Which is good, since this series is going to blow up over here.Seeing those, you really get a good feel for how much Kishi caters to English speaking readers. I remember him saying in an interview that he began making speech bubbles wider so they'd fit English translations better and I can definitely see the difference compared to the usual.
That was Eiichiro Oda though, iirc. Unless Kishimoto said the same thing somewhere.Seeing those, you really get a good feel for how much Kishi caters to English speaking readers. Kishimoto is doing the dialogue, sketching and storyboarding though, and speech bubble placement also falls into his responisiblity. But hes not drawing this
- Kishimoto is responsible for coming up with the panel layouts, the word balloons, and drafting all the rough storyboards, which are then passed on to Akira Okubo to produce the final manuscript.
Interesting. Had no idea this was the case.
Well, for me it's the amazing art, the immense level of real and human emotions put into the characters and scenes, all delivered very well with said art, the intriguing mystery and premise and overall potential I see in the series for becoming something epic. What do you guys like about Saiyuki? Since the first few chapters it's been lackluster for me.
Meanwhile Yui Kamio is very fun. As the previous head chief editor before Nak the Hack said, "A good manga just bad to be interesting." YK is zany, wacky, funny and pleasant on the eyes.
Yes ignore the fact that SnS once sold more than double at one point and that it's franchise sales have dropped hard even with it's anime. 200k isnt embarrassing but if you were once doing 500k+ and easily passing 200k pre-anime then yes it is embarrassing. It's in the decline with no way of recovering. Also, with how the story pacing has been rushing it's clear they want it out of here.Maybe because Shueisha isn't a forum user that thinks a 7 years old manga selling above 200k is "embarrassing" and needs to be quickly cut from the magazine?
I agree. It's declining and has gone down to almost pre-anime. It's embarrassing even just considering the word of mouth going around these days about SnS. I remember when everyone just spoke good things about it.Yes ignore the fact that SnS once sold more than double at one point and that it's franchise sales have dropped hard even with it's anime. 200k isnt embarrassing but if you were once doing 500k+ and easily passing 200k pre-anime then yes it is embarrassing. Weeeeeell they have actually been cutting it tho? I mean, it's pretty clear series is not gonna improve. And it's not like Shueisha is trying to keep it or not axing it, they're just giving some chapters to the series to end and that's pretty much all. Maybe more chapters than what we initially expected, but of course Soma's performance has been awful these past months lol.Maybe because Shueisha isn't a forum user that thinks a 7 years old manga selling above 200k is "embarrassing" and needs to be quickly cut from the magazine?
Same here. Extending more the series would just be trying to humiliate it by watching sales flop or an attempt of suicide. My personal take is Soma is gonna end in 1 volume i.e. the next volume.
