again here I believe the art style has a huge role to play in this. Also superhero craze potentially.

Hope Kimetsu gets Neverland level boosts by the end of the cour. RIP David next week.
For me, I actually like the slow opening, and that much of the opening chapters were dedicated to developing the main character and his relationship with his sister. It could have been a bit faster, and I see how that created problems, but it got me really invested in the characters and seeing where they go from here.

I think it really just amounts to different tastes, I've personally found Yui Kamio's humor kind of hit or miss, and 8 chapters in I still don't care about any of the characters.

I'm still here, and I still like the independent manga if you're in the botton or not, you want to sort it out because of that, you waste your time.

I'm now thinking it's not. I assume it has lasted long enough to get a "_ chapters left!" countdown and I think those are usually 5 chapters which means it would end after all the new stuff started (especially since it didn't start this issue as far as I can tell). Stuff doesn't always, I think Kochikame was just a "ending next issue" for lead-up but personally I think it somehow dodged the bullet again.

Love seeing that Kimetsu backlog and those Soma numbers are embarrassing. Whats keeping Shueisha from not wanting to axe it already? Are they waiting on to see how hell Dr.Stone does? TPN/KnY have been doing great with their animes.
Damn you...when I saw you quoting the ToC with this image I thought it meant SnS's end. You got me happy for a sec.

Looks like Kingdom will sell more than One Piece this year.

Backlog boost is BIG.
I love Kingdom and it would be cool to see it overtake OP even for a year but its not happening. OP will never get beaten and I dont like using the word never but very unlikely IMO. If you're talking half year then thats a different story. As long as OP pumps out its usual 4 volumes per year it will be safe. OP usually has ~1M in backlog sales iirc.

At the same time, a part of me would like to see OP continue to keep its streak of #1 top seller in a given year till the series is done.

Maybe because Shueisha isn't a forum user that thinks a 7 years old manga selling above 200k is "embarrassing" and needs to be quickly cut from the magazine?

Kingdom's has over 50 volumes in the top 500 right now. If it maintains the backlog boost for 3-4 more weeks then it can definitely sell more thsn one piece.

Why do people keep spreading this nonsense as if it's fact? Plenty of very big Jump series has no editorial countdown and just ended, typically with the penultimate chapter teasing the final as a. "Climax".

The weird thing with David ending is that it is ranking better than Saiyuki, soma and Yuna.
Let's see if Nak is going to give it another round or not.

I'm actually not sure we can consider that his rank is better than those series as it is a gag manga and have been switching places from middle to last position with Japan. I think the sales weren't what they expected and they must think one gag manga as Japan is enough for the moment.

"sales weren't what they expected" is too light for a disaster that David is, even if for a gag manga. I mean, Japan is even worse, but still.
